for creating Noone, something I had meant to do long ago but forgot about. Wikipedia needs more surname dab pages. -- Soap Talk/Contributions 14:43, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

LOL, can you please visit Infonerd2216's talk page? It is very important. I am terribly sorry for my rude behavior to you. I am hoping everything is doing well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.30.105.223 (talk) 02:33, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

LOL, I was not trying to be rude, but he was editing the colors for the Tulsa 66ers page and it was very unimportant and he is thinking I am an idiot or something like I was editing for the wrong reason. Could you please talk to Tom Danson and tell him that he is editing the Tulsa 66ers page for the wrong reason? Infonerd2216 (talk) 00:56, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Infonerd2216

date format

Hi there LOL, I will be changing the format on the dates of mma fighters too, aplying MOS:DATE ISO 8601, en dashes thanks for the info! --Vik.sanchez (talk) 14:21, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm able to convert the date formats and add en dashes with a semi-automated process, so if you don't feel like doing everything by hand, please do send me a list of articles that require those fixes. Thanks. —LOL T/C 14:34, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
my friend let me tell you that there are a lot of articles to fix, as you can see on this Category martial artists and here Ufc events; thanks --Vik.sanchez (talk) 17:29, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
That's a huge list to scan through, and it seems that most of them don't even have tables. I guess I'll make this a long-term goal. —LOL T/C 19:56, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
thanks, Ill change some too by hand --Vik.sanchez (talk) 18:32, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Removal of spaces after # sign

Hi -- I believe that the article from which you removed spaces after the # sign was actually fine as it was. So -- just as there is a space before the digit in "Number 3" and "number 3" and "No. 3", it is perfectly fine to have one in "# 3" -- as it was. Before I revert, however, to how it has been (for a long time in that article), I thought I would discuss it with you.--Ethelh (talk) 01:04, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

The number sign is a symbol, not an abbreviation, so the examples of words and abbreviations don't apply. If they did, we'd be seeing a space before every percent sign, but that's incorrect according to MOS:NUM#Percentages. Honestly, I've never seen any professional English writing with a space after the number sign, but I can't find a guideline to support this; perhaps we should ask at WT:MOSNUM? —LOL T/C 01:50, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Feel free to do so. Honestly, I've usually seen a space after. Apart from it being logical to me (for the reasons stated--I do believe that it serves has the same meaning as No., Number, and number -- and would be read out loud the same way), I think it makes it an easier read -- though I do agree that the percent sign is never preceded by a space.--Ethelh (talk) 02:05, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
I've started a section here. —LOL T/C 02:16, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Early responses are mixed, so I'll leave the spaces as they are from now on unless there's a dramatic change at mosnum. Cheers. —LOL T/C 17:31, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks.--Ethelh (talk) 18:21, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: DotA

Short of fully protecting the page and playing whack-a-mole with IP blocks, not much. My suggestion is to just disengage. They haven't done anything to the article itself. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 00:42, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Then take it to WP:ANI. I really can't do anything, I'm involved. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 00:50, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Dead Rising 2/Survival Horror

They're back. Since you got involved last time, I figured you might want to know. I've attempted to reason with him/her once more, but I don't forsee me having much luck given his/her reaction last time. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 15:38, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I have it watched, but thanks. Just fyi, I think they're probably going to try to use every argument possible in favour of their view and also repeat them even after they are dismissed; we went on a lengthy one at Talk:Defense of the Ancients. —LOL T/C 15:48, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
I got that feeling too. I've caught them screwing about in Mass Effect 2 as well. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 15:50, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

L4D Talk Page

I'm confused. Are you saying that your comment should be kept or deleted? It's just, you posted it on my talk page when I'm the one saying 'keep it', yet your words make it sound like you agree with me. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 15:27, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm confused by your confusion. I agree that my comment should be kept, but I'm just letting you know that I removed some of the IP's comments because they were obvious trolling or irrelevant. You made it sound like we're not allowed to remove comments under any circumstances (except for vandalism). —LOL T/C 15:43, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Ah, got it. Sorry, just had a sudden influx of stuff to deal with and I got a bit turned around. Anyway, in my opinion, trolling is usually vandalism anyway. However, are irrelevant comments really worth deleting? I'm sure most people have made irrelevant comments at some point, even if it's only agreeing with someone else. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 15:50, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Well, agreeing arguably helps form consensus. This addition is more irrelevant, where they go on about how I'm arrogant and rude, and how they're not "dumb" and didn't write whatever and only did this and that with the account. —LOL T/C 15:58, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Personally, I'd call that vandalism (especially with his previous behaviour) but then I'm jaded and cynical, so to each his own. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 16:00, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I need your help to fix the template. Currently, it only works for the NBA draft pages. But I want it to work for the BAA draft pages. Could you take a look? Thanks—Chris! ct 02:18, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Template:Infobox NBA Player

Hi. I have a question about Template:Infobox NBA Player. Is it at all possible to modify the infobox so that it can include refs or footnotes in the height/weight fields? I think footnotes could be helpful for resolving edit wars about players' heights and weights, but if I try to add something like that, I get a big red "expression error" message.

If adding footnotes is not possible, would it be possible to modify the infobox so that we can remove heights and weights without causing the infobox to replace those fields with ugly {{height}} and {{weight}} fillers?

Thanks, Zagalejo^^^ 01:57, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Try putting height_footnote = <ref>Height note here</ref> in an infobox now. weight_footnote should work the same way. Let me know if there's anything else I can do. —LOL T/C 03:35, 3 October 2009 (UTC) P.S. Nice work catching some of the seemingly obvious vandalism that never seems to be caught by the recent patrollers (e.g. Rancher95).
Yes, that seems to do the trick. Thanks a lot! Zagalejo^^^ 04:03, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Template question

Hi, got a question for you. Is it possible to make upright template (such as Template:NBA Awards) to also displays as a footer, perhaps by changing a parameter? Like Template:Current G20 LeadersChris!c/t 03:48, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

I think I'd have to make a general template, and then have the "upright" template transclude it before this can work, so if this is only intended to work for {{NBA Awards}} I would prefer to only work on that specific template. Also, I would have to know what to do with the headings (e.g. "Individual awards") because I don't see any headings in {{Current G20 Leaders}}, so could you make a footer version of the Awards template? —LOL T/C 11:03, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Is this what you want?—Chris!c/t 22:10, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Yep thanks, I'll work on it this week and hopefully it'll come out as something you like. —LOL T/C 01:00, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

{{User:LOL/Sandbox2}}
{{User:LOL/Sandbox2|footer=yes}}

Are you happy with this and all of the parameters in Sandbox2? —LOL T/C 04:28, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Yes, thanks—Chris!c/t 04:31, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
No problem. A few last things: How many groups and how many elements per list do we need? What should this template be called? I forgot to mention earlier that there are some differences between your footer and the current Awards template (e.g. "Brown Trophy" vs. "Walter A. Brown Trophy"); is there something I should do about this? —LOL T/C 04:37, 14 October 2009 (UTC) P.S. Thanks for catching the missing ROTY in my sandbox. :)
I think just follow the one in your sandbox with 3 groups. We can replace the current {{NBA Awards}} with this version. Also using the short name is fine. (e.g. Brown Trophy)—Chris!c/t 04:49, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
The problem is we need to create another template, or else {{NBA Awards}} will transclude my first sandbox. —LOL T/C 19:54, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
I don't quite understand, but feel free to create another one if you need to at Template:NBA Awards 2 perhaps.—Chris!c/t 22:59, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Try to replace the current version of NBA Awards with the one from my sandbox, and hopefully you'll understand. "NBA Awards 2" is probably not the best name for a generic template. ;) —LOL T/C 23:19, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
Ok. As for the name, I don't know what is a good name for the template, so I am leaving that for you to decide. Hope you can implement it soon.—Chris!c/t 01:55, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
Not trying to rush you or anything, but what is the status on this?—Chris!c/t 23:15, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Sorry for making you wait. The naming of the template is still the only issue, and I've been meaning to ask some more experienced editors but I haven't done that yet. —LOL T/C 23:19, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

It's done. I hope it works. —LOL T/C 23:55, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. Can you also create a documentation page to explain how it works? This is for those who don't understand how this works.—Chris!c/t 00:36, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Does the current documentation make sense to you? —LOL T/C 00:58, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, the one on Template:Navbox or footer is great. But I meant to ask you add a documentation page to Template:NBA Awards.—Chris!c/t 01:18, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Actually I'm not sure what to put on NBA Awards because any template that transcludes {{Navbox or footer}} would have essentially the same documentation, so I'm a bit reluctant to put anything now. I wouldn't mind if you make the documentation instead though. —LOL T/C 01:45, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Ok, never mind. I will just leave a hidden note to tell editors to read the documentation page on Template:Navbox or footer. Thanks—Chris!c/t 01:56, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

I noticed that you changed a section header in this article; citing this section of MOS:HEAD. Would I be right to assume that you "change[d] a heading only after careful consideration, because this will break section links to it within the same article and from other articles" and that after changing the heading you tried "to locate and fix broken links"? ~~ Dr Dec (Talk) ~~ 23:43, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

I considered the fact that "A, an, and the are normally avoided as the first word"; that "[s]ection names should not explicitly refer to the subject of the article, or to higher-level headings, unless doing so is shorter or clearer"; and that out of the 50+ articles that link to Skew-symmetric matrix, those whose titles contain "determinant" do not link to that specific section, so probably not many articles—if any at all—would link to that. Do you think I was careful enough and did enough damage control? Did you find any articles that linked to the section? —LOL T/C 00:20, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi guys, I passed from that article and I removed an old sentence that sounds quite wrong in the section "properties", and also added some info about the number of terms of the determinant in the section "determinant". Then I noticed you were recently working on those sections, and I eventually got here... So, I just wanted to leave two lines to say I didn't mean to interfere with your work. --pma (talk) 13:41, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry about me; all I did was rename a heading, so as long as you didn't modify a link to the determinant section there won't be any conflicts. —LOL T/C 01:02, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Negative Multinomial Distribution Applets

Could you please provide your opinion on this Talk:Negative_multinomial_distribution page? It's regarding the value of an external applet link and a results figure. Thanks. Iwaterpolo (talk) 05:37, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Tiki Ghosn

Hi there, I'm not trying to cause an edit battle by reverting your edits of this page, it's just that the section about his post-lawler fight comments may be difficult to source, but there is no reason that the user who added this information would be making it up. And the comment about his success in different organizations can be proven via his fight record, which is essentially acting as a source, it would just be pointless to source that, as the information is shown further down the page. I apologize if it seems like I'm attacking your edits, and I assure you I'm not. Please think about this, and if you have anything to add, post it on this page, as I do not have a talk page. Thank You. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Carjones (talkcontribs) 07:15, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Hey, no worries, I'm always down for a good discussion. I didn't see an attack and I hope you didn't see any from me. Anyway, the reason I wanted a source is not because I doubt the truth of the content, but because of Wikipedia's policy on "original research" (WP:NOR), which requires that "all material in Wikipedia must be attributable to a reliable, published source." In our case, the policy filters out some trivia because no reliable sources seem to care about Ghosn's post-fight comments or his non-UFC record. Does that make sense to you?
By the way, before reverting, could you check for other changes that were made? I did some copyediting and cleanup on his article according to Wikipedia's Manual of Style, and I don't think you meant to undo those. Also, you can sign talk pages by putting four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your message. Thanks. —LOL T/C 07:56, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Road Trip (CSI episode)

Hello. Thanks for your note. Sorry I didn't look into the matter deeper. You're right; the article seems to be a hoax or speculation about the CSI season finale, but in either case it should be deleted. Thanks again. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 08:33, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

if you cared to google it there are thousands of sources. i just picked one.

many, many thousands of us have paid for absolutely nothing. you don't even get the box and cd anymore, you download the game. and it doesn't work. people need to know this as it is far from an isolated issue but incredibly widespread. a quick google reads as over half of people who have the game as having major issues. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.214.146.53 (talk) 23:13, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

But are any of those sources actually reliable? We can't accept sources which aren't. The site you cited? Never heard of it. Chances are, it's unreliable. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 23:17, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
I wouldn't say that the sources you provided are that reliable; for an issue that's as big as you're making this sound, I would expect articles from bigger sites like IGN, Gamespot, 1UP, etc. Sure, whatever you Googled may show a bunch of users with problems, but until those problems are addressed by a reliable source, we can't really say anything; Wikipedia's content is determined by reliable sources and not what "people need to know".
At any rate, the pages you did link do not back up what you're putting in the article; they're just error guides that don't say anything about a large amount of users experiencing problems or their reports. —LOL T/C 23:28, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

NBA Infobox

Some of us at Project NBA came to an agreement that the current NFL format would be the best format for the NBA infobox. Basically take a look at the current NFL infobox and change NFL draft to NBA draft and change NFL.com to NBA.com. Being that you have experience on NBA templates, can you help? Beast from da East (talk) 00:07, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

I have a work in progress at User:LOL/Sandbox. It'll take me a while to finish because there are lots of parameters I have to check and I don't have as much free time as I used to. Any feedback would be nice, even when it's not done. —LOL T/C 01:50, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
It looks perfect, is it done? Beast from da East (talk) 16:05, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Not yet. I'll post at WT:NBA when it's close. —LOL T/C 19:56, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
It's about time to launch the new infobox, you ready? Beast from da East (talk) 18:53, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
There are still some issues to resolve, such as what to do with draft_team and whether we want something other than "Debuted in" / "Last played in". —LOL T/C 23:24, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Remove the salery section and I think it will be ready to launch. Beast from da East (talk) 20:37, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
Looks good. But can you make the Pro career line of the infobox to says "Pro career: XXXX–present" when the career_end parameter is left empty?—Chris!c/t 02:02, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Also do you think we should change the default color combination to the one currently on Infobox NBAretired? The black and white color doesn't look good imo.—Chris!c/t 02:34, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Doesn't matter to me. Go ahead if you think it'd be better. —LOL T/C 02:40, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
I am not sure how to change the color. Can you change it?—Chris!c/t 02:52, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Infobox NBA Draft

Hey, is it possible to extend this infobox to Expansion Draft articles? I've been thinking about this for a while. Thanks in advance for your help—Chris!c/t 19:59, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Besides the title, what needs to change for an expansion draft infobox? —LOL T/C 21:32, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Maybe add a parameter for the teams that involve in the expansion draft. Everything else is pretty much the same.—Chris!c/t 21:59, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
I implemented a parameter exp_team. "Expansion" appears in the title iff non-space characters are passed in. —LOL T/C 03:25, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Another thing needed is a separate succession box for expansion drafts. Is that possible?—Chris!c/t 06:08, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Just a comment, I don't think expansion drafts need a succession box. I think, if it's possible, it's better to link that year's expansion draft to the NBA draft, just like the example I tried here. I tried to do it myself, but I'm having no luck with the codes. — Martin tamb (talk) 11:28, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Can you guys come to an agreement before I continue coding? —LOL T/C 16:54, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Martin tamb's suggestion is good if it is possible.—Chris!c/t 18:54, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Check it out. For NBA Draft articles, the expansion draft link automatically appears in the infobox iff there was an expansion team for that year. Also, I forgot that one year could have several expansion teams; would you mind if I change exp_team to exp_teams? —LOL T/C 19:39, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Feel free to make all necessary changes, thanks—Chris!c/t 19:42, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the changes, the infobox looks great now. :) — Martin tamb (talk) 06:46, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
