Good Work[edit]

Just to give you a short virtuell handshake... Good Ghana related work, Natsubee. As workmate in german wikipedia (no english account), user name Abena, I am glad to see this good work penned by you. Best wishes, hoping for some good interwiki relations. --80.144.115.46 08:21, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the compliments. Hope we can collaborate on some projects in the future.--Natsubee 16:33, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For sure, we will. Any ideas for good interwiki work already... I assume you german is fluent ;-) . I saw your main work this time is based in ghanian university's an politics. What else? Is there any plan to create a wikiproject Ghana in the english wikipedia, or anything else that brings the people together working on for instance Ghana related topics ? You may answer on you page, but on weekends or public holidays I do not spend much wikipedia time. Hoping to be forgiven..;-) Abena--80.144.75.101 06:32, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I speak no German at all unfortunately. I have started thinking about a Wikiproject Ghana. I am new in that department and have not yet worked out how to go about things. I see you have a Wikipedia:WikiProjekt Ghana already and I may have to learn from your project. Certainly, I think a Wikiproject Ghana is called for.--Natsubee 05:23, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No doubt about it. Will help other language-projects Ghana to come out. If there is any helping hand, I can spare one... Just contact me Abena. btw...Interested in ghanian author/professors' ? I`ve just had an e-mail from David Owusu-Ansah, ghanian professor James Madision University, history department, with his detailled CV. I could forward the text to you, if you want to write the engl. article. Or you get in contact yourself here. He is very friendly, an answer will come for sure. --80.144.120.150 17:55, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just something to be added: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Latvia, Wikipedia:WikiProject Tunisia, Wikipedia:WikiProject Micronesia, or Wikipedia:WikiProject_Chile ... Let's get it started... Wikipedia:WikiProject Ghana Abena--80.144.120.150 18:01, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MediaWiki interfaces for ee and ak[edit]

Hi Natsubee. When I saw that you had translated some messages for ak.wp, I already thought that I had seen your name before. And of course you have already done a small amount of translation work in Betawiki for ee is what I found out a little later. I would like to let you know that I copied the messages that had been translated in ka.wp to Betawiki and will commit them to MediaWiki so that they can be used everywhere.

The second reason for writing this note is to ask you if you are still interested in working on the MediaWiki translations for ak and/or ee. You appear to be one of the few active Wikimedians that are able to write in those languages and your expertise is of high value. Please do not hesitate to re-visit Betawiki. Hope to see you soon. Cheers! Siebrand 12:30, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 00:41, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Great to hear from you. Well I live in Ghana and am serious about developing Ghanaian content on WP. Is there any thing we could work on together. -- CrossTempleJay  → talk 00:59, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What about getting a WikiChapter in Ghana?[edit]

After reading much about what you've done and are still working on, I'm really impressed. I was though surprised initially, because Ghanaians don't patronize WP that much. But you've really proven me wrong. However, as I read on, I realized you're not in the country. I guess its an added advantage why you're about to support Ghana contents much since internet connectivity in Ghana is troublesome endlessly even though there are countless of telcoms around.

We (a guy in Ukraine, myself, and another guy in Ghana) was and is thinking of creating A wikiChapter in Ghana. For that, I won't be surprised if you've thought of that before. But I think its a good thing to work on. I read much on how to start and setup a WikiChapter. What do you think about it? Will be fine? Well, I don't know of your circumstances as at now. But I just wanted to put before you to see how you think about it.

If you're also planning of that, then, you're not alone. Some guys down here are also in the process of getting things done. Not taken off though, but still thinking about it. We hope it one day comes into reality.

Also, I was trying to figure out whether to start WikiNews in Akan. I was wondering if that will really fetch the required audience. Don't know finally though, but still thinking about it.

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for giving me a spacious place to write on.

Will be waiting for you comments.

Hello Natsubee, I noticed a few inconsistencies in a page you created; List of MPs elected in the 1992 Ghanaian parliamentary election. I compared the list of MPs in the page to the list in the 1992-1996 Parliamentary Register from the Parliament Library and I noticed certain names that appeared in the register did not appear on the Wikipedia page. Also, the composition of the MPs representing the various parties is inconsistent with the list. In the composition, the EGLE party has only one MP in parliament however, if you go through the list, there are more than ten MPs representing the EGLE party. Unfortunately, the sources cited on the page are either closed or do not contain any list of MPs. Please let me know the sources you used for your work. If you do not have any I will want to humbly suggested that I make the various changes using the information I had from the 1992-1996 Parliamentary Register from the Parliament Library. Please get back to me when you can. Kind regards. Kinvidia (talk) 11:13, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Unfortunately, my time on Wikipedia is now sporadic due to work schedules. Fill free to make changes as appropriate. Some of the links for the sources are no more available. The main links still valid give conflicting data. They are African Elections Database - Ghana Detailed Election Results and List of MPs elected in Microsoft Excel file (Electoral Commission of Ghana) which downloads an Excel file from the Electoral Commission of Ghana (ECG) website. These are the two external source links at the bottom of the page. The current link on the ECG website Parliamentary Election Results: 1992 issues a security warning so I have not stopped short of accessing it as it does not appear to be secure. If you have access to the Parliament Libbrary, that would be great as I am not in Ghana. Please note that MPs elected after 29 December 1992 are listed in the By-elections section.--Natsubee (talk) 11:21, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Great, thank you for the information. Kinvidia (talk) 12:14, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Need help with an article[edit]

I want to create the page; Political organization of the Ashanti Empire . My only question is that can I use sources from SHS text books such as [this one] ?. The book link I just sent contains footnotes or references to history books on the Ashanti Empire such as famous works by Davidson Basile and Shillington. My main question is that will it be okay if my sources are approved SHS text books? Kwesi Yema (talk) 17:05, 9 December 2020 (UTC) Kwesi Yema (talk) 01:07, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As at this very moment, the image is still on the page of Edward Akufo-Addo. Your bot is malfunctioning. You need to check it.--Natsubee (talk) 11:13, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have had other images deleted in the past as I am not that regular on Wikipedia and miss some of these messages. These bots need to be fine tuned because getting sources and images on things in Africa can be difficult and I do not expend my energy searching for these things any more as they get tagged for one reason or another and deleted. This comment is not targeted at you. I have raised this elsewhere and the response is the same that it is unfortunate Wikipedia has a "Western bias" but it can't be helped. The image still fulfills the Wikipedia:Non-free content policy. I will not post anymore pictures under this policy as I do not have the time to monitor all these bots. You need to check it. If you still think it needs deleting and that this will make Wikipedia better, so be it. Thanks.--Natsubee (talk) 11:26, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
