Copy edit needed[edit]
Hi there, I come to you because I am looking for a copy editor at random and you are currently at the top of the list. I have done a lot of work on our Rainbow article and recently an editor came along that has changed the names of the earth, the sun, and the moon to the Earth , Sun, and Moon. Per our MOS there are occasions to use caps but in general caps should not be used. This editors claims that our MOS directs us to always use caps and the fact that none of our sources on rainbows use caps only shows how advanced and correct we are compared to them. In fact, this makes him/her proud to be a Wikipedia editor. Would you have time to take a look at the article and the talk page? Thanks. Gandydancer (talk) 15:36, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Gandydancer: Hi, thank you so much for reaching out, and sorry for the relatively late response. After looking over your situation on the talk page and some related information, I feel like I'm not the best person to help resolve this issue. I am fairly new to the GOCE (my name was at the top of the list because I was the last person to sign up,) and relatively new to WP in general. I don't believe I have an extensive enough understanding of the MOS to adequately address this issue/mediate discussion regarding it. However, from what knowledge I do have, I would definitely side with you in this situation and support you in any way I can, I just don't want to get to far in over by head or overstep the boundaries of my experience. Advice on vandalism please[edit]
Hello, PurpleTheory I wanted to follow up on the edit you made to the article on artist Peter Peri. Thanks for reverting the vandalism recently. The page is about my husband and I’ve been told on Tea house it’s ok for me to simply revert bad faith edits despite our relationship. The page has again suffered some vandalism on Christmas Eve but the IP addresses on the recent bad faith edits are the same as those from a trolling spate in April/May this year and a push for article deletion. I’ve tried to request page protection from Wikipedia as these previous edits had anti Semitic overtones and Nazi references referring to Peter Peri’s grandfather’s article Peter Laszlo Peri which we found upsetting.
