  2. Llammakey (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Will be using this for information on lakers of the Great Lakes, lesser known and recent Canadian naval units and for modern warships of smaller, non-English nations that might not have a lot of info in English about launch dates and so forth.

  3. SteKrueBe (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Will use Miramar for further merchant ship articles and to provide other users in wp:de eg. de-Portal:Schifffahrt with missing ship details. --SteKrueBe (talk) 20:45, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  5. Sander1453 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I'm not a very prolific editor on ships and shipping, just some 40 new articles in three years. So I wouldn't mind staying on the bottom of this list, even if it exceeds the agreed number and that means me falling off. Sander1453 (talk) 13:15, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  6. Amqui (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I wrote a lot of articles on ships and navies on the French Wikipedia and would benefit from a resource like that to develop them or create others. Amqui (talk) 21:30, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  7. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I hope to use Miramar to update the articles of smaller, less-well-known ships, like HMT Richard Bacon and Titilupe, as well as classes such as the Axe-class trawler. This is very difficult to do with traditional sources, as they don't cover smaller ships in any real detail - often just a name and launching date. I also enjoy the occasional ship with an unusual history, such as HMS Porcupine (G93) or the Landing Craft (Gun) Tower. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 21:49, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  8. Rsteen (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I wish to use Miramar for ships from Scandinavia and articles in Danish (we lack a lot of ship articles). Miramar would also be of great help in the work I do on Commons, categorizing paintings and photographs. --Rsteen (talk) 23:22, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  10. Ahecht (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email)/Ahecht (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I frequently update ship articles, images, and categorizations on both English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. Most of my work is correcting bad information or adding missing categorization or infobox fields, not article creation, but I think that Miramar would be a valuable resource for me. --Ahecht (TALK

  11. Mendaliv (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Lower priority request from me: I'm mostly interested in doing law articles, but I can see a great use of this resource when I hit articles on maritime law, especially those involving ship accidents. See, for instance, Collision between MV Testbank and MV Seadaniel (which I wrote); it would be nice to get authoritative information on those ships from a good registry to flesh out articles like that. But I know there are a lot of people who are dedicated to writing about ships, so I'd be happy to let them claim the accounts if demand outstrips supply. —/Mendaliv//Δ's/ 17:25, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  13. Thewellman (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I spent three years at sea and have written a number of articles about defensively equipped merchant ships, military conversions and convoy losses of civilian shipping during the world wars. I frequently seek information about the prior and subsequent history of these ships, and would value access to additional information sources.

@Nikkimaria: How do I do that? I thought it was enabled as I had Highbeam access previously. Also, I received a email from WP over the weekend notifying me about change user rights Gbawden (talk) 06:41, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Gbawden: Go to your Preferences, scroll down to "Email options", and check the box that says "Enable email from other users" - I'm getting a message that indicates this is not checked. Nikkimaria (talk) 11:48, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  17. Burgh House (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I'm only interested in the RMS St. Helena, for use on http://sainthelenaisland.info/rms.htm. John Turner, Burgh House (talk) 11:43, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Burgh House: If you're only interested in a single ship, it might make more sense to request that single page at WP:RX. Nikkimaria (talk) 13:00, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Nikkimaria: Sorry, I should have been clearer. There have been two RMS St. Helena's in recent times and some (many?) other ships called St. Helena. I'm trying to research them all ... John Turner, Burgh House (talk) 11:41, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Burgh House: Okay. My other concern would be that you are relatively inactive on Wikipedia, and thus that the source would not be well used here. Do you think otherwise? Nikkimaria (talk) 12:27, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Nikkimaria: If by "relatively inactive" you mean that I don't update many pages you may be right. But I use Wikipedia as my main source of research information. How about you allocate me access for 1 month, and I'll let you know if I'm finished with it earlier? John Turner, Burgh House (talk) 12:42, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Burgh House: Unfortunately I don't have that option - it's either one year, or not at all. Would you be able to use it to improve Wikipedia in that timeframe? Nikkimaria (talk) 17:35, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  18. Ravenswing (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email)) Good evening! 19. Bahudhara (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I'd like to be granted access because I have an interest in the maritime history of Port Adelaide and the vessels which called or were associated with it since colonisation in 1836, including: clippers such as the City of Adelaide; the Royal Navy's Australian Auxiliary Squadron, which existed in the decade prior to the Federation of Australia in 1901, and the later establishment of the Royal Australian Navy; the German-flagged merchant vessels in Australian waters at the outbreak of WWI, which were seized as prizes and transferred to the Commonwealth Government Line; immigrant vessels; and vessels of the Adelaide Steamship Company. FYI, due to a lack of success in recruiting new editors through holding Wikipedia meetups over the past couple of years, including at the Maritime Museum in Port Adelaide, last year I set up the Adelaide Environment & Heritage Wiki. However, I don't see this as a potential COI because this new community-based wiki is intended as a parallel project to Wikipedia, providing a supportive local environment and training ground for new editors, and focussing more on vessels such as the 360-odd trading ketches which operated in South Australian coastal waters up to 1980 (nearly all of which won't meet Wikipedi's notability guidelines, or the ban on original research, since there is the opportunity to capture material from oral histories). Over time this project will (hopefully) train new editors, and feed more verified content back into Wikipedia.

  1. Rsteen (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) As my Miramar account seems to have run out, I wish to renew it. It has been extremely helpful, for instance in making List of ships built at John I. Thornycroft & Company, Chiswick in English and Danish. --Rsteen (talk) 16:13, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Rsteen: Your subscription expired? I was told that all accounts had been renewed. Did it expire along time ago?  Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 22:58, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Lingzhi: Hi. I've been doing other things for a couple of weeks and when I returned, it was no longer miramarshipindex.org.nz, but a redirect to miramarshipindex.nz, who denied ever having heard of me (no chance of getting a new password, etc). I may be doing something wrong, but right now I'm stuck. Cheers --Rsteen (talk) 10:54, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please send me an email from the address you gave them when you got the subscription, and in th email please tell me any info you had to tell them back then too. I'll email and ask...  Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 11:10, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Lingzhi: Hi. Answer should be in your email now. Cheers Rsteen (talk) 12:34, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Rsteen: I have corresponded with Miramar and sent their reply to you. Please let me know when this situation is resolved to your satisfaction. Thanks...  Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 21:37, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Lingzhi: The key was to register a "7-day free trial" using the original username and password. Then full rights were restored. By the way Miramar's new design is a definite improvement. So you can mark this as resolved. With thanks --Rsteen (talk) 19:26, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
