Requested MovesWikipedia:Requested moves[edit]

The nominated redirect was Deleted, XNR. --Cyde Weys 13:42, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned cross-namespace redirect. Recreation in 2nd time. -- ADNghiem501 06:20, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Cross-namespace redirects are not inherently bad. The fact that this had to be orphaned (and will again) is evidence that it is useful in solving accidental linking. It meets "keep" criteria 2 and 4 above.
By the way, the first deletion was an invalid speedy-deletion. It did not meet any of the deliberately narrow speedy-deletion criteria. Rossami (talk) 06:32, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The only page which linked to this cross-namespace redirect was User talk:Paul Martin/Archiv 01. I piped it. Most cross-namespace redirects, according to WP:ASR guidelines, should be deleted, with the exception of Transwiki which is served for the purpose of interwiki-project redirect. -- ADNghiem501 06:44, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question: Is there any deleted edit history? Ardric47 06:38, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment if you mean is there going to be any deleted edit history if this redirect is deleted, nope. BigNate37(T) 09:37, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • That is not what I meant. I am asking if there's any edit history that has already been deleted; I cannot tell. I suspect that either this page or Requested moves has history that should be/should have been kept. Ardric47 02:23, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
        • Well, The Wikipedia:Requested moves page has history dating back to 11:16, 9 October 2004 (UTC). The nominated redirect only since August this year, but I don't know whether it had page history from before that prior to its assumed deletion and recreation. BigNate37(T) 02:27, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
          • Right, could an admin please enlighten us? Ardric47 07:56, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
            • It's doubtful, as the first revision of Wikipedia:Requested moves is "(cur) (last) 11:16, October 9, 2004 Duncharris (Talk | contribs) (okay new policy page, see village pump)," indicating that there was nothing like this before the target page was created. --Rory096 18:36, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
              • There is one deleted edit. From the history: 16:36, 21 November 2005 Olessi (made redirect to Wikipedia:Requested moves) Rossami (talk) 11:09, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete people who accidentally redlink can simply replace wit with the correct page. Don't be lazy. Del as cross name space redirect. ViridaeTalk 12:39, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, needless self-reference. WP:RM is much simpler anyway. --Rory096 19:49, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. "Requested Moves" is not the name of an encyclopedia article, and that title shouldn't appear in the encyclopedia. Rbraunwa 05:09, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Rbraunwa. —dima /sb.tk/ 21:21, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as unnecessary cross-namespace redirect with no real history (per Rossami). Ardric47 07:27, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
