Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. reference sources[edit]

Hi, I would like to ask you that is there any rule that one can not cite a reference available in any other language(e.g., Urdu, Hindi)? In short, can I edit the english wikipedia with a source available in Hindi language?Ejaz92 (talk) 14:03, 1 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Ejaz92: Sorry, I have been on break. The 'rule' is that sources must be verifiable... they do not need to be online, or in English. An editor simply must, if willing to expend the effort, be able to verify the source. Most 'high quality' sources for historical information probably only exist as paper, or possibly 'scanned', references. Reventtalk 08:16, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stop tagging de minimis photos of places within the Philippines by User:Patrickroque1 with Template:Do not copy to Commons[edit]

I just notice adding the Do not copy to Commons template on photos by User:Patrickroque01. Some falls as de minimis so they can be copied to Commons with the Commons:Template:De minimis warning template. Can you stop tagging some of his photos as files that should be not copied to Commons due to Commons:FOP#Philippines? A copyrighted building or sculpture, if it is only a minimal or coincidental part of a work, such as a photo, should be considered de minimis?--TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 11:14, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@TagaSanPedroAko: I have been on wikibreak, but will take a look. While, to my understanding, the legal situation on 'de minimis' for the Philippines does not seem to have a clear domestic precedent, Commons seems to have generally used the US criteria (which would make sense, as it is a former US colony). The few I glance at seemed clearcut, and I will look at the bulk of them. Reventtalk 08:11, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 21:35:07, 23 February 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Plant Stress Doctor[edit]

We have decided to gift all copy written material on the chloroplast migration article to Wikipedia. Please provide the necessary documentation or form to complete the transaction. Plant Stress Doctor.Plant Stress Doctor (talk) 21:35, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Plant Stress Doctor (talk) 21:35, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Plant Stress Doctor: Please see Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries for details on how to do so. The gift needs to be verified 'off wiki' by OTRS volunteers, as a means of preventing impersonation, and to ensure that the license granted is explicit. It was quite a while ago, honestly... you should ensure that it's clear to the OTRS volunteers that this is referring to Draft:Chloroplast migration, so they can request it be undeleted once verified. My vague memory (it was long ago) was that the text would actually work quite well as an article.

Hey, thanks again[edit]

Heya! I just wanted to thank you again for helping with {{Mexico TV station table/entry}}.

I thought you might want to see some of the cool new tricks I've figured out and added to the template recently:

  • With Mexican TV stations beginning to make more extensive use of multiplexing to deliver multiple video streams, there's now a muxnets parameter that can be used to show the other services a station carries. It supports up to three subchannels and is already in use in a couple of entries.
  • In response to the digital transition, analog ERPs are now listed under the digital ERP where needed.

You can these innovations on List of television stations in Guanajuato. Thanks for the original help! Raymie (tc) 02:54, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Raymie: I, honestly, haven't even been active on Commons for the last couple of months, but I think it's very cool that you are still improving those lists, and keeping them up to date. I still think a 'generic' version of the templates, that could be used in other countries, would be a goodness, but... meh. Reventtalk 22:37, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@217.155.32.221: It's because it does the edits 'as' the person that commands it, not as a bot, and you can't upload to Commons without an account. If you just ask at Commons upload help page commons:COM:Upload help you'll probably get uploads done faster, at least for something as easy as stuff from Geograph. Impeachment Article[edit]

It was not a hoax. It was properly sourced to one journalist and one scholar. It was a good-faith silly thing to do, warranting a trout, not evidence of WP:NOTHERE. Robert McClenon (talk) 20:37, 11 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Robert McClenon: I didn't think it was a hoax, and didn't say so. I did think it 'might' have been a matter of someone who (with few edits) was here merely for political purposes, and that whoever closed it should look and see. This was the kind of thing, frankly, that could be innocent and silly... and the kind of thing dedicated trolls could try just to make Wikipedia look really, really stupid in the media. In recognition of the role you played in cleaning up my God-awful spelling and grammar in the World War I Op-Ed series published by the Military history WikiProject's newsletter The Bugle over the last four years, I hereby present you with this teamwork barnstar.
