The result was redirect to Horse length. Actually, consensus is that this should not exist as a separate article, but more discussion may be needed to determine where to redirect or merge this to. I'm therefore closing it with a redirect, but that can be editorially changed as deemed appropriate. Sandstein 11:27, 26 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not quite sure what to do here. This is a word definition. There's no Glossary of horse racing terms to redirect to (best I could find is Glossary of Australian and New Zealand punting, which has a nose entry). Clarityfiend (talk) 06:03, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge it with a redirect to Horse racing, fix the double redirects, and call it a day. Diego (talk) 10:15, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge per Diego. It's definitely a notable term (I as a horse racing ignoramus am aware of it, for starters) but this article would only ever be a stub or a list if left alone. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 11:25, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep If you're not sure what to do then please don't bring it here because AFD is not cleanup. Possible merge targets include photofinish, list of dead heat horse races and glossary of equestrian terms. See also WP:ATD. Warden (talk) 16:11, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- List of dead heat horse races is a very bad merge location. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 20:57, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- It has an excellent picture of a triple tie which shows the significance of the nose. Anyway, here's another possibility which already includes an entry for nose: Glossary of Australian and New Zealand punting. Warden (talk) 22:03, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I don't that this should be in the Glossary of Australian and New Zealand punting section because its not a term used in those countries (At least to my knowledge...) It is one that is used in North America. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 14:02, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- In the UK it's widely used as an informal synonym for the official "short head", and the expression "by a nose" is often used metaphorically when talking about close results in other sports and competitions. Phil Bridger (talk) 18:42, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Horse length keeping the history if anyone wants to merge the "short head" part. After tea I'll try adding something non-copyvio to glossary of equestrian terms (thank you, Colonel). Thincat (talk) 18:24, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Strong Merge I can understand with state the article why it should be deleted but this is a well known definition for winning margins in American horse racing.Brudder Andrusha (talk) 13:58, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Storng merge into both North American Thoroughbred horse racing terminology AND Glossary of Australian and New Zealand punting plus anywhere else anyone else thinks it fits. Montanabw(talk) 01:18, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
