Notable residents, alumni, faculti, etc.[edit]

In many articles about communities or places of education, there are sections for notable people. The names appear in blue because there are existing English Wikipedia articles. A name added in double brackets [[ ]] without such article would appear red; a name added without brackets would appear black. Wikipedia policy is only existing-article people allowed. What constitutes "Resident" is debatable. Is that where a person grew up before becoming famous (allowed), lived for a significant part of their life while famous (allowed), or lived in briefly (questionable). For a place of education, does it mean they graduated, or does it include attended without having graduated? David notMD (talk) 16:07, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hej David notMD
Thanks for your reply. It seems that the possility exists that people can claim to be alumni of eg. Harvard business school just by editing the article about themselves ?? using an anonymous or untracable IP edit?
Is this correct. I am concerned because a person who has a history of inflating their educational details is a candidate for a large Danish shipping company directorship. This person claims to be an alumni of Harvard business school.Spgough (talk) 17:00, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
