Ying and yangYin and yang[edit]

The nominated redirect was Kept and tagged with {{R from misspelling}}. -- JLaTondre 01:02, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to redirect every similar pinyin to an article. Ying and yang is an unlikely wrong spelling; moreover, Ying and yang has a meaning itself that has no relationships with Yin and yang. Aran|heru|nar 10:02, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • If "ying and yang" has a separate meaning, be bold and write that article. (By the way, I'll be curious what that is. I'm not familiar with a separate meaning here.) In the meantime, keep the redirect as a plausible misspelling. All three of the current inbound links apply to the yin and yang page. Rossami (talk) 23:20, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - A quite plausible misspelling. CP/M comm |Wikipedia Neutrality Project| 00:33, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cross namespace redirect Computerjoe's talk 19:18, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • This redirect has just under 100 inbound links. All of them are on Talk pages or Wikipedia pages. There is no reasonable possibility of confusion between this redirect and an encyclopedia article. Keep because people clearly find it useful. The guideline against cross-namespace redirects is not strong enough to outweigh utility. Rossami (talk) 02:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Subst and delete. The cross-namespace redirect should be deleted, and subst'ing should take care of the problem. (I don't know how to run a bot, but this seems simple enough.) — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 18:49, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep a valid cross-namespace redirect, as special:whatlinkshere/Wikilawyering indicates all are from user comments in talk: pages. — Dunc| 16:55, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • speedy delete as CSD:G4 - has been previously rfd'd, and so tagged. Suggest orphaning to avoid repeated recreation. Regards, MartinRe 18:12, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MOBBSTARR: Dice and K-9.Dice and k9[edit]

The nominated redirect was Deleted. Original author created both redirect and target as duplicates so GFDL not impacted as history of his contributions is at target. -- JLaTondre 01:02, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely redirect with punctuation in the title. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 16:02, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Charles GouldCharlie Gould[edit]

The nominated redirect was Speedy deleted as Author requests deletion WP:CSD#G7. — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 00:55, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Last night I created "Charles" by mistake; people commonly use nicknames for ballplayers and this one is "Charlie" in all databases. The two "what links here" are for another Charles or two who shouldn't be linked to the ballplayer. --P64 16:10, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:SlashdottedTemplate:High-traffic[edit]

The nominated redirect was speedily kept, nomination withdrawn and there was no further debate. --ais523 13:53, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Doesn't do what the name implies, rarely used anymore (I went through to change uses of it to link directly to High-traffic and found only three.) If we keep it, IMO it should be as a template including the high-traffic template with url and site name pre-filled for slashdot. --Random832T 19:57, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination withdrawn - the history should be preserved and a better way to resolve this would be to Be Bold and change it as I initially suggested.
