Thank you for another good one! - For a surprise, a Bach cantata is on the Main page today, where it was last year for the 300th anniversary, and they were too lazy to find something new ;) - Look at my story, and listen to the 3 whole-tone steps and the dialogues of Fear and Hope. - An open letter open to be signed (more info on the talk), - I haven't checked if you did, please ignore then. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:11, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Congrats. Always nice to have a Bach cantata on the main page... especially compared to the threats of doxxing and whatnot. I may sign with my real name, but it's not necessary. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 21:16, 7 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello!
This is to let you know that File:Jaws movie poster.jpg, a featured picture you uploaded or nominated, has been selected as the English Wikipedia's picture of the day (POTD) for June 20, 2025. A preview of the POTD is displayed below and can be edited at Template:POTD/2025-06-20. If you have any concerns, please place a message at Wikipedia talk:Picture of the day. Thank you! –Dream out loud (talk) 22:29, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
Jaws is an American thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley. Released on June 20, 1975, it stars Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, who, with the help of a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a professional shark hunter (Robert Shaw), hunts a man-eating great white shark that attacks beachgoers at a summer resort town. Regarded as a watershed moment in motion picture history, Jaws was the prototypical summer blockbuster and won several awards for its music and editing. It was the highest-grossing film of all time until the release of Star Wars two years later; both films were pivotal in establishing the modern Hollywood business model, which pursues high box-office returns from action and adventure films with simple high-concept premises, released during the summer in thousands of theaters and advertised heavily. No-target errors on the front page
[edit]Hi, I just fixed a no-target error in Mały Brzostek, which is soon to be on the front page as part of DYK. The error had been present since the article was moved to mainspace in October. Are articles not checked for such reference errors before being allowed onto the main page, and if not, where would I go to suggest that they are? Thanks, DuncanHill (talk) 22:08, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi DuncanHill, and good catch. Those errors are not covered under the WP:DYKCRIT, though it would be good to catch them. If you want to go to suggest that they be added to the criteria, WT:DYK is the best spot. That being said, the entry bar for DYK is fairly low compared to the GA and FA processes, so I don't expect there to be much positive response. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 01:03, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
