Disambiguation link notification for April 30[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Zimbabwe national rugby union team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Denton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your contributed article, Luke hume[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Luke hume. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Luke Hume. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Luke Hume – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ZappaOMati 22:17, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Luke Hume has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. An article you recently created, 2019 Collegiate Rugby Championship, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Copying licensed material requires attribution[edit]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Letterbreen you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Open Government Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:2018 Collegiate Rugby Championship, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Hello, Mrgoggins90. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2018 Collegiate Rugby Championship".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 21:31, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ireland vs Scotland head to head[edit]

Hi Mrgoggins 90. You recently made an edit to the Ireland vs Scotland history page which I reverted because I am skeptical of the reliability of your source. I have a couple of questions.

1. Who is the author John Griffiths? What are his credentials?

2. The source states that both "Scotland" (who in Scotland?) and "Ireland" (who in Ireland?) recognized the abandoned match as a test along with the replayed test but where have both the actual SRU and the IRFU stated this? What source does the book itself reference? It appears to completely lack citations. Infact the IRFU only recognize 66 wins in all articles about head to heads between the two sides. SRU's website has said the same. This completely contradicts the book which was published in 2000.

3. Ignoring above, where does your source even say the abandoned match apparently now recognized as a test is also recognized as a win for Scotland? In the majority of cases, matches abandoned early are declared as a draw even if one side is leading. See Japan v Hong Kong 2015 and the most recent Rugby World Cup. You're gonna need a really good source if you want us to even entertain the notion a 20 minute game should be recognized as a Scottish win because even your own source doesn't say that. Stevenbfg (talk) 00:31, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Stevenbfg I too question the merit of a 20 minute match. However, the Irish rugby statistics page acknowledges that to date Scotland have won the matchup 67 times. https://www.irishrugby.ie/ireland/men/statistics/ This led me to credit Scotland with 67 wins. Unfortunately, the links you have attached led me to error pages. Mrgoggins90 (talk) 04:58, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mrgoggins. Apologies I must have formatted incorrectly. Here are the links:
https://www.irishrugby.ie/2020/02/01/head-to-head-ireland-v-scotland-17/
https://www.scottishrugby.org/tickets-and-events/events/ireland-v-scotland
So the IRFU appears to be contradicting itself. Both these articles were published 2-3 years after Scotlands last win and IRFU refers to the 1885 abandoned game as simply "abandoned" instead of a loss. The SRU do not appear to disagree either.
I've actually emailed the IRFU directly to ask them to clarify. For all we know the article writer may have just copied wikipedia and the statistics page writer as well when Scotland had 67 wins listed a few months back. Hopefully they respond.
Stevenbfg (talk) 21:15, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Stevenbfg. I appreciate your diligence in contacting the IRFU and look forward to hearing their reasoning. I am hoping that the match is simply regarded as abandoned by both rugby unions and that the IRFU change their statistics page to reflect that. Kind regards Mrgoggins90 (talk) 06:11, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lions Japan[edit]

Hi there, just wanted to let you know that currently the Lions Japan match isn't classified as an official test match by the Lions as of yet (has to been classified by the 1888 Club who haven't met as of yet) and so therefore I've reverted some of your edits on caps and on the main Lions page. Many thanks. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 13:40, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Republic of Ireland players with PGA Tour wins[edit]

Hi I noticed that on Séamus Power's page you incorrectly added he was the fifth player from ROI to win a PGA Tour event. You added James Edmundson and Peter O'Hara. For a start Edmundson was from Northern Ireland not the Republic so he has been removed. Peter O'Hara won events in the 1921 New Jersey Open and the 1922 Houston Open. These wins were prior to the inception of the PGA Tour which was not created until 1929. So how are they PGA Tour wins ?. Also O'Hara changed his nationality to American prior to the 1924 US Open as he finished T7th under the American flag. Can you tell me do you know what year he changed his allegiance to the US ?. Regards 80.233.24.156 (talk) 15:52, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi my changes were in response to this from ESPN stats info account. https://twitter.com/espnstatsinfo/status/1416925244959383554?s=21 However, I could not find another verified source to back up this claim. I think Edmundson was included here because he was born pre-partition of Ireland. I have no information regarding when O’Hara changed his nationality. Mrgoggins90 (talk) 18:38, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Well I am afraid EPSN should get their facts right because Ireland gained it's independence in 1922 and Edmundson did not win until 1923. He is Northern Irish. It says O'Hara won 4 times up to 1931. He was representing the USA in 1924 imo these two players should not be included as these wins were before PGA Tour inception. 89.204.228.133 (talk) 20:27, 19 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
