How to save a wiki article link as a reading record in wiki account, as on Wiki APP version.

Hope to know how to save a wiki article link as a reading record in wiki account, just like the function of Wiki APP on phone. So that the record can be synchronized with cellphone.

I think you are referring to your watchlist; there should be a white star at the top of the article(when viewed in the desktop version of Wikipedia), if you click it, it will turn blue; this means it is now on your watchlist. 331dot (talk) 08:38, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

Hello, Alexsunder. I think you are referring to synchronised reading lists: these are natively provided in the the mobile apps only. However, you can download a browser extension which will let you add articles to your reading list from the web version: I think that is what you are asking for. Creating a new page of our company

If I want to create a Wikipedia page for our company, what do I have to do?

I have all the references and articles.

Before doing anything, familiarise yourself with our policies on conflicts of interest, paid editing and neutral point of view, which together should help you to understand why it's very difficult for a company to write a wikipedia article about itself. @Class101-user: After completing steps indicated by Mikenorton above, please see if your company satisfies general requirements defined at WP:N and specific ones at WP:NCORP. Hello David and Colin. Thank you for your responses. I will find out from Richard Seaglove what pseudonym he used. His entry was certainly in good faith. It is not for promotion I was requesting this it was because there is no aural history of the last 19 years of Nina Simone's life and I know that Paul Robinson was her right hand man in this time. Perhaps I worded my initial request to you incorrectly. My apologies for that. I was simply concerned that he was not cited in her wiki and was very happy to find out that Richard Seaglove was doing a wiki entry on him and then equally disappointed when it was not up...particularly knowing that his biography on their working life together was coming up in the next 12 months. Hi PoeticPlenties. Wikipedia is not intended for promotional purposes. If a biography of Mr. Robinson is about to be released, it may serve as a source for a biography article on Wikipedia in the future. Unsourced Wikipedia articles are not put up in anticipation of upcoming sources, however. That would be putting the cart before the horse.--Quisqualis (talk) 22:49, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for reinstating this post. It is not a biography of Paul per se...it is a record of this 19 years working with Nina as her drummer but that is kind of not really the point in fact. I wish I hadn't mentioned it. Could somebody tell me how I can contact the editors of Nina Simone's page because it is an enormous oversight that he is not mentioned on either Nina's page nor Van Morrison's page. To have played with Nina as her only drummer (often billed outside Ronnie Scott's and such concerts with his hame as a duo and Olympia regularly in Paris over 19 years) warrants him as a valuable artist. I don't know how wiki works but I would truly appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction. Richard believes he had done an entry but since he was new to this I guess, and perhaps did not do the Robinson page correctly. In any case he needs to be mentioned on Nina's page at the very least. How can I add an information on wikipedia

Archit8899, your biggest problem will be to establish that trishak jaiswal is notable, in the peculiar way in which that word is used here – click on that blue link for details. As a Google search for "trishak jaiswal" gives no hits at all, it seems unlikely that you will succeed. Maproom (talk) 15:27, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

While that's one measure of contribution, it's not a very good one. Ironically, I think the best contributors to the quality of an article are often those with smaller net byte counts. I.e., there can be a lot of "fluff" in some articles that, when removed, make it much easier to read and understand. I may be biased, though, as more of an editor than a writer. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 21:51, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

AlanM1, I'll agree it doesn't necessarily correlate with the hypothetical "quality" metric, I'm going to push back a bit on the broad assumption that it's not a good measure. I have found it useful in many cases. For example, I often get inquiries at OTRS about issues where I'd like to point them to an appropriate editor to discuss further. It is fairly easy to look at that list and point them to a couple of possible candidates. I won't disagree for a second, that it might be better to spend an hour reviewing the article and identifying who contributed the most quality, but I don't have the hour to spend, so it's a quick and dirty measure that works. @Joseph A. Spadaro: I think it would be useful. If you do a search for Kesse, you will see that there are several viable entries that could go on a Kesse (disambiguation) page. @Joseph A. Spadaro: It's easy except for the tidy-up. Here's what I did:

• Move "Kesse" to "Kesse (musician)", because he is no more notable than the other Kesse articles. Remove its hatnote.
• The move leaves a redirect article named "Kesse". Edit that article to completely remove it contents (i.e., the redirect syntax) and replace it with the contents of the disambiguation, derived from the old hatnote. This is just normal editing.
• Add the {{dab}} template at the bottom.
• Create a "Kesse (disambiguation)" page and edit it to be a redirect to "Kesse" by adding #REDIRECT [[Kesse]] as its contents. This is step allows other editors to use this link as an explicit indication that they did not make a mistake and they do want to link to the dab page.
• Tidy up the incoming links. Go to the "Kesse" article's "what links here" page, visit all the incoming links" pages (starting with templates) and edit them to replace the "Kesse" links with "Kesse (musician)|Kesse" instead. BUT NOTE: some of the old links are incorrect and should go to other Kesse articles! Fix them.

That's as far as I got, but another editor then did the next step:

• Search for and find additional "Kesse" articles and added them.

Hi, IP userAre you User:Green-u2? You must have made the edit while signed in to your account on Wikipedia. The post above was not made while you were signed in, either. Try signing in to your account, and see if the problem persists. Could I get banned for editing a source?

I think you are referring to a block, not a ban(they are different). Instead of worrying about being blocked, you should discuss what you want to do with other editors on the relevant article talk page. What is the reason you want to change it? 331dot (talk) 23:20, 9 January 2020 (UTC)

@New3400: the only way you can get blocked for that would be to make the change after it has already been discusse on the article's talk page and the consensus was against the edit. It's best to discuss first as 331dot suggested, but even if you just go ahead and make a simple good-faith edit in an effort to improve Wikipedia, the worst that is supposed to happen is that someone reverts your change, and then you are supposed to discuss it. @New3400: Oh! I thought of another way! If you are changing the link and others think you are attempting to drive web traffic to the new site, then you might be spamming, and the anti-spam editors will generally react forcefully. See WP:SPAM. -Arch dude (talk) 00:34, 10 January 2020 (UTC)

This website might be counted as a copyright violation (and we can't link to copyright violation in sources) but it's a gray area, but most importantly, this website won't be alive in 6 months and then all the URLs in your sources will be broken. – Thjarkur (talk) 01:13, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

These kinds of services usually only stay up for a short while. They either get a cease and desist and are required to shut down, or the owners just stop spending the money needed to support it. Linking to YouTube itself or a respectable archiving website (one with a reputation for staying up for years) prevents link rot. – Thjarkur (talk) 00:33, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
