Submitting a page to Wikipedia[edit]

I have a page in the Sandbox. Can that be submitted for review? If so, how do I submit it? WikiJazz22 (talk) 01:44, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'll happily defer to other editors on this, but I think you need to move the Sandbox content to a draft article before you can submit it. DonIago (talk) 02:22, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@WikiJazz22: There's nothing stopping you from using the {{AFC submission}} template from your sandbox. Preferably it'd be in draftspace, but reviewers will take care of it. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 02:31, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
WikiJazz22 This is a good start, but if you submit it for review now, it will probably be rejected. For a new article to be accepted, you have to prove that the subject is notable by finding high quality independent sources. So things like her personal website, her Spotify page, and websites that have indiscriminate listings of musicians won't count. You'll need to find a few proper articles about her or books that discuss her work. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 03:03, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Junta (game) page[edit]

My wife noticed that the page listed Merlin Southwell (no idea who he is) as the original designer, published in 1978. I am the original designer and the game was published in 1979. I have the original contract with Creative Wargames Workshop on paper, not online. Don't recall much being online in 1979. But this picture of the box for the 1985 edition of the game (after the rights were sold to West End Games) clearly lists me as a designer, as the contract specified. See the lower right hand corner.[1]https://i.etsystatic.com/12125807/r/il/b956c6/2096499937/il_794xN.2096499937_sq3z.jpg This is my first time editing Wikipedia and it took me a while to find this. Vincent Tsao (talk) 03:12, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Vincent Tsao Another editor has found a 1981 Washington Post article that covered the game and credited you as inventor of the game. The other editor has changed our article accordingly. —C.Fred (talk) 03:19, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Change a page name[edit]

hello,

i would like to change the page Budapest Business School's name from that to Budapest Business University referring to the decision of the Hungarian Education Office to change the name of the university on 1 August.

Thanks for your help, Zsófi Gerecs (BBU communication expert) 176.63.162.136 (talk) 08:24, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Baháʼu'lláh/Photo[edit]

I know there has been a discussion about this already but the people who did the discussion were not Bahía. In our faith that photo is sacred and is not supposed to be on the internet but rather only in the arrives in Haifa and by keeping it up it is a blatant disregard for my faith. since most of the people who had the discussion where not Bahía, I believe they should not have a say in the mater. So, I kindly request that those images be removed.

thank you. Thunder13240 (talk) 08:40, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thunder13240 Wikipedia is not censored for any reason. Removing everything that offends someone would leave little left. If you don't want to potentially see images that may offend you, you can suppress the display of images, go to WP:NOSEE for instructions. 331dot (talk) 08:55, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And everyone gets a say in determining WP:CONSENSUS. 331dot (talk) 08:56, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's not how this website works. As long as they follow WP policies and guidelines, capitalists can edit/discuss communism, nihilists can edit reality, muslims can edit asatru etc etc etc. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:47, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Thunder13240. Baháʼís control Baháʼí publications and Baháʼí websites and Baháʼí houses of worship. They do not control Wikipedia. We neutrally describe Baháʼí religious taboos, but we most definitely do not observe them. The photos are genuine, historically important, and in the public domain. The photos are staying on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons and trying to get them removed is a complete waste of your time. If you do not like the photos, do not look at them, but stop trying to prevent other people from looking at them. Cullen328 (talk) 07:58, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Found this an interesting discussion, so I headed right over to Baháʼu'lláh to see what all the commotion was about. Which then reminded me of the Streisand effect. Mathglot (talk) 01:07, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Someone needs help making an account (VPN issues)[edit]

Someone on reddit has their account creation being blocked because of an IP ban. I can't help them, but since they can't post a question here themselves I figured I would link their question here so if anyone knows what to do and happens to have a reddit account they can reply to them there. Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues[edit]

According to Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living people, the information in the articles cannot be supported by tabloids. All information in this article (pt:Eduardo Vítor Rodrigues) is supported by tabloids. Furthermore, the content on this page only concerns court cases. This content is biased and, once again, goes against the policy on biographies of living persons, more specifically against the principle of impartiality. The content should be deleted. This is the help desk for the English-language Wikipedia only, we can't help you with issues at Portuguese Wikipedia. Beeblebrox (talk) 16:09, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why is LK-99 Not on the new pages feed?[edit]

I was using the new pages feed (Special:NewPagesFeed) to see when LK-99 forst got its own Wikipedia page. It looks like the original creation was the 25th (or the 27?) of July. But when I scroll back that far on the newpagesfeed (Special:NewPagesFeed) and even back further, there is nothing.

If I had looked the day it was created, would I have seen it there?

Why is it not there now?

Is the Special:NewPagesFeed not canonical? 2601:1C0:4402:A8B0:5C88:D92F:F8CC:FE3E (talk) 18:29, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

When I filter the list to show only pages created on the 25th, LK-99 appears correctly in it. Did you check the filters to see if reviewed pages are hidden? Isabelle Belato 🏳‍🌈 18:38, 4 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
