The result was speedy keep. Per WP:SKCRIT. The nomination statement is an appeal for attention and improvement -- at no point does the nominator make a case (or appear to believe) that the article subject is, in fact, non-notable. I don't think people are devoting enough attention to this article. Its simplewiki equivalent is much better and I suppose that we could expand the article from there, but in its current state this enwiki entry should be insufficient to remain as its own. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 15:27, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep There is plenty of content and sources in the Japanese and Simple versions with which to expand this article. The fact that it doesn't get much attention, or that the Simple version is better, is not a reason to delete this one. I have found significant coverage in the following books
    • Brokered Homeland: Japanese Brazilian Migrants in Japan, 2002, page:118, ISBN:9780801488085.
    • The art of the Japanese kite, 1980, Tal Streeter, Page:67
    • San Francisco, San Francisco Magazine, Incorporated, 1976
I think this is enough to meet WP:GNG. Sarahj2107 (talk) 16:01, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. As the nominator said, this can be expanded with sourced content from the Simple English Wikipedia, and it can also be expanded with content from the sources in the Japanese Wikipedia article and those found by Sarahj2107. The fact that that hasn't been done yet isn't a reason to delete the article - it is in fact far less likely that that will ever be done if we delete it. 86.17.222.157 (talk) 18:36, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - Passes WP:GNG - just needs a bit of expansion and elbow grease. -- Dane talk 03:12, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
