Ghost Adventures Season 6 needs to be revised

Note that those episodes are listed at List of Ghost Adventures episodes § Special episodes. I'm not familiar with the show, but this seems to be a separate type of episode, out of sequence with the mainstream ones for the season. The official website lists them by production season, not the season they air, and so is not useful, though I'll note that those two eps do not appear in the "by season" tab in the episode 6 guide. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 10:48, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

Yemen there is no indication to Aden Crater area which is one of the biggest craters in yemen also Dhamt area which is active

deleted article

hello, user Fastily deleted the article Vienna Symphonic Library a year ago. Fastily, sadly, left WP due to frustration with other users. so i cannot ask him to revive the article in my own user space so that i can have a critical look at it. can anyone help? i'm familiar with the topic and professional enough to bring it back into WP without "copyright infringement". thanks! Sorry, but I won't be able to do this. We are not allowed to restore copyright violations. I checked to see if it was a complete copyright violation, and it isn't, but the opening section is a pure copy and paste from this site and the rest was mostly spam like, so not suitable. Where to go to solicit an administrator's/experienced editor's opinion?

Hi, is there a centralized location to request an administrator or another experienced editor's opinion? Sort of like WP:AIV, but less punish-y? I've dealt with a few admins, but I don't want to swamp the ones I know. My question is basically along the lines of "Hey, these sixty edits look real sketchy, but I don't want to revert all of them without a second opinion--would you take a look and offer some input?" Hey, thanks for the swift reply! I figured I was probably in the right area, here, but wasn't certain.

Essentially I see a ton of edits from IP user 200.82.224.124 at List of Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 and elsewhere. While some of the edits could be debated as useful and good-faith, ex: inserting line breaks between credited writers, fixing incorrectly attributed writers, some of the other edits seem disruptive. For example: Why are we using italics? Not using second set of single quotes to "close" the italics formatting. Changing commas to periods, etc.

I also found the Hot Wheels episode "The Shadow Zone" online (start at 0:50). The IP user corrected the writing credit from "Ken Pontac" to "Ken Kaufman", when it should be "Ken Kuperus". IP seems to be changing writer/director surnames a lot (Michael Dowding --> Michael Robison. John Mcintyre --> John Fawcett.) But not ALL of the changes are incorrect--just many. Confused yet? Anyhow, the IP is editing across various pages, and I suspect vandalism. I reverted these 38 edits yesterday because they didn't pass the smell test, and because a rudimentary IMDb search (I know, not WP:RS) couldn't verify any of the writers/directors he's crediting. I don't want to be rash, but I do think the IP needs to be scrutinized, and I was hoping to get a more experienced set of eyes on the case. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:19, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

I just did a new page on Assemblies

Hello I just did a new page as a previous page didnt exist however there was a link. Eliminating a redirect

A search for William Leveson takes one, via a redirect, to a disambiguation page titled William Leveson-Gower [1]. That redirect was questionable from the outset, I suspect, but now that there is an article on a William Leveson [2], can that redirect be eliminated so that the article on William Leveson can be simply titled William Leveson? At the moment a tempest in a teapot has arisen over the disambiguator in the article title, and the easiest solution would be to simply move the article to the title William Leveson, thus doing away with any need for a disambiguator as it would then be the primary article on the topic. But that can't happen until the redirect is eliminated. Can that be done? Any help with this would be much appreciated (probably by more persons than myself. :-) NinaGreen (talk) 14:30, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Titles for disambiguation pages

Is a disambiguation page supposed to be titled as such? Currently a search for Thomas Savage goes straight to a disambiguation page which is not titled as such [5], which means there can't be a primary article titled merely Thomas Savage. Can the existing disambiguation page for Thomas Savage be retitled Thomas Savage (disambiguation) to make room for a primary article merely titled Thomas Savage? A disambiguation page is only titled as such if there is a primary topic. For example there is considered to be a primary topic for George Washington. Therefore the disambiguation page is at George Washington (disambiguation). Only if there is no primary topic should the disambiguation page should be at the plain title, e.g. Thomas Savage. What should not be happening is that an undisambiguated term, for example Thomas Savage, redirects to a disambiguated one, for example Thomas Savage (disambiguation). If there is no primary topic, there is no '(disambiguation)' included in the disambiguation article title. This does not mean however that one of the existing Thomas Savages can be designated the primary topic simply because one does not yet exist. You should probably go through the WP:RM procedure to see if consensus agrees that one use of that name is much more likely to be searched for above all others (as in the George Washington example). As for Thomas Savage, there are a large number of people with this name or a slight variant, none seemingly more 'primary' than any other. Suggesting the present situation with this disambiguation page is at the moment, correct. Benea (talk) 20:49, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the informative response. I don't think this approach is intuitive for Wikipedia editors and users, though, and I would respectfully suggest that your explanation be placed on an appropriate policy page. I've searched a number of times in the past for an explanation such as this, and haven't been able to find it anywhere. With all due respect, though, and recognizing that the status quo is unlikely to change, I think what would be intuitive to both Wikipedia editors and users is to have each and every disambiguation page clearly designated as such in the article title, e.g. Thomas Savage (disambiguation). Then both Wikipedia editors and users would know exactly what was what. That would mean there would have to be a primary article for every topic, but I don't think that would be a real problem. Good lord, it would. Pick one from John Smith, just for an example. As a counter argument though, imagine all the readers searching for John Smith, getting a baseball player (for example) and wondering where to go from there. And the phenomenal level of arguments each week as someone vied for their candidate to be the primary John Smith. This 'pick one' is the far less intuitive method. No, the policies are quite sound here (for pages outlining them, well start with Wikipedia:Disambiguation, and run from there. WP:MOSDAB also sets out some of the basics.) If you're seriously set on changing the status quo though, I'd direct you to those specific pages first, rather than continuing this here. Benea (talk) 21:39, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

No, I'm not about to challenge the status quo. :-) I've gone through the disambiguation pages you mention, but couldn't find anything which clarified what you've explained above and on my Talk page. I'm merely suggesting that it would be good to have it as a policy statement somewhere so that editors like me can refer to it and get a better idea as to whether or not to create a disambiguation page or to put an entry on it. I still find it counter-intuitive that in some cases disambiguation pages have (disambiguation) in the page title, and other disambiguation pages don't have (disambiguation) in the page title. I think this is Google's Knowledge Graph rearing its ugly head again. The data displayed there below the faint "Wikipedia" link does not come from Wikipedia. You will have to contact Google to have it removed.--ukexpat (talk) 18:18, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

If you do a Google search on Shawn Thompson, it will list a birth date of September 1, 1951. But it does not say it came from Wikipedia.

We have no control over what is posted there, but you do.

Note the small print under the image "Feedback/More info"

page deleted and want to retrieve back

Hi Esyamradzuan. That article (Datuk Ahmad Fauzi Zahari) was written entirely in another language (Malaysian). This is the English Wikipedia and so our articles must be in English.

That being said this is a bit of a weird situation, for a number of reasons. If the text was all yours, and you were creating it in the language you are comfortable with, and then were going to translate it into English, that would be fine if you were going to work on it as a subpage (it would not belong in the main part of the encyclopedia while it remained in another language). However, if the content was taken from the Malaysian Wikipedia, then it would be properly deleted under section A2 of the Criteria for speedy deletion ("CSD A2"), which is for articles in another language that already exist on another Wikipedia project. It would also, in that case, have been technically a copyright violation, as you provided no attribution.

If there was no indication it was a copyright problem, I would simply restore it to a subpage in your userspace. However, since it was deleted under CSD A2, that indicates it was copied from another project—but after looking, I can't find it. Adding to the mess, I have many times seen articles improperly deleted under CSD A2 simply because they were not in English, which might have happened here. So, I feel constrained not to restore it, even though I can't find that it was a valid CSD A2 deletion after looking.

I know this message may be difficult to understand for a non-English speaker as I think you are (it might be procedurally difficult to understand for a native speaker, not intimately familiar with Wikipedia processes). But, regardless, I thought I'd lay out my thinking why I, at least, am not going to undelete it. Changing a page name de:Tonka (Musiker)

A while ago Heiko (2:56, 20. Apr. 2008‎) had edited a page de:Tonka (Musiker) The problem is that the information is currently incorrect. The DJ's name has changed back to DJ Tonka in 2011. As i dont have the ability to rename the page, please would you be so kind to rename it back to DJ Tonka?
