Question from VINAY2012k (18:31, 29 December 2023)

how to write an article in Wikipedia --VINAY2012k (talk) 18:31, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

@VINAY2012k: Hi, thanks for your question. A good place to start is the article wizard. Please also read WP:Your first article for general advice on how to start. Most importantly, you should make sure the subject you write about has significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic (WP:GNG). Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks, — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 05:00, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Wxxvy (22:25, 2 January 2024)

How do you properly import citations on to articles? I’m new to this, so I don’t really know how to. --Wxxvy (talk) 22:25, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

@Wxxvy Hi, thanks for the question. The easiest way to create citations is to enter the visual editor and click the "Cite" button. This automatically generates a citation from a url, a book ISBN, a journal DOI, etc, and is really useful! See Help:Referencing for beginners for more help. Thanks! — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 04:57, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Ayolaba (18:25, 5 January 2024)

What should I do if a page I want to write has been vandalized and the page is currently protected so that only administrators can create it. But it's a vital and notable article to be added to Wikipedia? --Ayolaba (talk) 18:25, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

@Ayolaba: Hi, first you should send a message to the admin who blocked the page (which is Lectonar). You can also request for a reduction in protection here: Wikipedia:Requests for page protection/Decrease. It will probably only be unprotected if your draft is accepted at AfC, or if you can demonstrate the draft doesn't have the same notability or copyright issues as before. Thanks — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 08:50, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
I have already written the article with a bracket, can it be moved to the page that's protected by the admin that protected it or by any other admin? Here's the draft that I have written Draft:Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer) and page that's protected Kourage Beatz NSI. What should I do? Ayolaba (talk) 09:01, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
It can be moved by any admin. You should probably wait until the draft is reviewed. You can also do either of the things I said above. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 09:33, 6 January 2024 (UTC)
Can I still request for reduction of protection even though I have submitted Draft:Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer) for review. Which one is best, is it to wait for Kourage Beatz NSI (Nigerian producer) to reviewed if published, I will ask an admin to move it or to just request for reduction of protection now. Questain from Babysharkboss2 (10:34AM, 10 January 2024)

Sorry about that time on the top, I don't really know military time. The questain I have, is that is there a simple way to make wider Userboxes, like you did with this radiohead userbox? Sorry if this bothers you, just curious! Babysharkboss2 was here!! XO 16:37, 10 January 2024 (UTC)

@Babysharkboss2: Hey, its no bother at all, thanks for checking out my boxes! The template is {{Userbox-w}}. You can check out that page for instructions how to make your own: you basically can just copy and paste one of the examples, and fill in what you want. You could also try taking the source code from a normal userbox and adding the "-w" to the template name, making it wider. Does that help at all? Thanks — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 04:19, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
Yup, thanks!! Babysharkboss2 was here!! XO 16:20, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

how do i edit --Glo network (talk) 04:15, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

@Glo network: Hi, you can click the "Edit" button at the top of most Wikipedia articles and publish edits there! Don't be afraid to contribute, and be bold! See Help:Edit for more information! If you are wondering how to learn how to edit, good places to start are Help:Introduction and Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia. Thanks! — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 04:28, 11 January 2024 (UTC)

Thank you so much for joining the drive! There are a lot, and I mean A LOT of unreferenced articles that's about music and albums. Here are a few that you can try out and flesh out your editing procedures:

Best of luck for the drive in February! I cannot wait to see what you are up to. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 06:43, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

Question from Justinbenji (20:21, 27 January 2024)

A page that I'm trying was deleted and protected by an admin, I tried connecting the admin, but he didn't respond, what should I do? I've tried requesting for unprotection on the unprotection request, but didn't get any response either, please what should I do? --J U S T I N B E N J I (talk). 20:21, 27 January 2024 (UTC)

PerfectSoundWhatever here's everything I explained to him User_talk:Lectonar#Request_From_Justinbenji_(9:12,_27_January_2024) and I have been editing the article on my sandbox User:Justinbenji/sandbox. Please is it written from a neutral point of view and what do you think of the situation and what I should do. J U S T I N B E N J I (talk). 21:19, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
Looks like the admin responded and you can create the draft. The best thing you can do is fix the issues with the article (prove that it passes WP:GNG; BroadwayWorld is not considered a reliable source per WP:RSP, so you should remove it) and submit it to AfC. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 04:28, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
Okay, thank you. J U S T I N B E N J I (talk). 06:36, 30 January 2024 (UTC)
