Retired names[edit]

Wait until the final report comes out. The document that is accessible is just about requests and not finals. Songda Talas 22:32, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Retired Typhoon Rai[edit]

Please read the report carefully before editing the page if the system was decommissioned, thank you. HurricaneEdgar 03:07, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

May 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! HurricaneEdgar 10:51, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

June 2023[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. Nobody (talk) 05:22, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Damages template for Infobox weather event.[edit]

I noticed that you have been typing the input for the damages parameter like this:

| damages = $2.12 billion (2011 [[USD]])

Instead, I would appreciate if you wrote them like this:

| year = 2011
...
| damages = 2120000000

The year template exists for that reason, so I'd like you to use them as intended. Thanks! TheBigBookOfNaturalScience 📖 (💬/📜) 11:06, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Subtropical storm Don[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you removed the infobox of current information of Subtropical storm Don in the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season. Please note that the infobox is extremely important for information and images and deleting it is not appreciated. Your edit has been reverted. Insendieum (talk) 23:27, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Therealangelo1177! Your additions to Draft:Typhoon Haikui (2023) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:29, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

February 2024[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at 2023 Pacific hurricane season, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. CycloneYoris talk! 19:08, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Retired Pacific Typhoon Names[edit]

Please be sure to check which user added the content. It was an IP Adress User that added the content, without giving a description nor a source. Also, the Typhoon Committee 56th session website is still under member access only, so please check the most recent session website to see if there is anything to support what a user added. Also, where the IP Adress edited Conson, I believe that Luc-binh is actually a name suggested by Hong Kong in a session some years ago, and not a Vietnamese name. The pages where I reverted your edits were Tropical Storm Conson (2021), Typhoon Hinnamnor, and the 2022 Pacific typhoon season. Songda Talas 00:41, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Miss Universe Thailand 2023, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please do not use subnational flags per MOS:FLAGRELEVANCE.
