The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Winged Blades Godric 16:51, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There are plenty of places, organizations, and programs that utilize the words "enterprise village." Seems like an unnecessary redirect for promotional purposes. Classicwiki (talk) (ping me) 03:01, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On first glance I agreed with you, but after searching for "enterprise village" on Google, the first two pages of results more or less all had to do with Enterprise Village at Stavros Institute. Can you provide any examples of other organisations and program that use the term? –Matthew - (talk) 03:14, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There are few other orgs/places, but I am willing to concede, not as many as I thought there were. Willing to allow this redirect to stand if others are as well. Classicwiki (talk) (ping me) 04:24, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment they attempted to trademark this name in the U.S. [1] Other than that, it seems to be a primary topic. It can use a hatnote to Village Enterprise as that one has one for the Stavros one. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 14:22, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep name is mentioned, and seems to have no other uses in Wikipedia (other than a [[WP:PTM|partial match for another name). If other articles are identified disambiguation may be needed but this should not be deleted if the content exists in Wikipedia. Peter James (talk) 23:31, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - I'm sure that multiple other organizations have probably used this term, but the strong association of it with the Stavros Institute makes the redirect seem reasonable enough. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 21:41, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

John Bonifield[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Kostas20142 (talk) 12:47, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We don't create name redirects to single mentions of that person in articles; there's no biography of Bonifield and none has been proposed to be written. WP:BLP applies here — there is no justification to redirect this person's name to a mention of a single incident in which this person made the news for 5 minutes by reasons not of his own making. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 15:53, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Striking vote. He seems to have a full paragraph on his activities. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:21, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:BLP1E, where the recommendation for a person notable for one event is to redirect that person to the event article, which is what has been done here. There's an entire section in the article dedicated to Bonifield, and that seems to be the only relevant information that Wikipedia has on him. -- Tavix (talk) 16:35, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why is he notable at all, though? Do we routinely redirect the names of people mentioned in articles to that article? The article isn't about Bonifield, it's about O'Keefe's video claims. I don't see a reason to redirect someone's name to a single paragraph based on an ambush interview. The redirect adds nothing. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 16:49, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
He's "notable" enough to have a full paragraph that discusses his role in the event. If someone searches "John Bonifield", they're going to want to know some information about him, and this event seems to be the only thing of relevance to him on Wikipedia. Therefore, this redirect is helpful to get someone that relevant information. Per WP:RPURPOSE, redirects should be created for sub-topics or other topics which are described or listed within a wider article. (Such redirects are often targeted to a particular section of the article.), and I believe this redirect satisfies that purpose. -- Tavix (talk) 17:00, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as a classic case of a person known for a single event. NorthBySouthBaranof asked if we routinely redirect the names of people mentioned in articles to that article, and in this case, the answer is a clear yes. It's item 2 under WP:BLP1E. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 12:50, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Alphabetti Spaghetti![edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Deryck C. 10:01, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Created as a redirect to Polymorph (Red Dwarf episode) as Alphabetti Spaghetti was referenced in that episode.

An Alphabetti Spaghetti redirect already existed- and pointed towards Alphabet pasta- so having this one do something different (while appearing separately in the drop-down search list) is likely to confuse those who don't get it or who click on the wrong option.

I'm opposed to this on principle; if we did this thing for every pop culture reference, it would vastly increase the amount of navigational clutter.

I've changed it to redirect to Alphabet pasta as with the other one, but this redirect still appears in the list and serves no practical purpose; I'd rather it was removed. Ubcule (talk) 12:46, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Abe Lincoln vs. Chuck Norris[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Only deleting this one for now as the other pages were not included in this nomination (and therefore no one was aware of this nom). I suggest you mass-nominate the others to gain consensus on them. Anarchyte (work | talk) 02:38, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:NOTDIR. Unlikely that someone will use WP to search for individual YouTube episodes. If the consensus is to delete this one, I will mass nominate the other 64 (!) redirects in Category:Epic Rap Battles of History UnitedStatesian (talk) 11:47, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete all 64. These are not all discussed at the target. They require using the correct order of the charactors and the vs with the period abbreviation. Also you need Abe not Abraham. Further they clutter up search results for the much greater number of people actually searching for info on Lincoln or whichever famous person. Legacypac (talk) 16:46, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all These don't need to be created for every episode title in existence. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:40, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as invalidly capitalized disambiguator; leftover from another discussion where it was errorously closed as "no consensus" (despite being at 3 vs. 2 at closure). Lordtobi () 17:38, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

For what it's worth, these discussions are WP:NOTAVOTE. You can't just add up the numbers and because more people were in favor of deletion, that equals deletion. While I don't believe my closure was erroneous, I'm fine with this discussion being opened. Since it's unbunded, we might get a better discussion out of it... -- Tavix (talk) 17:43, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as Zombi (2012 video game) is correctly capitalized and covers this issue. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:41, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Unless I'm mistaken, the page was started at this title in 2011, moved to the correctly capitalized version in 2015, and then moved to its current name in 2016. Since it's a longstanding {{R from move}} where the only difference is capitalization, I'm inclined to keep it. It got 134 hits in just under two years even discounting any hits from the recent RFDs, so it does get use as well.---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 19:10, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
From what I can tell, the only time the article was at Zombi (2012 Video Game) was for two minutes on 1 August 2015‎. -- Tavix (talk) 19:27, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) @Patar knight: The title, just as the Zombi(2015 Video Game) one, were created within four minutes (22:08–22:11) by Aozz101x through undiscussed moves. The original title was actually Zombi U, which was corrected shortly after to the current title. Lordtobi () 19:31, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok right, I was looking at the wrong page. The rest of the comment still stands. ---- Patar knight - chat/contributions 21:22, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Per Patar knight and my comments in the previous discussion. Thryduulf (talk) 20:21, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And as per previous discussion, I suspect the caps version attracted the searches for this over the lower-case proper version. We shouldn't make exceptions for (Film), (Video Game), (Song) AngusWOOF (barksniff) 17:33, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per AngusWOOF: given that the properly capitalised redirect already exists, all that this redirect does is add clutter to the search box drop-down suggestions. – Uanfala 14:24, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. While redirects are cheap, some redirects are beyond unnecessary and are just clutter. olderwiser 12:25, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete it is clutter. Search ignores capitalization. Legacypac (talk) 09:35, 14 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
