Curiousness over at Playstation (console)[edit]

I noticed that in the PlayStation_console#Development section just after where it says "The PlayStation was also known as the PS-X" there is a spurious closing bracket - but looking at the source, I cannot see where it comes from. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the {{ref}} etc tags, but I don't know much about them to investigate.

And secondly - why does the [edit] tab not appear next to "History" and "Development"? I had to edit the entire document to view the Development source. I'm using Firefox, but I see the same behaviour with IE as well. Chaheel Riens (talk) 09:51, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's caused by this code:

Article protection[edit]

I am currently looking after the page of Ben Loyd Holmes, and a few days ago, the page was vandalised.

I would like some help with making this page Semi-Protected so this doesnt happen again?

The article on J. M. Ledgard was deleted yesterday. The reason given was "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion: copyright violation". The article on his novel Giraffe still exists. Maproom (talk) 15:07, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm interested in using info from the charts on comparison pages like: Comparison of project management software

1. Is is legal to use this information for a software product I want to sell?

As it says at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/David Crane, it may take a week or more for your draft to be reviewed. One area which you need to look at is referencing; please read WP:Referencing for beginners. Trying to improve article so that tags (needs citations) and (reads like a news release) can be removed[edit]

Hello, we are trying hard to improve the article on author Jeffrey Robinson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Robinson) by adding citations that will fulfill, hopefully, whatever is required to have the two tags removed from the top of the article (needs citations) and (reads like a news release). As this is on going, with more citations to come, could we ask, please, that someone take a look at the article and give us an indication of how we're doing and what else needs to be done to see the removal of the tags. Assistance needed to fix incorrect information in Accenture article[edit]

Hello, I'm currently working on behalf of Accenture to help improve their article here on Wikipedia and I noticed today that some information has been added to the article that is factually incorrect, and very concerning for the company. A user added a section called "Recent news" consisting of a single sentence: "In July 2013, Accenture announced it was in talks to acquire its rival Booz & Company." This statement is incorrect: Accenture has made no such announcement, and the Reuters source used here does not say that it has. While the Reuters article repeats speculative reports from the Wall Street Journal that Accenture and Booz are in talks it does not say Accenture announced these talks. I'd like to request that this sentence either be removed completely, or changed to read "In July 2013, Reuters reported that Accenture was in talks to acquire its rival Booz and Company." Due to my financial COI I won't make any direct edits to the article myself, so I need help from another editor to make the change.

Although I have posted a request to the article's Talk page, I'm also looking for help here as this incorrect information is a concern to the company that they'd like to get sorted out as soon as possible. Thanks, ChrisPond (Talk · COI) 18:25, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ChrisPond, since many article talk pages can be ghost towns with which you wait days if not weeks for even a reply I would recommend posting to all of the Wikiproject talk pages such as Companies and Business, even Chicago and Ireland for interested editors who are familiar with Accenture. If I get time later today I will see if I can help however it might be best to get an editor who is more well versed in the details on one of those wikiprojects. I used the shortened version in the article Daniel James (businessman) in the section "Cotton Famine Relief". It seems to work OK but on my PC when I jump to the report in Google Book and then hit the return arrow top of page right hand corner, it takes me back to my Contribution page and not the article. Even worst, after I had carried out the edit and saved it, the bounce back went to my article edit screen which is a bit worrying. I then tried from my wife's computer and it seems OK and reacted as expected. Would you please try it and see what happens.
