Ambiguous slang, searching indicates this is most commonly used as an insult. This does not seem useful. Hog Farm Talk 20:16, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: This is an unrelated insult. ―Susmuffin Talk 20:26, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment if it is an insult, it comes from the obscene name for a chamber pot. UserTwoSix (talk) 20:27, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I see no evidence that this insult derives from anything to do with a chamber pot. It's literally intended as a measure of a person's worth being equal to that of a literal bucket filled with excrement, and we have no description of that usage on Wikipedia. The fact that that can also be a description for a chamber pot is entirely coincidental. Ivanvector's squirrel (trees/nuts) 15:27, 27 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete this is more associated with an insult than a synonym for the more useful Bucket toilet. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 13:53, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not convinced that country redirects misspelled in American accents are useful aids for navigation. These do not appear to be widespread misspellings, google turns up 52 results for "Indanesia", 172 results for "Frence" and 38 results for "Pakisten" (note that you need to click through to the end of results 4-20 pages in, the numbers on the first page of search results seem to be wildly inaccurate). Article manually deleted and redirected to Ken Jennings in 2009. No articles link to redirect. Original content is unreferenced WP:LISTCRUFT of individual game show episode results. AldezD (talk) 19:44, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - The listcruft argument is bogus. However, the redirect is misleading as it now stands, and anyone who types in Ken Jennings name will see his article anyway, so the redirect is redundant. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 19:54, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete: This redirect is misleading. ―Susmuffin Talk 20:24, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as no potential to be its own article anymore, and not listed as a table. Jennings' current article has a link to the game summaries anyways if someone really wants all the stats for his win streak run. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 14:00, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Redirect to Little Simz That redirect came after this edit where I saw Age 101 Music redirecting to the same place, and finding nothing else named Age 101 on site, I figured it'd be useful to have. Looking now, I see that Age 101 is Little Simz' independent label, with multiple mentions in her article, so redirecting both there would make the most sense. • Keep The name of the infrastructure bill is hard to remember and in the US this is just being called the "Infrastructure Bill". With the lack of any existent page there, this is quite useful. UserTwoSix (talk) 19:09, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as ambiguous and US centric to let search take care of it even though there is no page at Infrastructure bill and could be served in the future by a list of infrastructure bills. UserTwoSix (talk) 20:38, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as ambiguous. This is a generic search term with no specific connection to this piece of legislation - there are thousands of bills related to infrastructure in existence, redirecting to this one seems like an example of WP:Recentism. In this case I think search results do a better job than the redirect. 192.76.8.74 (talk) 19:26, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WikiText[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 06:02, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"WikiText" is a spelling mistake and another redirect with the right spelling "Wikitext" already exists. I edited the 3 articles using "WikiText" and changed their wikilinks to "Wikitext". A specific problem for editors is when they add a link with the VisualEditor, Wikipedia will only suggest "WikiText redirect" (when typing "wikitext or Wikitext", you should have two suggestions: "WikiText redirect" and "Wikitext redirect"). Same result for users using the search bar from Wikipedia (with Vector skin). In the end, everybody will think that "WikiText" is a right spelling, and it is not! Antoine Legrand (talk) 12:07, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Antoine Legrand: Since this is (I think) your first RfD, I'd suggest taking a look at WP:R#KEEP: We usually don't delete redirects just for being misspellings, as long as it's a plausible misspelling. That said, this isn't a misspelling, just an old one. In Ward Cunningham's WikiWikiWeb, all page titles were written in CamelCase, so something like "WikiText" was a totally valid title. Wikipedia originally used UseModWiki, the same software that WikiWikiWeb used, so a) we have a lot of older redirects that use CamelCase (we even have a template and category for them; see {{r from CamelCase}}), and b) for any basic wiki-related term, a CamelCase title will often be a valid alternate spelling (i.e. not a typo), as is the case here. Thus, I suggest we keep. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 14:17, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamzin: my main concern was not the CamelCase writing even if it is right that I began by saying that "WikiText" was misspelled.
In fact, I ask for this RfD because of:
  1. Virtual editing: editors using "Add a link" and typing "wikite.." will only be suggested "WikiText" (among 14 suggestions in the drop-down list, why is "Wikitext" not suggested???). If they type exactly "wikitext" both "Wikitext" and "WikiText" will appear!!!
  2. Wikipedia search drop-down list: users typing "wikite.." will only have as suggestion "WikiText" (among 10 suggestions in the drop-down list, why is "Wikitext" not suggested???). If they type exactly "wikitext" both "Wikitext" and "WikiText" will appear!!!
Maybe you will answer me that there are some sorts of technical limitations in the search engine (like predominance of upper case) but my main objective is to find a solution and thus to delete "WikiText" so that "Wikitext" pops up always in the results!
Thus, if due to technical limitations I can only have one suggestion, I prefer "Wikitext" to "WikiText" ("Wikitext redirect page": used by 980 pages on Wikipedia; "WikiText redirect page": used by 9 pages on Wikipedia). Antoine Legrand (talk) 16:44, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as a useful {{R from alternate capitalisation}}. CamelCase names are very commonly used in programming and a google search shows a decent number of sites using this spelling. The arguments about visual editor and search results are not convincing in my view, with the search results it doesn't matter which one you click because they both take you to the same place, and with editing it is the responsibility of the editor to ensure they insert the right link, we wouldn't delete all {{R from misspelling}}'s because someone might insert them accidentally. This receives a substantial number of page views (500+ in the last year) so evidently it's of use to readers. 192.76.8.74 (talk) 19:35, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tamzin. Also, in general I don't believe capitalization alone (if not completely random like WikitExt) is reason enough to delete a redirect. Winston (talk) 00:59, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Previous RfDs for this redirect and similar redirects:

This was part of a nomination withdrawn because of a potentially fatal error on the railroad schedule. While yes, it could refer to Ichigo, it doesn't get very much use nowadays, and sees A LOT less usage than Ichigo Momomiya. I'm thinking we should delete unless someone can provide a justification. Regards, SONIC678 02:05, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A similar redirect was deleted in 2019 Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2019 August 22#Mrs. Momomiya. The nominator in that discussion mentioned that she was never referred to as Mrs. Momomiya and I would assume that also applies to Ms. Momomiya. Based on that I would recommend that we delete the redirect unless evidence is provided that the character is known by that name.--65.93.194.2 (talk) 02:52, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
