  • I don't like the "selected... at outfielder" construction, but I'm not sure what to suggest as replacement prose; perhaps "in the outfield", piped to the position (example: Seven players were selected at shortstop and in the outfield).
  • Why didn't they get a compensation pick for Hochevar?
  • Honestly don't know. I checked the 06 draft, and it's not like they got a pick but traded it. And in 2005 the Orioles got a pick for failing to sign a supplemental pick so it's not that the rule didn't exist or didn't apply to supplemental round picks like Hochevar. Sidenote, I expanded on the 05 note to explain why they only had a supp. round pick and no main 1st round pick. Staxringold talkcontribs 17:15, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Nevermind, figured it out. I'd misread that Orioles signing, the original guy (Townsend) who didn't sign was a true first rounder. As this article notes, only non-supplementary first rounders got you compensation. Staxringold talkcontribs 17:20, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • You can take out "two" in the lead caption
  • "for assigning amateur players from high schools" amateur is clear from the end of the sentence
  • In the link to Free agent, perhaps specify the "Major League Baseball usage" heading in the link
  • I count six players from Texas
  • I'm not crazy about linking the states in the lead. Anyway, you link California twice.
  • Why not "Catcher Mike Scioscia (1976) won championships with both the 1981 and 1988 Dodgers teams
  • You say Howe's first name twice in the second paragraph
  • "the draft" is repeated twice in the third paragraph's first sentence
  • Maybe elaborate on why they didn't receive compensation for Hochevar? I saw above, but it should be in the article
  • Consider centering the left side of the key
  • (I said this in my Royals' review, but you didn't really react) This might seem odd, but another editor made this change to the LAA draft picks list. It makes sense, but I'll leave it up to you. I don't particularly care either way
  • The town for Repko's high school is Richland, not West Richland
  • St. Agnes High School is the wrong one (1969)
  • In Footnotes, teams are linked repeatedly but players aren't
  • Order the refs in note "n"
  • In note "o", they were the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" in 2006. I'd use the full name, but not sure about you
  • Again, the titles given for the second general reference and reference 3 and 10 don't match their actual title
  • You can add #2006 to the end of ref 13 to make it go down to the '06 summary. Also, consider adding "Draft Report: 2000s" to the end of the title
  • Refs 39 and 40 (1990) are the same
  • Refs 43 and 44 (1995) are the same
  • FWIW, you can remove everything after <refname="2005draft" /> in the 2005 table reference
