The Demon Within (album)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Immediate Music. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 04:21, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Was created in 2009 as the "working title" for their next album, but that is unconfirmed. It's not mentioned as a possible title at Life Starts Now. -- Tavix (talk) 23:26, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stare (Three Days Grace song)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was discussion moved to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Stare (Three Days Grace song). -- Tavix (talk) 23:19, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

First, it's not a likely search term. Second, the song was not written by the band in question, but a precursor to the band. The editor who created the article has been attempting to make it seem as though the two are continuous, when they're not. There is no acceptance of the concept. Had it not been for the latter point, I would agree with keeping the redirect. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:09, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Restore and seek deletion as an article. If it's not a likely search term, then you should have never redirected it in the first place. -- Tavix (talk) 22:25, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Tavix:. That was an error. I assumed good faith on the part of the new editor, but when I realized that it was a continuation of the edit war that got the editor blocked I attempted to fix it. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:41, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • Alright, well this is the wrong forum to seek deletion of article content. I recommend you withdraw this. -- Tavix (talk) 22:48, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
        • Alright, well this is the right forum to seek deletion of a redirect, which is what it is. I appreciate your comment. If you want to go in and revert it to the state of an article, I'll delete it, but otherwise, comment on whether the recently created redirect needs to be deleted or not. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:53, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
          • The only reason it is currently a redirect is because you just made it one. RfD is not a backdoor to delete article content in this manner, hence my !vote. -- Tavix (talk) 22:56, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strongest possible keep- first, it's ordinary to redirect songs to their album, or when none exists, their artist. Second, @Tavix: is absolutely right. You can't contravene the existing structure of WP's AfD by turning it into a redirect and then nominating the redirect for deletion. It's dishonest. And there's no reason for it. Redirects are cheap and 3 days grace is a notable enough band for this to really not hurt anyone. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 23:00, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, it's ordinary to do so, but only when the album or artist mentions the song in question. There is no mention of Stare at Three Days Grace, so a redirect from that standpoint is inappropriate. -- Tavix (talk) 23:15, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Drama CD[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Radio drama. Can be pointed to a specific section should one created, but for now this is fine — see audio drama and the lead. ~ Amory (utc) 14:05, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect to nonexistent section. I considered retargeting to Radio drama#Japan, as Drama CDs, audio plays released on compact disc, are common in Japan as tie-ins to manga, light novels, etc., but there is no mention of the term in that section. Raymond1922 (talk) 20:50, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • How about just removing the particular section and leaving it as Radio drama as other countries are listed with having produced CD's. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 23:07, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 14:17, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The agreement of the deletion discussion was that this page should be deleted as having no suitable redirect target; it was recreated as a redirect anyway. It should be deleted again as potentially confusing and not being mentioned in the target page. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 18:00, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Non-permanent[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was soft redirect to Wiktionary:Nonpermanent. (non-admin closure) Galobtter (pingó mió) 07:15, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This term is not mentioned on the disambiguation page. Thus, the fact that the redirect targets where it does could result in a WP:SURPRISE, meaning that either deleting this redirect (allowing the search function to do its job) or converting it into a Wiktionary redirect towards Wiktionary:nonpermanent would probably be more helpful to readers. Attribute Changer[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 14:03, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The target article mentions the word "change" a few times, but does not explain what the subject of the redirect is, or what it is meant to represent. For that reason, as a vague term, it could refer to something in regards to changing "levels" of Attribute (role-playing games). (See the target of Respec.) Mistakenly created Nizil (talk) 12:36, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: I removed the CSD tag, but I haven't officially declined it either. Nizil Shah, this is the correct Gujarati spelling of Usha Upadhyay, right? I understand the article was created with that title in error, but the resulting redirect from correcting the article title would not be an error. These redirects are useful per {{R from alternative language}} as someone searching in Gujarati would be able to find who they are looking for. See WP:RFOREIGN for more details. -- Tavix (talk) 14:49, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Was the correct spelling redirect created? And is this a common misspelling, or a implausible typo only the article creator made? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:05, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Speedy keep then as this is the spelling used. It's about the Gujarati author and their name in their native language. The main article reference points to this name. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:01, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment as a nominator: Yes, this is correct Gujarati spelling of Usha Upadhyay which was mistakenly created while translating it from Gujarati to English (I forgot to translate the title). I was not sure of keeping the foreign language title as redirect because I think cirrus search might be handling it with help of Wikidata (probably such feature is under request in Phab). If this redirect seem OK, keep it. Regards and thank you, --Nizil (talk) 06:06, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment may be worth noting that WP:INDICSCRIPTS strongly discourages including foreign-language names on India-related articles, so this term would never appear at the target (though presumably its relationship to the target will be obvious to anyone who can actually read the redirect). 59.149.124.29 (talk) 16:29, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
WP:INDICSCRIPTS applies to the lead paragraph and the infobox. Should it also apply to redirects? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:25, 17 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I remember you asked the same question on another debate a while ago. I was kinda wondering the same thing. Two years later I'm still not sure. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 04:23, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. ~ Amory (utc) 14:13, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Brody was a member of the Patti Smith Band for a short while and has done several other back of the band things (whether he deserves an article is another question - see Bruce Brody homepage. At present there are numerous redirects to Patti Smith which are not right. Richhoncho (talk) 11:40, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as listed as a former member mentioned in her band. Whether he should have his own article can be separately determined. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:22, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete there is no sourced encyclopedic content on Brody at the destination of this redirect.--15:27, 12 April 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TonyTheTiger (talkcontribs)

The result of the discussion was keep. ~ Amory (utc) 14:01, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

wrong target should be Copper(II) cyanide, which does not yet exist so no place to redirect this to. ~ GB fan 10:32, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Copper cyanide redirects to the Copper(I) cyanide article. Should Copper(II) be created and then two dabbed? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:24, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep The issue here is that Copper(II) cyanide doesn't exist. As the article explains Cu(II) is reduced to Cu(I) by aqueous cyanide. The redirect probably exists for that reason.--Project Osprey (talk) 08:31, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep indeed, Copper (II) cyanide doesn't exist but that is explained so it seems the best place. Galobtter (pingó mió) 07:23, 20 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WP:NPOV "Stop Soros" is a political statement, not a sensible redirect. The term does not feature in the target. Kleuske (talk) 10:07, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment shouldn't this go to some page or section about legislation that would crack down on supporters/organizations of illegal immigration involving George Soros? [2] [3] [4] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 18:04, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
