A long long time ago you expanded author David Benedictus

and now after many many additional edits the article 'flows' strangely. In particular you had added a paragraph beginning:

At the time of the book's publication ...

in what is now section Life for author David_Benedictus.

At that time of editing, the most recent newsy event was that the author had written Return to the Hundred Acre Wood. It would seem then that your sentence was referring to that book. But the article mentions other books and works between the lede and this now abrupt sentence.

It would be good of you to make clear to this dull reader which book is being referred to. Perhaps the third/fourth paragraphs currently under 'Life' ought to be moved to their own section and specifically about his 2009 book? Shenme (talk) 01:39, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

Hey, do you know how to transfer files to the Commons? I cam across this photo of Endo which is on the Japanese Wikipedia but not on the Commons (as far as I can tell). You mean EnHo maybe? Heh. I thought only I did that. It is strange. I didn't think it was possible to only have an image on one language wiki. Couldn't figure it out. You could copy it to wiki commons as it is public domain, but that's an iffy issue. the uploader's page says he understand high level English. You might try putting a message on his page. No it wasn’t one of yours, it was this one. I have seen files on the English Wikipedia that are eligible to be transferred and there is a procedure for it, see Wikipedia:Moving files to Commons. @ImmortalWizard: In theory yes, but in practice it should be left to admins or editors who are experienced in dispute resolution. It’s just my advice to you, which you are free to ignore, but I have seen over-enthuastic editors leap in at ANI before, and it rarely ends well for them. Your proposal was closed down within an hour - that should tell you that it was not well thought out. If you do too much of that kind of thing, you will get topic banned. I see you have already done good content work, so continue with that instead of hanging around the drama boards. You already have nearly twice as many edits to ANI as I have had in 12 years. Draft:January 2018 Basho

Hey, I had an idea - tell me what you think. We put the traditional west/east listing in the banzuke section only and then put a traditional "most wins at the top, fewest wins on the bottom" standings table at the end of the article to help show the results. If there were a way to show promotion/relegation results as well similar to what is found on association football articles, that would be great as well, but I know it isn't as cut and dry in sumo often, so not sure if that would work. @Royal Autumn Crest: I'd be open to that idea. I used the table that Bmesd matt did for some of the year in sumo articles for consistency's sake, but we could play around with different formats. Representing Japanese

Do you have thoughts on whether we should be using the common accent marks for rikishi? I have been using the plainest English characters (i.e. "Goeido"), but honestly I prefer the accented (i.e. "Gōeidō") because it helps me "hear" the correct pronunciation. Hi, I was advised by a more experienced wikipedian that it would be fine to list chessmetrics for an AFD or to reach out to you on your talk page. Would you like to improve the article and include non-primary sources and address the concern that this article does not meet general notability guidelines? @LaceyUF: You may well be correct that it doesn’t meet GNG, but the best venue for determining that is at AfD. A prod is only really for articles where deletion is completely uncontroversial, and I don’t think that applies here as Chessmetrics is mentioned in dozens of our chess biographies and it shouldn’t be deleted without discussion. HI DBigXray, sure. One of the criteria for posting a Recent Death is that it is a "non-stub". There isn't a standard definition of what a stub is, but I tend to go for the "DYK check" of 1500 characters "readable prose", and at 1596 characters it just barely clears that. There is very little detail on his life before the 1990s. In my opinion it's a bit of a stretch to call it start class, but like I said, what's there is sourced so that's why I'm not opposing it. Good to know that you also follow the 1.5KB stub rule. I only consider it what it really is, i.e. "a thumb rule" and not a policy. As far as this stub rule is concerned, the article clearly passes it and hence the criteria is met. End of this point. If it is larger than stub, It will be called Start class. Remember thankfully, there is no article class called as a "Barely Start Class". So even if you feel it is a stretch to call it start class, it still is, a start class. This was all nitpicking so far. Now here is the main thing and the real reason I started this thread, it is WP:NOTBURO and I am sure you are aware of it as well. We here are to build up an encyclopedia, that is the main goal. At ITN/C we highlight our articles that are in the news and the readers can find the information useful. The reason why stubs are not promoted is because they contain a line or two which may not really be of much use to the reader. Now Radadia's bio although a start class contains a lot of useful info that a reader may find useful to know and hence the article as it stands right now deserves to go to the main page. Now I am aware this article will not pass a GA review but it is not intended to pass a GA review at this point of time. So all this bickering that There is very little detail on his life before the 1990s is useless as far as the ITN is concerned, frankly IDGAF what he did before 1990 and if some one cared about it, he will add up that info, if he finds it somewhere, we arent going to wait for that person to add it up into that article before moving it to main page. The intention here is to make the article main page worthy and a webpage worthy enough to be clicked and read. Which this article met. All this is my own opinion, in response to your comment on the ITN.
