Removal of material from Jeffrey Elman

I noticed that you removed, without explanation, a sourced paragraph in the Jeffrey Elman article (which you created, back in 2006) twice (once in Oct 2013, and again in Jan 2014). This is not actually acceptable behavior. If you think the paragraph should be removed, feel free to present your reasoning on the talk page, but do not simply remove it without explanation. I noted your request at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard. In it, you incidentally identify a user ID other than your own with a real person. That's a no-no here, and I therefore rendered your request invisible to the huge majority of people using Wikipedia. You may wish to rephrase it slightly so that it doesn't identify any other user ID, and post the result: nobody would have any objection to that. Meanwhile, I've noted what you wrote and I think that at least one other editor has too.

Apologies for the apparent (or actual?) bureaucratism. Wikipedia does take seriously the kind of matter that occupied 90%+ of your message, and your message will be acted on. -- Hoary (talk) 05:29, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Kk1892. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Jeffrey Elman, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. I am not sure if the issue is exactly a COI. Yes, I have a relationship with the subject of this page: I am that person. Thus, I believe this falls under the policies regarding Biographies of Living Persons, when I am myself the subject of the page. Please review the Talk history for details of the issues involved. My contention is that the material that has been restored is improper, defamatory, poorly sourced, and inappropriate. I raised these issues last year and after considerable discussion, the editors involved at the time agreed and removed the material. That material has subsequently (as of 5 July) been restored, contra the earlier decision. I ask that it be removed. Kk1892 - Jeffrey Elman
