July 16[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on July 16, 2008

Trouser jockeyGay[edit]

The result of the debate was Delete, I'll consider this as offensive and an unlikely synonym. Lenticel (talk) 23:55, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Was tagged for speedy deletion as nonsense but doesn't meet the strict sense of WP:CSD#G1. Even if it had above meaning, the expression seems to be rather rare and there are no incoming links. Tikiwont (talk) 11:49, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • It would seem to me to be a pejorative redirect (not necessarily a deletion criterion though you might make a weak argument for WP:CSD#G10) but more importantly, it is a fairly trivial and obvious insult. This phrase is not even common enough to have a Wiktionary entry. Delete. Rossami (talk) 15:51, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hehehehe...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!...er...ahem...Delete. --UsaSatsui (talk) 20:31, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • LOOOOOL....Speedy delete per WP:CSD#G10 I wouldn't delete per WP:CSD#G1 because the redirect is not nonsense, it ...disparages its subject...(Excerpted from the G10 criteria) TALKIN PIE EATER REVIEW ME 21:19, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First Monday in SeptemberLabor Day[edit]

The result of the debate was Keep. Lenticel (talk) 23:57, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect equates the first Monday in September with with an American holiday which is quite US-centric. There are no incoming links. It's not something I'd expect readers would search for. It's a recreation of a deleted redirect (though with a different target). JIMp talk·cont 02:34, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note. In Canada, Labour Day is also the first Monday in September; nonetheless, unless it can be converted into a dab page listing all the various countries' holidays that fall on the first Monday in September, it would be best to keep the redirect as it is since WP:NPOV does not apply to redirects. 147.70.242.40 (talk) 02:37, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
