Delete. No such station. 162 etc. (talk) 19:42, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete I'm guessing this is about a bus station at the zoo, if anything. There is no reason for a bus station to have an article or even a major section. This site has no stations there and google shows no search results. — Smuckola(talk) 11:06, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I can't confirm that such a bus station even exists. As stated above, it would have to have some kind of importance to even be mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia regardless. I agree. — CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 12:22, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is a bus station mentioned in the infobox FWIW, but I'm not sure that is really enough to justify a redirect. Presidentman talk · contribs (Talkback) 18:30, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    This is the bus stop [1]. Not a "station". 162 etc. (talk) 18:34, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Target article makes no mention of any station with a similar name. Ajf773 (talk) 02:49, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete for now. Feel free to recreate once there is substantive content on Bedrock. -- Tavix (talk) 14:40, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Previously was a redirect to Rocket Companies, but since that page was a redirect, this one has been left without a proper target, as it is not mentioned at Rocket Mortgage. Utopes (talk / cont) 07:41, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am working on an article extensively discussing Bedrock, and redirected it temporarily; perhaps it'd be more appropriate to direct to Rock Ventures, where Bedrock is mentioned. Truthfully, I'm still trying to figure out the hierarchy of Gilbert's enterprises, and where Bedrock falls, but either way, it's important for Bedrock to be directed somewhere, as its name appears as the owner on a number of buildings' articles. 42-BRT (talk) 16:37, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete for search results until 42-BRT comes up with a standalone article. Oppose targeting any building owned by the company. Plenty of articles on enwiki about buildings and towers owned by Bedrock Detroit. Jay 💬 13:40, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - The firm's name shouldn't go over to that specific building merely owned by the organization, in my opinion. I think that deletion is the right call. We can wait, as stated above, to see a standalone article if/when it comes about. — CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 12:29, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It is not helpful to redirect to a target that has no mention of the subject in question. These redirects do imply that these songs charted, so they may be notable per WP:NSONG. Deletion to encourage article creation may be desirable. -- Tavix (talk) 21:24, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unclear why this would be a valid search term, but it seems like an unlikely one. Hey man im josh (talk) 00:46, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. This is a typo that seems to have become a very minor meme, but not anything close to a notable one so the only question is whether it is a sufficiently plausible typo to be a useful redirect. Before I looked at the page views I was all ready to say delete, but this gets more hits than I expected, including a very significant spike to 40 views on 15 December that is perplexing me. Turkey actually got significantly fewer hits than average that day and it was a decidedly average day for Turkey (bird) and Turkey (disambiguation) so it doesn't seem plausible that views (at least on that day - the 20 November hits do correlate with increased views for all these titles, undoubtedly due to US Thanksgiving) are solely people looking for those article, and December 15 offers no obvious clues either. The redirect was only created on 20 November, so there isn't any long term information about its use. I'm very tempted to say keep for now and review in ~3-6 months so we have some useful data to work with. Thryduulf (talk) 02:20, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: It'd be a valid search term b/c y is next to t, but this is a minor meme and not very plausible. I theorize the spike was caused by a discussion about it in the Discord server; where yurkey has been a running joke. I've always wanted to RfD this but didn't have the heart. • weak keep {{R from typo}} [T] key next to [Y] key on standard QWERTY English language keyboards -- 65.92.247.66 (talk) 04:06, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment On one hand, R from typo applies. On the other, I am quite sure that the majority of the daily hits actually come from the discord server, based on the amount of times the meme comes up every day. I'm guessing that most people who search "yurkey", an otherwise plausible typo, would have the error pre-corrected by spellcheck/google/etc. Fermiboson (talk) 11:18, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - it’s an entirely plausible typo (the letters are right next to each other on the keyboard) and Wikipedia:Redirects are cheap. Di (they-them) (talk) 23:03, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment since it happened to be linked on the Wikimedia Discord, where it is a meme - I don't think it's an implausible redirect as it is, but it could be retargeted to da share z0ne, where the meme originates. LilianaUwU (talk / contributions) 23:08, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete – neither arguments make sense to me. I thought Yurkey (a meme ostensibly from the da share z0ne social media account) was referencing a misspelling of turkey (the animal), so redirecting to Turkey (the country) does not make sense. As for the typographical error for the country, it seems somewhat plausible but not common enough per se (like Untied States or mispell); would this redirect's existence justify other entries like Yhailand etc? R from typo generally contains common misspellings rather than combinations of every hypothetical typographical error possible (of which there are very many).  LunaEatsTuna (💬)— 17:56, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Seems to be a surname. Delete to encourage article creation, people with that surname might be notable. SouthParkFan2006 (talk) 12:27, 25 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Luna and Queen. Recently created and not a plausible misspelling. If the meme had a mention in some article, this could have been a redirect. Jay 💬 15:16, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Doesn't seem like a plausible misspelling for Turkey, and by Di's logic the redirect Ynited States would be a plausible typo which is simply ridiculous. The term in not currently mentioned in the other potential target da share z0ne. Also, creating a redirect based on a meme that may be short-lived does not seem like the most useful thing to do when considering the WP:10Y test. The Night Watch (talk) 19:05, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per everyone. Implausible and needless, not helping users. — Smuckola(talk) 19:09, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Per LunaEatsTuna and Queen of Hearts – this is not a notable meme and one of many equally (im)plausible misspellings – and I see no reason to have redirects for all of them. I also agree that some of the spikes in pageviews may be due to the Wikipedia Discord, and discussion of the meme has since died down considerably there (not that what happens on Discord is reason to have a redirect here). Complex/Rational 22:34, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Yes, "Y" is next to "T" on the keyboard, but this is clearly a meme / joke and not a plausible typo. We don't create redirects for every possible typo (Inited Dtates, Freat Vritain, Femocratic Tepublic pf yhe Vongo anyone?). Not mentioned on da share z0ne article, so a redirect there isn't much help either. – GnocchiFan (talk) 15:54, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fizeau–Foucault apparatus[edit]

The result of the discussion was disambiguate. Jay 💬 11:12, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Originally, descriptions of two separate experiments were combined in the Fizeau–Foucault apparatus article. This article was moved to the current redirect target (which now covers only Foucault's experiment), and the description of Fizeau's experiment has been split off into Fizeau's measurement of the speed of light in air. The redirects are therefore now in violation of WP:XY, so my proposal is to Delete them. However, there may be a case for turning the main redirect (with the ndash rather than the hyphen) into a dab page between the two experiments. Tevildo (talk) 14:40, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguate Several years ago, I had researched the origin of the term "Fizeau–Foucault apparatus" while doing a significant re-write of the article. The earliest mention of this portmanteau term coincided with the appearance of this article in Wikipedia in 2002, where the original author of the article obviously didn't know the difference between the rotating mirror and toothed wheel methods for performing the speed of light measurement. Correcting the naming of the original article, which described the rotating mirror measurement of the speed of light, should have been accomplished back in 2002. Unfortunately it wasn't, and "Fizeau–Foucault apparatus" has since spread around the Internet.
Given the circumstances, I don't believe that "Fizeau–Foucault apparatus" (however cringeworthy I personally find the term) should be deleted. Converting into a dab page is probably the best. Prokaryotic Caspase Homolog (talk) 15:15, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Tevildo: If you agree with the dab, can you or Prokaryotic Caspase Homolog draft the dab at the ndash redirect page, and I or another editor can close the discussion. Jay 💬 13:35, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Jay: No problem - do I leave the RfD template in place, or just replace the content with the DAB page? Tevildo (talk) 23:32, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can leave the RfD template in place and create the dab draft under it. Jay 💬 04:03, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
