- Individual-1 → Donald Trump#Special counsel investigation (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- Individual One → Donald Trump#Special counsel investigation (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned in the target article, and the target section does not exist (anymore). My first consideration was to "refine" to Donald Trump#Mueller investigation since they seems to be what the current target is meant to refer, but the issue of the redirects not being mentioned in the target article still exists. Other options I found were the articles Mueller special counsel investigation and Mueller report, but the redirects do not seem to be mentioned there either. However, this is an alternative name that has several sources ... not sure what the best path is here, but my thoughts are, in order of preference, delete (due to lack of mention), retarget to Donald Trump (remove the section redirect), retarget to Donald Trump#Muller investigation (but it's not mentioned there), or retarget to Mueller special counsel investigation and Mueller report (no mention at either one, my stance is equal on both). Early life and career of Donald Trump
[edit]- Early life and career of Donald Trump → Donald Trump#Early life (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
In the target article's current state, the title of this redirect creates a potential WP:XY issue since the target section does not exist and the plausible section correction, Donald Trump#Early life and education, does not have any information about a "career". My first thought to fix this was to retarget to Donald Trump (remove the section redirect) since technically both subjects are in the target article somewhere, but since there seems to be no specific section to target this redirect, I decided to bring this redirect up for discussion since "delete" (weak delete for me) could be an option per the aforementioned WP:XY issue. Steel1943 (talk) 23:36, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- This should probably be a redirect if only because of the existence of the comparable Early life and career of Kamala Harris as an article. I don't mind if this is unrefined or kept as is, as it doesn't require much scrolling to get from Donald Trump#Early life and education to Donald Trump#Business career. - Religion of Donald Trump → Donald Trump#Religion (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
The target section no longer exists. The target article does not seem to contain the specific subject referenced by these redirects: Words beginning with "relig*" exist in the article, but where these words are do not seem to provide information to satisfy readers who are searching these phrases. And ... there does not seem to be a standalone article to target these redirects. (Also, for what it's worth, none of these redirects are {{R from history}} or {{R from merge}}.) - Clear keep – this is an eminently plausible, if semantically incorrect, search term. Pageviews demonstrate this. Furthermore, K4 applies as this redirect is an {{R from move}}. J947 ‡ edits 22:38, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Keep per J947. Might be worth noting that that move was in 2007, however. Tessaract2Hi! 19:26, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
- Strong keep. The possessive form is used to demonstrate a relationship, it's not necessarily ownership (otherwise phrases like "my wife" would be problematic!). "Jimmy Carter's rabbit" would therefore be a correct way to refer to a rabbit that allegedly attacked Jimmy Carter. If a victim is describing someone that attacked them, it would be natural to start the sentence with the possessive phrase "My attacker..." That it's a {{R from move}} and doesn't appear to be ambiguous strengthens the argument. -- Tavix (talk) 20:05, 3 January 2025 (UTC)

Without additional qualification, these terms seem a bit too broad and U.S.-centric to make good redirects to this specific topic. 2024 AP Poll
[edit]- 2024 AP Poll → 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football rankings#AP Poll (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Seems ambigous but I'm not totally sure what would be a better target. Could refer to 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball rankings, 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball rankings, 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball rankings, 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball rankings. But college football is the only one that only uses 2024. Esolo5002 (talk) 04:23, 27 November 2024 (UTC)

- Struck off the "vague" comment, since I see that we have an article with title AP poll (lowercase though). Jay 💬 07:47, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- I don't agree with your point of "Polls are not rankings" (or actually the relevance); the AP is polling writers to create a ranking. There is no official or even primary "NCAA Division I rankings", there are just the individual polls (AP, Coaches, CFP, etc.). Legoktm (talk) 06:40, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

- Question - Does the Associated Press ever run polls on politics or things other than sports that could also be confused? Genuinely asking, I don't know. Fieari (talk) 00:45, 12 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes (e.g. https://www.norc.org/research/projects/the-ap-norc-monthly-poll.html), but I don't think any of those would ever be described as just the "AP Poll" in the same way that the college athletics ones are. Legoktm (talk) 06:36, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

- The drafted page could be a WP:SIA under a title like 2024 NCAA Division I rankings, and 2024 AP poll could be an {{R from avoided double redirect}} to it. Jay 💬 07:47, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep but also okay with the disambiguation page that was created. Of the sports that have an AP poll, college football is the only one that uses a single year for the season, while college basketball is a winter sport that is always two years (e.g. "2023-2024"), so the "2024 AP Poll" seems to clearly be the football one (while e.g. "2023-2024 AP poll" should be a disambig for the two basketball polls). Not against a disambiguation, as it's certainly better than deletion. I am pretty skeptical that people typing in 2024 AP Poll would be looking for an Andhra Pradesh election. Peanutgate
[edit]- Peanutgate → Jimmy Carter (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned in target article, making the connection between the target and the redirect unclear. In addition, third party search engines seem to associate this phrase with Peanut the squirrel for some reason, but the redirect isn't mentioned in that article either. Steel1943 (talk) 20:40, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment. I'd assume it refers to the handling of Jimmy Carter's peanut farm while it was placed in a blind trust, but couldn't tell you for sure. – Closed Limelike Curves (talk) 21:36, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Refine to § Allegations and investigations, with a hatnote to Peanut the squirrel . The terms seems to be used by the media to refer to the investigations on Jimmy Carter's peanut farm. [1][2]
- However, it is also used to describe the Peanut the squirrel incident. [3][4] Ca talk to me! 07:17, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
BlueAir
[edit]This revision essentially states why this redirection is unclear: The version of this phrase without a space seems to more commonly refer to the brand of air purifiers owned by Unilever. Redirecting readers to the current target with this title is misleading. With that being said, I'm not sure if delete per WP:REDLINK (the brand seems notable) or weak retarget to Unilever would be more helpful here, considering a hatnote placed on the latter may be a bit confusing since there's no real clear place in Unilever to place a respective hatnote referring readers to the nominated redirect's current target, though the redirect is currently mentioned in Unilever. Steel1943 (talk) 20:30, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- The air purifiers are Blueair, not BlueAir. I think this version is a very plausible incorrect name for both the air purifier and the airline. However, the image and mention of "BlueAir" at the current target and the prominence of the airline over the air purifier as encyclopaedic topics mean to keep with hatnote is preferable IMO. Nick Begich, Jr.
[edit]- Nick Begich, Jr. → List of United States political families (B)#Begiches (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
There are a lot of mentions of this guy across Wikipedia, so I'm not really sure where the best target is or if there's a good target. I would propose WP:RETURNTORED, but the article at Nick Begich (author) got deleted earlier this month, so it doesn't seem like he's notable as of now. Possible targets include the current one and HAARP#Conspiracy theories (where there are claims of a merge to at the AFD, and at least it sounds like there used to be a redirect to there, but I can't see the page history and it feels like a weird target). I would probably keep as-is, but I figured it was worth a nomination. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 16:49, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- There's four articles which appear to have discussion of this bloke from a cursory search:
- Nick Begich III#Early life and family – Begich was born to Nick Begich Jr., an author and business owner
- Tom Begich#Personal life – his brother Nick Jr., is a conspiracy theorist author, scientist, and researcher
- High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program#Conspiracy theories – Nick Begich Jr., the son of the late U.S. Representative Nick Begich Sr., brother of former U.S. Senator Mark Begich and retired Alaska state senator Tom Begich, and father of current U.S. Representative Nick Begich III is the co-author of Angels Don't Play This HAARP
- List of United States political families (B)#Begiches – Nick Begich Jr. (born 1958), candidate for Governor of Alaska 1998, candidate for Alaska state representative 2004. Son of Nick Begich and Margaret Begich and father of Nicholas Begich III
- They leave three options in my opinion: target #3, target #4, or delete to search results. I think target #3, the natural target, is best – so weak keep. There's about the same amount of info there as at target #4, but it's a redirect to a list which exists for that purpose, as opposed to the perhaps unwise profile of him before introducing his conspiracy theories as found at target #4. Search results are slightly less preferable than these two options in my opinion. J947 ‡ edits 23:16, 4 January 2025 (UTC)

- keep, preferably speedily now. if a not-very-native english speaker would mistake "fila" for something, it'd be one of the word's meanings in other languages, like "queue" in portuguese (whatever that is). even then, it's also pretty implausible that someone would type "chick-fil" expecting literally anything other than that tortured pun of a restaurant chain consarn (formerly cogsan) 12:44, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Retarget to Names of the United States#Names in the Asian cultural sphere where discussed; compare previous discussions on 미국 and 美利坚合众国. 59.149.117.119 (talk) 10:11, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment "アメリカ" says America, not United States. Japanese Wikipedia has a disambiguation page for this term ja:アメリカ (曖昧さ回避), where the primary topic is the United States of America (アメリカ合衆国); アメ (ame) does not exist (is a redlink), though it could also mean USA -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 09:35, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- One could make a section in Naming of the Americas to cover the uses that come from that disambiguation page for the Japanese langauge naming of the Americas -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 09:35, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
"アメリカ" says America, not United States
- in Japanese, far more strongly than in English, the word "Amerika" standing alone is understood to be a reference to the country and not the continent. 59.149.117.119 (talk) 09:40, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment the redirect should carry disambiguation to point to where it does. アメリカ (My Hero Academia) -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 09:38, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

- I guess retarget to Names of the United States#Names in the Asian cultural sphere, because there does seem to be a precedent of similar foreign-language US redirects being retargeted there (미국, 美利坚合众国), even if I would've otherwise assumed this was a WP:RLOTE case. Not sure if the MHA chapter should have any redirect; I would normally suggest disambiguation, but disambiguating a foreign-language word with an English disambiguator feels unlikely to be used. Hindh
[edit]- Hindh → Names for India#Hind / Hindustan (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
"Hindh" isn't mentioned in that section (or anywhere, really). This would be borderline CSDable since there IS technically a prior consensus, but it's not the same target as it was when the previous discussion happened User:Someone-123-321 (I contribute, Talk page so SineBot will shut up) 05:22, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment al hindh also points to the same page -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 17:47, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- Comment "Al Hind", "Hind", "Hindu", "Hindustan", "Hindhava", "Sindhava", are all defined at Hindustan -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 17:55, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep Hind and Hindh are same words with same pronunciation, but different spellings in English. Crashed greek (talk) 05:39, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Cilla Single
[edit]- Cilla Single → Benjamin Franklin (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Can't find where Ben Frank ever used this as a pseudonym. TeapotsOfDoom (talk) 00:55, 20 November 2024 (UTC) — TeapotsOfDoom (talk · contribs) is a confirmed sock puppet of Okmrman (talk · contribs).
- Unsure at the moment. A Google search for this term doesn't bring up anything showing how it's related Benjamin Franklin (neither does one for both this term and "Benjamin Franklin"), and mostly talks about stuff relating to Cilla Black or Cilla The Musical. I'm not sure of the connection either, but Rich Farmbrough, who created this redirect, might know. Regards, SONIC678 01:19, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Delete. I can't find a shred of evidence that this name has any association to the target whatsoever. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 15:15, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
- Keep I've added a reference to the redirect. Ben Franklin had a lot of pen names, as did Daniel Defoe. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 19:43, 21 November 2024 (UTC).
- Which I've reverted, since you removed the RFD tag, and it should be either here or on the talk page of the redirect, or both. I did check it, and there's no mention on the page you gave, but there is a few pages later. It's a single bare listing, with no context or corroboration. Given that no one else has been able to able to verify this, I'm dubious of the reliability of the source, and if nothing else, the usefulness. Furthermore, given how many other entries from this book you've created, it would seem to be a mass creation in violation of your current editing restrictions. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 23:31, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- No, this is not a mass creation contrary to Rich's editing restrictions. @35.139.154.158: your repeated references to Rich's restrictions where they definitely don't apply is bordering on harassment at this point. Knock it off.
- Rich, adding references to redirects is odd, readers typically don't see the content of redirects. Is there a way to add this information to the article instead? Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 23:49, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- Eh, fine. My points about the redirect itself though still stand. 35.139.154.158 (talk) 00:05, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- The reference is not for readers, it's for RfD regulars. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 17:07, 22 November 2024 (UTC).

- Comment surprisingly (to me) this seems to be attested despite very limited online hits: Franklin, Benjamin; Smyth, Albert H. (1905). The writings of Benjamin Franklin. New York, London: Macmillan Co.; Macmillan & Co. OCLC 1158474884. Retrieved 2024-11-28. (on page 186). I'm very unsure how someone would end up searching for this term without knowing it was a pseudonym of Franklin's however.
- This may be added to the target at the "Success as an author" section where it says
He frequently wrote under pseudonyms.
If we have 3 or 4 names, Cilla Single can be mentioned alongwith them. Jay 💬 06:21, 4 December 2024 (UTC) - Delete unless someone takes the initiative to add a mention themselves. * Pppery * it has begun... 21:25, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Rich Farmbrough has added a reference, but an IP removed it and tries to excuse himself by calling out Rich's editing restrictions where it doesn't apply User:Someone-123-321 (I contribute, Talk page so SineBot will shut up) 00:05, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

Best Comedy Series

Other "Best Comedy Series" awards exist, either using that exact title (Canadian Screen Award for Best Comedy Series, International Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series) or very similar wording (Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy). I would support retargeting to the appropriate section on this page. RunningTiger123 (talk) 02:06, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Baltimore
[edit]- Wikipedia:Baltimore → Wikipedia:Meetup/Baltimore 1 (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
either retarget to WP:WikiProject Maryland/Baltimore task force or WP:Meetup/Baltimore or disambiguate; it's weird to point to one specific meetup and no incoming links. charlotte 👸🎄 02:20, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete the meetup was in 2011. Or disambiguate -- 65.92.246.77 (talk) 04:17, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget current project more likely than over 13 year old meetup but maybe disambiguate. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:32, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Retarget to the task force as a much more likely target. For the few people wanting to get to the inactive meetup page, a hatnote should suffice. QuicoleJR (talk) 22:02, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
Proteen
[edit]I could only find mostly NN brand names from a search for "Proteen", and one single YouTube account. Couldn't find anything about people misspelling "protein" as this User:Someone-123-321 (I contribute, Talk page so SineBot will shut up) 11:42, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep, now I'm not saying keep because I created the redirect. In my opinion, proteen is a plausible misspelling. Plus, it sounds the exact same as "protein", so someone may think it is spelled as "proteen". RedactedHumanoid (talk) 18:50, 22 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep plausible mishearing --Lenticel (talk) 01:34, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete, as this seems to be used for about a billion different products, and at least one band. A WP search for "proteen" finds it used in a few places, such as a record label, a protein bar product, a TV show, etc. This redirect is harmful as it inhibits people searching for this exact word, especially while being a comparatively implausible spelling error -- an ngrams comparison shows "protien" to be a waaaaay more common error (and we can't even tell how many of the former are deliberate because of brand uses and such). 35.139.154.158 (talk) 02:37, 23 December 2024 (UTC)

- Delete I also can't find evidence of this being even an uncommon misspelling of protein and there are legitimate reasons to search the specific 'proteen' spelling. It would be a small net negative to cover up search results with such an uncommon (though plausible) spelling error. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Synpath (talk • contribs) 03:41, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Delete; seems to be an ambiguous misspelling. Readers can find the correct spelling of protein before going to Wikipedia, and there are other topics which seem to be described as "proteen" with this specific spelling. Utopes (talk / cont) 18:56, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
- Delete due to the ambiguity issues shown by 35.139. If you hear "protein" for the first time you're probably going to spell it something like "proteen", but that is insufficient justification IMO to take the reader away from the quite helpful search results. Freak off
[edit]I just removed an unsourced mention of this phrase at target. Even if a source were added, they're not the same thing: Per [5], there are allegations of sexual exploitation at the White Parties, but that's distinct from the alleged freak-offs in hotel rooms. If there's a place this should target, it's Sean Combs sexual misconduct allegations, but currently "Freak-off" only appears in citations there. If mentioned in the body of that article, I'd support a retarget. Else, delete. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 03:03, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
- This does seem to be genuinely used as a term to refer to the Diddy Parties, as is reported by reliable sources with respect to the lawsuit. So it's used, and it seems to be a reasonable search term for something related to this. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 06:27, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

- Keep as commonly-used and plausible search term. Its use in reliable sources seems to be about parties ("These 'freak offs' were 'elaborate and produced sex performances' and were highly organised parties, prosecutors said" from above-linked BBC article), so I think current target is better than the general misconduct allegations article. Dan Leonard (talk • contribs) 02:22, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- Soft redirect to wikt:freak off, ideally with either a hatnote to the Diddy parties or adding them to Wikitionary. Has multiple meanings outside of the parties. (I was thinking a minced oath of "fuck off", but don't see any sources for that.) charlotte 👸🎄 03:17, 31 December 2024 (UTC)
- Trans-wikify to the Wikitionary term for freak off as this slang term has various meanings and because Wikipedia is not a dictionary. The term is also used as a song title. Oppose redirecting to the article about Sean Combs sexual misconduct allegations, or Diddy parties, because this term is being used as slang to describe the sort of parties that Sean Combs held, and one would not redirect other words that are non-specific terms to describe parties or states of mind, slang or otherwise. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 03:57, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Studio Hamburg
[edit]- Studio Hamburg → Wandsbek Studios (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Studio Hamburg is an existing production company in Germany. See its German language article at de:Studio Hamburg. The existence of the incorrect redirect here forces an error when using the standard interlanguage link template when one attempts to create an ill to the German Wikipedia article 'Studio Hamburg'. Doprendek (talk) 00:43, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Wandsbek Studios was renamed to Studio Hamburg in 1961, per the article content at Wandsbek Studios. Unfortunately, we don't have anything on the English Wikipedia at this time for de:Studio Hamburg (to my understanding). In the absence of specific material, redirects on the English Wikipedia should point to English Wikipedia pages that exist, not German pages that we would like to exist on the English Wikipedia. When material related to de:Studio Hamburg is added to the English Wikipedia, the redirect can be disambiguated. Utopes (talk / cont) 18:53, 2 January 2025 (UTC)
