Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Seoul Broadcasting System into SBS TV. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from page name; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted copied template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 17:14, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the inconvenience. I'll make sure to do that in the future. —theMainLogan (talk) 14:07, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 25[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Sony Kal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page TCL. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:12, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

June 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm FormalDude. I noticed that you recently removed content from Rick and Morty without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. ––FormalDude (talk) 00:13, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is about the "embarrassment" summary, I apologize. I simply removed a random hyphen and irrelevant information regarding distribution. —theMainLogan (talk) 00:22, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Based in"[edit]

Hello, on Pewdiepie, you first added that he is "based in England", which not only goes against MOS:CONTEXTBIO, but is also a WP:BLP violation since he no longer lives there. You then added that he is "based in" Japan, which is where he lives, but that is covered in its appropriate section, so it again goes against the established MOS to include it in the immediate lead. Perhaps you weren't aware of that, so just a heads up. TylerBurden (talk) 10:31, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Two notes:
 1. No one told me those rules exist.
 2. Someone edited Nigel Ng's article to say he is a Malaysian YouTuber based in London and not Malaysian-British, so I thought it worked that way for all YouTubers.
theMainLogan (talk) 18:09, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, you have to learn somehow. I am not aware of anything like that in relation to YouTubers, so unless there is an exception that makes sense for it there, the same guideline should probably apply. TylerBurden (talk) 10:06, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for reaching out to me about the issue. I truly appreciate it. —theMainLogan (talk) 10:08, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Signature update needed[edit]

Hey there! This is a friendly note to let you know that ... tags have been deprecated, so if you could update your custom signature, that would be great. Here's an updated version that should work: theMainLogan (t•c) Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:37, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that[edit]

I of course don't really mean you use crack cocaine. "You must be smokin' crack" is just a silly way of saying "I strenously disagree", where/when I'm from. I've struck the original comment, which I thought would be taken as the joke it was intended to be, but it clearly wasn't. And it wasn't meant as something personal about you; it's just a habitual phrase (e.g. I used it again here [1]), but I think I'll now consider it a bad habit (like crack!) and seek to avoid it.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  05:38, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please ask questions at the Teahouse or Help Desk. Regarding your question, please go to WP:RFA to learn more about the process. Having the admin tools carries no more authority than any other editor. A user can do 99% of things here without the admin tools. To convince the community you should have the tools, you need an extensive edit history demonstrating a good understanding of policies, a good temperament, and a need for the tools. 331dot (talk) 21:13, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
