Disambiguation link notification for November 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lúdvik Jósepsson, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Icelandic and Nes (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, Remdabest. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Rebellion Beer Company, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks,  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 06:01, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Rebellion Beer Company[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Rebellion Beer Company at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Hi, I just noticed you copied this out of my sandbox in October :) That's not a problem (though I suggest in future a courtesy note is a good idea). However, just to let you know - please don't copy pages via cut and paste as this breaks the attribution requirements of the license used for the content (i.e. it is a copyright violation). To move a page there is an option in the menus at the top right of pages which let you move the entire page history at once! Cheers, --Errant (chat!) 12:31, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi there! I am sorry I did not include a courtesy note. How does one this? I am still new to creating articles etc so thank you for the advice - will bare this in mind. Your article was very useful. --Remdabest (talk) 01:53, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ernest Roume[edit]

A couple of points about the creation of the article Ernest Roume.

The original French article has a none standard appendix section with the main header called "Articles connexes" (Related items) and sub sections "Voir aussi", "Bibliographie", "Liens externes" (See also, References, External links) "Bibliographie" of course can also be "Bibliography", but whether you translate it as "References" or "Bibliography" either would make a better translation than "Further reading" as "Further reading" implies that the entries in that section are not references and therefore that you wrote an stub article with no referenced sources.

The second point is a technical one. I presume that what you meant to display was the ISBN number. To do that just put the ISBN followed by the number and the software that formats the page auto-magically changes it into the link:

  • Paul E. Lovejoy et A.S. Kanya-Forstner (dir.), Slavery and its abolition in French West Africa : the official reports of G. Poulet, E. Roume, and G. Deherme, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1994, p. 206 ISBN 0942615220

You should not use {{ISBN}} which does not do what you though it does, instead it produced the following output:

Hi Remdabest. I noticed you reverted my edits to the page Romain, and put back the section headed "Le Romain". The reason I removed that section was because of the new page you created at Le Romain. To me it doesn't seem sensible to have the same list in two places at once, so I wanted to make Romain just link to Le Romain and avoid the duplication. What do you think? —Noiratsi (talk) 13:29, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. In my experience when English speakers use epithets such as 'Le Romain', there can sometimes be a tendency to miss out the 'Le' (I imagine due to how English surnames work?) I therefore think that a search for 'Romain' should come up with a reference to the epithet 'Le Romain' for this reason. Do you agree? I would be happy if there was either a link to the Le Romain page on the Romain page, or if it were left as it currently is with Le Romain incorporated on the Romain page. What are your thoughts? Thank you for contacting me. --Remdabest (talk) 14:18, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that it seems like a good idea to the "Romain" article point to "Le Romain" as well. I was trying to find a good way to link the two articles, but in the end I just ended up putting the link under "See also". I don't think that's enough. Maybe under the "Surname" heading we could put {{see also|Le Romain}}? —Noiratsi (talk) 14:26, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The see also link is a good idea which links both pages well. I have added this to the page now - I hope this is OK. Thanks --Remdabest (talk) 15:57, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
