Native American genocidePopulation history of American indigenous peoples[edit]

The result of the debate was Kept. Target article has section titled The genocide debate. One use of redirects is to serve as a navigation tool to send people to article where the term they entered is actually discussed. This is a prime example of that and matches the Dubya example in the When should we delete a redirect? section. Any NPOV issues regarding whether genocide is an appropriate term should be addressed in target article. -- JLaTondre 00:47, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Problematic POV redirect. We cant use Genocide redirects so casually. --Cat out 11:42, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Valid redirect. The article even talks about genocide. While some people may view it as POV, it is something that did indeed happen. The historical revisionism I've been seeing here lately is really pissing me off. I'm not even sure this can be considered a good faith nom (nominator was just blocked two weeks ago for WP:POINT violations). --- RockMFR 15:11, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Delete POV and offensive per deletion criterion 3 discussed above. Not obvious or useful enough to overcome the problems in this case. Also, given that the nominator gave a valid reason for deletion I think that WP:AGF applies and discussion should be limited to the merits rather than other users. Eluchil404 13:33, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - as above. Tonytypoon 13:58, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Let's keep ad hominims to a minimum, shall we? :) In any case "I know it did happen" is not very relevant, in fact what we think is irrelevant. It is a problematic redirect. Baristarim 05:14, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - Term may be POV, but it is in common enough usage that it is a likely search term, so we should redirect to the most appropriate article. —Dgiest c 22:15, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Talk:Sudden deathTalk:Sudden death (sport)[edit]

The result of the debate was Deleted (db-g6). -- JLaTondre 01:16, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sudden death is a medical term referring to a form of cardiac death. The article's talk page is somehow redirected to that of the sports term. This makes no sense; if a discussion is required on the meaning of "sudden death" as a medical term (and it is; the article only refers to the physician's meaning of the phrase which only includes cardiac deaths, not the layman's meaning (which includes sudden deaths from other natural causes such as anaphylaxis and ruptured aneurysms)), it shouldn't take place on the talk page for the sports phrase. --Charlene 22:33, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
