  • Comment Why are positions linked in both the second and third paragraphs? This is particularly harmful as it makes the links to players less noticeable. Also, in Scioscia's alt text, shouldn't it be "in a red warmup"? On the Anderson thing, I don't think it's worth mentioning, particularly as there's plenty of other stuff to discuss.   • If you abbreviate MLB, why not use it?
  • "the Rule 4 Draft is Major League Baseball's primary mechanism for assigning amateur baseball players from high schools, colleges, and other amateur baseball clubs to its franchises" no problem with the facts, but do we need the word baseball three times in one sentence?
  • Removed, since obviously the MLB draft is MLB's way of assigning baseball players, not amateur football players or something. Staxringold talkcontribs 21:51, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • For non-experts, is there an easy way of explaining how a player can be drafted and then not being signed?

  • I'm not quite sure how. Essentially all being drafted means is that team is the only MLB team you can be associated with for one year and they're drafting the rights to negotiate a contract with you. Sometimes players will reenter the draft if they feel like they were taken too low (and can do better) or aren't offered enough money (or, I guess, if drafted by a truly awful team). And then there's the near-unique case of J.D. Drew gaming the system with help from Scott Boras. Staxringold talkcontribs 21:51, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Closing note Even though this FLC garnered a support, I have archived this nomination as unsuccessful, as more than a month has passed since this FLC was submitted, and the length of FLC has put off reviewers.
