Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles Live @ 1972 Sunshine Festival, Diamondhead Crater, Hawaii[edit]

I arrived in Honolulu Airport 17 Sep 1971 to report to my duty station, USS HADDOCK SSN621, which was in USNSY; Pearl Harbor; Drydock #2. I WAS THERE...for the Sunshine Fest '72 inside Diamondhead Crater, and when the album was released about six months later, I had to have it, for it was to be the first concert that I attended that was to be recorded live. The album that I have doesn't show the title 'Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles Live' in red ink that you show on your site, could it be a 're-release'? Re. Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles! Live!. The cover we use could be a re-release; I cannot tell. The file information page does not help, in this case. A google image search certainly implies that that (red inked) cover is common enough, but you might also spot the one you have there too.
You might get more information by asking on our Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment.
If you do find out, please edit the article and add to it. Some example article which show 2 different covers (from which, you could perhaps copy the layout) include: Impossible Princess, Impossible Princess, and Off the Wall. File extension does not match MIME type[edit]

My friend sent me the word documents that I want to upload to the wiki page. I had tried several times and switches to different browsers as well. But I keep getting this message "file extension does not match MINE type"

In fact, all the files are .doc types. What is the problem?

Sorry, but you can't upload word documents to Wikipedia. The only files we upload here are multimedia files that are to be used in articles (See WP:FILE). If you're trying to include the contents of your word documents in an article, you'll have to type it in or copy-paste as usual. However it sounds like you're not the author of these documents, which would mean you don't own the copyrights for them. In that case, please don't use them in Wikipedia articles. How to change a color of a football player's infobox[edit]

I'm a football fan and I like to help update football articles, and with the NFL Draft happening I have been updating a lot of new NFL players' articles. I am unsure how to color the infoboxes on a players' article, which changes based on the team a player plays for. (edit conflict) If you're talking about the team colours, they are automatically changed when you add the player's team to the currentteam parameter in the infobox. You've been doing it wrong so far; you have to add the team name without wikilinking it for this to work. See the example changes I made to Curtis Brown and Greg Little articles. Template to convert from U.S. postal abbreviation to full state name[edit]

Can someone fix my broken template?[edit]

Something is screwed up with the #switch: parser function, but I don't know what. I created Template:Area code box/states to work with Template:Area code box in lieu of having 80 million separate templates in Category:Area code templates. (Check the history of Template:Area code box to see the change I'm making, which will also eventually apply to S1, S2, etc.) Something in the third #switch: in Template:Area code box/states is broken, but I'm not sure where. (The first switch converts from an abbreviation to a linked full name, the second one specifies singular or plural, and the third one lists the relevant area codes.) Thanks!! OK, it looks like you won't be able to upgrade to IE9, because it does not support XP. I currently use Firefox 4, and it supports XP and multilingual spelling, so I recommend, if you want to fix this small problem, download Firefox 4. If the problem still persists, please tell if so. Merging two articles into a third (new) article[edit]

I was considering proposing the articles Hamedori and Gonzo pornography into a third, so far nonexistent article First person pornography. However, neither article is frequently edited and I am worried that reaching a consensus would be nearly impossible. Is there another place for discussion so that a better consensus can be reached? You understood correctly about my intentions, but my main worry is that there won't be enough discussion for a clear consensus. BTW: Where should the discussion take place? The discussion if you go that way should take place at either one of the two existing article talk pages. The other talk page should have a notice about the merge discussion. The other way to do it is to be bold and just do it. Then see if there are any objections. Gonzo pornography has only 40 editors watching and Hamedori has has less than 30 soyou will probably get minimal response to a merge discussion. GB fan (talk) 11:38, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I will have the discussion on the Gonzo pornography page as there are more editors watching it. However, Wikipedia:Merging states that the discussion should take place on the target article's talk page; if I were to create Talk:First person pornography just for the discussion, that would fall under G8 of the criteria for speedy deletion; hence my confusion. Can I add pages about a company or organization?[edit]

You can, but it must follow the guidelines at WP:ORG and not be a conflict of interest (i.e. you are an employee at Pat and Frank's Fish and Chips and make an article about them or heavily edit one). Crisco 1492 (talk) 12:11, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you have not written for Wikipedia before, Wikipedia:Your first article might be a good place too look. Bear in mind that if the article does not fulfil the criteria at WP:ORG it will probably be deleted rather quickly. Have you tried Wikipedia's Reference Desk? They specialize in knowledge questions and will try to answer just about any question in the universe (except how to use Wikipedia, since that is what this Help Desk is for). Undectetable Single Failure Point on Scott system[edit]

I have analyzed the Scott Transformer design providing three-phase power using two single phase thansformers. Failure mode analysis determined that when there is and iterruption of power (open circuit ) to the primary coil of one of the tranformers, the fault is not detected by the user or the power distribution company. The Scott set-up also called T method or B connection, was first used by Mr. Tesla for two-phase distribution. I would like to have confrmation that my analysis is correct.

Sranan Tongo Babel Box Category[edit]

I'm having trouble figuring out how to get a link to my userpage to appear in Category:User srn, which I just created. There's one other Wikipedian, User:Akiora, who has the Sranan Tongo babelbox on their userpage, but that link doesn't appear either. The simplest way is to add the following to your userpage: [[Category:User srn]].
Since you're using {{Babel}} and the other user is, too, I imagine you'd like to fix it so it automatically groups you, as it's supposed to. When you are reading an article and see a references section near the bottom populated by a series of numbered citations, you might think that if you edit the page, you will see those citations typed in that section and be able to edit them. However, normally what you will see is code similar to this:

The text of citations is actually in the body of the article, directly next to statements or paragraphs the citations support, using <ref>(citation)</ref> tags, which display as footnotes (e.g.[1][2]) when you are reading an article. The template code shown above in the references section colates and displays all of the citations within the article in a numbered list in which the numbers correspond to the footnote numbers in the text. By clicking on the ^ symbol next to a citation display, you can easily find exactly where in the body of the article the citation text appears in order to edit it. Songs as references/sources[edit]

Citation Style Help[edit]

Where can I find more information about the citation style used in The Beatles, as I would like to use something similar in an article I've written. Specifically the placing a short name for the source under 'References', linked to the full details of the source under 'Sources'.
