  1. czar (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) YES! Finally! Gale has access to niche game-related publications to which we had crowdsourced access at WPVG. I don't have access to Gale through my current institution and would love the added coverage of OneFile. I also edit in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and sometimes log my database usage. czar 19:54, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  4. Diannaa (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) As mentioned by Nikkimaria here, it appears that this resource includes access to the New York Times archives. This would be very helpful for copyright clean-up, as when working on certain CCI cases I routinely use up my 10 free looks per month long before the end of the month. 5. Oceanflynn (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) This would be amazing to have access to Gale's educational resources which includes the New York Times. 6. Teblick (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) My primary area of interest is old-time radio, but I also work on articles related to television and film. The periodicals in Gale's resources could be of much help in providing information about programs, productions, and the people involved with them. I understand that the last 30 years or so of the New York Times are included in Infotrac. Those issues alone would be valuable. I have used NYT obituaries when I found them online, but the site limits the number of articles a user can read via that method. My commitment to creating articles for Wikipedia can be seen in the titles listed on my user page. I have created more than 50 articles and have strengthened many others through editing (primarily via addition of material and citations). Eddie Blick (talk) 01:05, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I primarily edit radio station articles and focus on those located in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland. I wish it use Gale Directories to access historic information regarding radio stations. This would help with blank spots in histories, ownership changes, frequency changes, etc. It would also be of use for radio stations that have long since signed off. I write on a variety of subjects (though lately I've been working on a variety of bird articles, and am hoping the academic article component will include content on particular species): I've had 10 articles, predominantly written by me, achieve good status and 3 have been promoted as featured articles – with a few in the pipeline. I often use research access to help others with their writing efforts here, as well as to check sources for verification. I also spend quite a bit of time checking claimed and suspected copyright violations, which requires access to a diversity of sources.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:23, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've won the Million Award for taking the first two of those articles to good article status, and now is the time to take them to featured article status and to expand and improve related articles, creating necessary new articles for related topics along the way. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (Watch my talk, How I edit) 23:39, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  40. Psiĥedelisto (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Hello. I submit myself for your consideration. I am a new editor, but I could really benefit from this resource. To give you an idea of my commitment, when I couldn't find enough sources for West Coast Customs, I bought a subscription to Newspapers.com to help me fill it out. I have expanded 3x Deseret alphabet, I have expanded and cited everything needed to Vladislav Surkov, I have filled a ten year old request at Talk:Dust Bowl. When I noticed wrong information at the Japanese Wikipedia, I commissioned a translation to correct it. When Allen Quist complained at the Help Desk about his BLP, I found reliable sources for the disputed claims. The subscription is getting expensive for me though since this is a volunteer work for me. I work in private industry and live in Philippines. Every library here is very strict: students only, unless you know the head librarian (I don't). I never graduated even middle school and am self taught. My father was a foreigner who instilled in me a love of learning (as well as being, I think, the only Filipino native Esperanto speaker), but his early death put an abrupt end to my education. I have so much more I want to do: my area of greatest interest is writing systems and languages, which scholarly journals will surely help with; I love history, and surely the Infotrac NewsStand would help me out there. According to my research, Gale has some Filipino newspapers, I'd love to use it to expand Filipino topics here on Wikipedia also. I want to research the history of the Smiley face, I want to expand and reference our article about Baybayin, I want to dive into topics like American settlement in the Philippines, Baguio#History, and more. Thank you very much for your time and I hope I've done enough to demonstrate my commitment to this great project to avail of this opportunity. Psiĥedelisto (talk) 07:54, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  41. Donner60 (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I have been a regular contributor since July 2010. I have created 111 article pages, many of which are biographies. I have begun work on two more biographies. I also have done much work in counter-vandalism where checking outside sources for verification is often necessary or helpful. Occasionally, I add references to unreferenced or insufficiently referenced articles. This library, especially with the added biography database, appears to be very useful for references for new and existing articles which I create or to which I contribute and for verification of new edits. Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 07:40, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Pending: I would love to approve your subscription request but before I do that, I need to state a few things. We have very few out of 50 accounts left to distribute, therefore would want to give away to who needs it most. While I was going through your contribution log, I noticed that most of edits made in last 6 months (~20,000) are automated, and there are probably no active drafts (at least online) you are working on. If you can (please!) specify for what articles/drafts you need this resource, I will be happy to take a second look. For now, I've put your request on hold and will approve it when more accounts become available (quite a few subscriptions are set to expire this month, so it could be in next 20-25 days). Anup [Talk] 19:24, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am working offline on drafts for articles on George W. Smythe, a distinguished US Army colonel in World War II and brigadier general in the Korean War, Ebenezer Farrand, a US naval officer for 38 years who became one of nine flag officers of the Confederate States Navy, and the Battle of Butgenbach, an early part of the Battle of the Bulge. I wrote a section concerning this battle in my most recent article on John F. R. Seitz, which I posted in October so I have a start on it. This important action is not covered in other articles about the Battle of the Bulge. An entire book has been written about it so it is not a small engagement. Seitz was a US Army colonel in World War II and later a major general. Smythe had a similar record to Seitz's. While Seitz is my only original article in the last few months, it is comprehensive and uses quite a few sources. My earlier articles (both created, and substantial contribution) are shown in a section of my user page. I realize you may have noted them and admittedly, most of them date back a few years. I intend to transition back to more content creation and less patrolling in the next few months as I expressed on my user page but I know that may not be a distinguishing factor. (I had not realized there were such a limited number of accounts available.) Certainly I understand that these accounts should be distributed to those who need them most or appear most likely to use them currently. That means that others may need to wait for other accounts to become available. I can see that the limited number of accounts for this library have made this a more difficult task than the distribution of accounts to libraries to which Wikipedia has many more available. Thank you for your reply and your work on this library project. Donner60 (talk) 06:50, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  43. Star Garnet (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) Access to these features would help with hundreds of biographies of American diplomats that I have planned. Star Garnet (talk) 13:28, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  44. Teblick (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I began working on Wikipedia in 2014, focusing primarily on old-time radio and its people. Since then I have also worked on articles about on TV and film of the past and the people involved with them. Gale's resources offer much that can help in these areas. 46. Nizil Shah (talk · contribs · central auth · count · email) I am editing Wikipedia regularly for past five years. I am particularly interested in adding articles on history, people and politics of India. Wikipedia lacks coverage of topics related to India very much and the access would be helpful in filling that gap. Especially biographies.--Nizil (talk) 04:43, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
