Draft:History of organizational changes in the NBA[edit]

Draft:History of organizational changes in the NBA (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

The draft overlaps with Timeline of the National Basketball Association and Expansion of the National Basketball Association so a third page about the same thing is not needed. In addition, all the pages at Category:National Basketball Association divisions list all the teams season-by-season. – Sabbatino (talk) 11:42, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect to Expansion of the National Basketball Association: This seems like a perfect fit for a redirect, as the Timeline page is just a chart of every BAA/NBA team that has ever played, while this at least tries to emulate History of organizational changes in the NHL. –Piranha249 15:48, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Also okay with redirection per Piranha249. The drafstpace does not have to be used solely to craft standalone pages, but may be used to cultivate content for merger somewhere. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 02:19, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • The creator of the draft is just making a "copy-paste" page of History of organizational changes in the NHL and does not cooperate with anyone (does not react to talk page messages, does not use edit summary) so I doubt that he/she has any intentions to merge something. In addition, WP:OSE is not a justification for such pages. The draft has previously been moved to mainspace by the creator, which was later reverted by an administrator. – Sabbatino (talk) 08:13, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • Thats a behavioural issue. Warn the user. SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:34, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - It is currently in draft space, and so can be folded into the existing timeline article. If it were in article space again, it could and should be nominated for AFD, because moving it back to draft space again would be move-warring. The AFD could provide instructions on whether and how to merge or draftify. The name of this forum is still Miscellany for Deletion, and the primary issue with any nomination is whether to delete the draft. There is no need to delete this draft when it can be used to improve an existing article. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:36, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect. Dont do spinouts in DraftSpace without article talk page consensus to do so. Content forking is bad. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:32, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete or redirect to Expansion of the National Basketball Association. Redundant topic. Preference is to delete, unless redirect is typical or desired for bookkeeping purposes.—Bagumba (talk) 19:53, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
