These accounts share an interest in Karan Singh Grover [1][2][3] and related topics (such as his wife, his successor at a particular series, and so on), promoting Grover while badmouthing his successor. When Nkapoor21 was blocked for edit-warring by repeatedly removing this content, Nikki2177 joined the same edit war with basically the same edit summary. The behavioural evidence at that page and at Karan Singh Grover (such as adding his initials as an "alternative name" [4][5]) was sufficient for me to block Nikki2177 for block evasion. However, since some of those articles were added by more than one of those accounts at the same time and since there are surprisingly many SPAs editing Grover and related topics, a sleeper check may be useful. I blocked User:Nikki2177 as a sock of Nkapoor21 on August 3. Within five hours, User:Oblivion-hazel-grace was created and started editing exactly the same articles, particularly Karan Singh Grover and his current wife, Jennifer Winget. While O-h-g makes some arguably useful edits, she's a POV-pusher who will routinely remove reliably-sourced content that might tarnish the image of Karan Singh Grover. [6] Like repeat edit-warrior Nkapoor21, she'll edit-war to keep unwanted information out of the article [7][8] (her claim that the Times of India doesn't support the statement in question is flat-out wrong, and the claim is repeated by sources O-h-g herself has touted as reliable). Account created four days after the last sock was blocked. Made just enough edits to establish autoconfirmed status, including one to my talk page to claim that Karan Singh Grover was being vandalized, and then immediately began editing the protected KSG article. The previous puppets has talked to me in IRC, including 'new' editors later confirmed as socks that came into -help and immediately pinged me when I was idle, out of a belief that I was 'sympathetic'. This shows a direct connection. The editor has made no edits to any articles unrelated to Karan Singh Grover, and has created a new article, Alone (2015 film) about a uncoming KSG movie. This is, quite apparently, the same obsessed KSG fan or their meatpuppet. Reventtalk 13:39, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I blocked Nikkic21 per WP:DUCK. Asad217 is behaviourally indistinguishable from past socks, a WP:SPA who made just enough edits to other articles to become autoconfirmed and now adds promotional trivia to Karan Singh Grover. Older socks may be stale; these two likely can be linked. There are also socks of User:Rishika.dhanawade active on that article, but I these two behaviourally and going by the usernames fit the Nkapoor21 pattern.   • Edit by User:Bipashakaran22 [9] exactly matches with User:Hrithik09's [10]. File:Bipasha_Karan_at_their_Reception.jpg was uploaded with watermark by User:Bipashakaran22 and when removed from Wikipedia articles were restored by Hrithik09 who also uploaded a new version of the image without watermark. Please also check for sleeper accounts and consider hard-block on IP addresses. It is them that article "Karan Singh Grover" (Protection log) is like always protected at least since last two years. Now using a proxy to try to get the image onto Karan Singh Grover. I don't have access to deleted revisions, but the archive suggests that pushing for File:KSG_at_HS3_Trailer_Launch.jpg or deleted similars (such as File:Bipasha Karan at their Reception.jpg) is a key characteristic (see [11], also targeting Amccann421). Nkapoor21's socks are primarily interested in Karan Singh Grover, particulaly in changing the article's images; these two accounts are named for his wife Bipasha Basu, an article past socks have also shown an interest in, and are changing that article's images. Their contributions here and at the Commons show a familiarity with Wikipedia and image licensing unlikely for brand-new accounts; the usernames strongly suggest a connection between the two. Since now apparently new socks are getting created before the elder ones are blocked, a sleeper check may be in order. Huon (talk) 23:22, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
