Too many of the sources are not independent of Haythornwaite -- they're largely drawn from pages of the website of the charity his wife founded. While his wife appears notable enough, Gerald himself does not. Even the organisation's website notes Ethel as its founder, not Gerald (nor even Ethel and Gerald together).

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

@Diannaa: Hi, just reading this and have some quick questions...

What are the copyrighted images you are referring to? Or is this a generic guideline you posted? Thought I'd been good with the images I've used.

I can't find the content - Ethel Haythornthwaite: Trespass debate - that was removed to check what was written / posted. Can you signpost me to it? I thought I added multiple references such as MP's video and a copy of the transcript on the Parliament website.

Obviously, I understand the copyright issues in general and want to follow the Wikipedia guidelines - but can't see what was removed to fix any issues. New to all this so not sure what next steps are.

Can you at least post it here so I can review? If that is acceptable.

@Diannaa: Hi, I went through the version history to see if I could find anything I spotted that some of the removals seem to have messed up the page edits. So changes from this comment '(→‎Blue plaque: Removed links to Blake and post-nominals (see next edit for reasons)' haven't been restored.

Just reviewing everything after the initial section creation - the comment that starts with 'Added new section for trespassing debate that occurred in April 2021 - placeholder, will tidy and rewrite shortly, looking for more sources and the outcome of the debate'.

Don't have any offline versions.

The message I posted is a template, and while it mentions images, none were involved in your particular edit. The revisions containing the copyright material were hidden from view under under criterion RD1 of the revision deletion policy, and that's why you can't access them any more. The material I removed was a match for content found here. @Diannaa: Hi, thanks for the link - useful resource for the future. If I understand how that works it is based on an earlier snapshot content but not the latest / current edit, is that right?

Because I'm sure I changed it, re-wrote it. Not sure about the petition bit (don't quote me on that one) - can't remember if I changed that but I did find two other reliable sources which I believe I cited. Vaguely remember expanding some things so it wasn't copied. Even in my earlier edit summary I identified it needed rewriting.

Even the heading is totally different as I'm pretty sure I changed that to Trespass debate or something or other.

If I remember, the dates paragraph is from the other sources that Yorkshire Post used.

Basically, I'm not arguing - I'm really not - just want to reference what the last / current edit was including the additional references so I can review it and make additional changes. I don't have an offline copy to use.

@Diannaa: Got it, thank you. I thought I wrote more and changed some things - completely forgot about quoting Blake as well.

I'll work off this version and run each edit through that CopyPatrol report tool once I know how to added content onto there.

@Diannaa: Hi (sorry but just making sure I understand things properly)

I've rewritten that section again - Trespass debate - and published it.

Created an account on CopyPatrol and searched for that page to see if the latest content has come up. Nothing.

Does that mean it is okay? We are good?

Or does it take time before it is flagged again? I'm assuming the latter here because of what was originally flagged vs. the latest edit.

I want to make sure I am doing things right.
