The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) feminist🇭🇰🇺🇦 (talk) 15:29, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target. QuicoleJR (talk) 18:30, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Apparently this is an official-but-not-commonly-used name for the cloud that Lakitu rides around in. (I learned this just today in looking this up.) On one hand, Lakitu is rightfully in the redirect target, and a mention of this could be added to his entry. On the other hand, I'm unsure if the importance in mentioning it and plausibility if it being a likely search term, so I'm uncertain if I'd fully advocate for a "keep" stance or not. • Weak keep. Redirects are cheap, and as Sergecross73 said, "Lakitu is rightfully in the redirect target". CopperyMarrow15 (talk | edits) Feel free to ping me! 00:27, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Keep per my comment above. I don't think its super likely of a search term, but redirects are cheap, there's a pretty simple path to making it valid, and its not likely to be confused for anything else. Sergecross73 msg me 17:26, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ludwing von Koopa[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 20:36, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible typo left over from an old page move. QuicoleJR (talk) 18:26, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Very Weak Keep, Ludwing may be the most common typo of the name "Ludwig", so this could maybe help someone. Coincidentally, there happens to also be a Ludwing van Beethoven redirect. Redirects are cheap, although the usefulness of both "Ludwing" redirects may be minimal. Admittedly, I don't think Ludwig von Koopa has ever been called "Ludwing" ever, but "Ludwing" does get mentioned quite a bit as an alternate spelling to "Ludwig", seemingly. • Keep Weak keep as long as Ludwing van Beethoven exists. CopperyMarrow15 (talk | edits) Feel free to ping me! 23:58, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • Even with the wig/wing difference? Sergecross73 msg me 00:12, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      • Yes. Ludwing van Beethoven exists, so why shouldn't this? I suppose it can be argued that that redirect shouldn't exist either, considering it has only 5 pageviews in the past 30 days, so I've changed my verdict to "Weak keep" for now. CopperyMarrow15 (talk | edits) Feel free to ping me! 00:44, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
        • There's a general belief that, the more errors/typos/discrepancies exist in a redirect, the less plausible they become, that's all. I'm still on the fence on it personally. Sergecross73 msg me 17:23, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
          • What do you mean? You seem to be implying that there are multiple spelling errors in the redirect, but there is only one spelling error in Ludwing von Koopa: the extra n,[1] just like with Ludwing van Beethoven: also with only the extra n. CopperyMarrow15 (talk | edits) Feel free to ping me! 19:58, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, now that you lay it out, I was misunderstanding part of your argument. Disregard. Nevermind. Sergecross73 msg me 13:13, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's vaguely plausible that an English reader encounters the Cyrillic version of the word "Bosna" online and looks it up, and redirecting to the disambiguation page is a better solution than a hatnote at the country page. --Joy (talk) 19:19, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Crazy mofo[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy delete per WP:CSD#G5. plicit 00:29, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can be seen as negative and isn't really used as a unambiguous term for Heinz Stücke. It seems to be because of [2] which lists multiple people and calls them "crazy mofos" collectively but many of them have Wikpedia articles. This single article isn't enough to make a disambiguation page, so delete even this can be used as a term of endearment in the right context. Skynxnex (talk) 14:11, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy delete as unlikely misspelling or need for redirect. --ZimZalaBim talk 14:16, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am not opposed to a CSD via WP:R3 but the fact that a source obliquely refers to the target as that phrase made me lead toward RfD. Skynxnex (talk) 14:20, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Too vague and common of a term to redirect to a single person. Kind of like making "the best" to Michael Jordan. Not so much wrong as it's too vague. Sergecross73 msg me 16:08, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Slowly delete: Vague. Doesn't meet R3 per that source IMO. CLYDE TALK TO ME/STUFF DONE 01:00, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - if this wasn't used very tenuously by one source, which referred to a group of unrelated people with this moniker as a group and only once in the article's headline, I would have speedy deleted this per WP:G10. We can't possibly say that this common epithet refers unambiguously to this one person (the source names six others already, and that's just one source) and so it should be deleted. And no, we absolutely should not create a manual search index masquerading as a disambiguation page for every person who might have been called a "crazy mofo" by one obscure source one time in their entire lives. Vaccinationists[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Vaccination. (non-admin closure) ––FormalDude (talk) 22:34, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Antonym of Antivaccinationist, which redirects to Vaccine hesitancy. I'm not seeing much use of this outside of being counter to antivaccinationists (the most use I can find is at wikt:Citations:vaccinationist, and wiktionary designates it as pro-vaccination); whatever the usage of the term, Medicine is not the best target article. I'd suggest one of Vaccination (broad), Vaccination policy (probably the most specific but might be off-target), or Vaccine hesitancy (antonym of Antivaccinationist), or possibly deletion as having no good target – none of these articles use the word vaccinationist (though all three use anti-vaccinationist). I could go with any of these – I slightly lean towards deletion, but I don't have a strong opinion here. (This redirect also at one point targeted Allopathic medicine, though it hasn't for 15 years.) Skarmory (talk • contribs) 06:59, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect to Vaccination, within scope. Greatder (talk) 12:54, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to vaccine hesitancy. If you follow the trail of botched moves you'll find the "article" that was previously here at Special:Permalink/38693583, which is now a redirect to vaccine hesitancy. One only needs a term for those who support and/or administer vaccinations when you're an antivaxxer and need a strawman, and this is the context under which the title should be considered. The result of the discussion was retarget to China Center of Adoption Affairs. Jay 💬 05:36, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is a misleading red link to a subarticle - a discussion of international adoption in China. Per WP:RED, we should clearly indicate that this article needs to be created (compare, adoption in South Korea, adoption in France, etc.). The result of the discussion was disambiguate. Or more specifically, set-indexify. Support among two of the three !voters, and A smart kitten seemed to indicate support for a hypothetical DAB page. (non-admin closure) Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 20:27, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly not the primary topic for this generic phrase. * Pppery * it has begun... 02:12, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak retarget to Analytics as {{R from subtopic}} - or, failing that, potentially converting into a dab page. Weak because I’m not familiar with the article subject matter and so would easily defer to editor(s) who are more so. It’s getting some pageviews, so either it’s useful as a search term, it’s externally linked somewhere, or it’s getting traffic from ISA 500 Audit Evidence (its only non-RfD/database report-related wikilink). I do think it’s a term that’s useful as a redirect though, and so would (non-weakly) oppose its deletion. A smart kitten (talk) 16:26, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Set indexify at Analytical procedures and retarget there. I have drafted a set index at Draft:Analytical procedures. That the target carries a parenthetical qualifier when the base name doesn't exist is certainly something we should address. The drafted set index isn't perfect (and can probably be improved), but I think it strikes a good balance and is the best solution to the present problem.
