Regarding the purposed speedy deletion of the Dubstep FM article

I think the article that i have created is valid and at least is considered as a stub. As i have written in the Article talkpage:

I believe that this article is not a candidate for speedy deletion for the reason that it is a completely legitimate and factual article with the information stated. Also, this article has sufficient enough information to be considered at least a stub. —Preceding unsigned comment added by NAXDON (talkcontribs) 01:36, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

New Comment (From me again)

Kaini, knowing that you like grime, should we start the Wikiproject Grime, Dubstep, and UK Garage? If you're in, I'm in. Let me know. DubCrazy (talk) 18:25, 11 August 2008 (UTC)DubCrazy

Re:Wikiproject

Yeah, you're right, I was thinking about your concern as soon as I left my message above... I understand about the artists. I was thinking about where we would find all the articles for the dubstep guys, anyway, but if a Wikiproject on Drum n bass has the potential, let's try to get it started (we could include anyone from London Elektricity to Goldie), and the genre has a much larger following. Well, I don't exactly have a lot of time right now, but if you could find two others that would like to help us, we could probably make it a pretty good project, and I'll also help a bit on the dubstep article (let me know what its missing and I'll do all I can). Thanks again. DubCrazy (talk) 03:20, 14 August 2008 (UTC)DubCrazy

Dubstep

Hello, how about to check references in Dark 2step article. Most of them clearly state Dark 2step mutated into Dubstep. Or arent those references good enough for wikipedia? -- 86.57.139.141 (talk) 00:40, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Please discuss it in here. Thanks. First reference is from british "Pitchfork" magazine where it is stated that dark 2step is a genre of music by putting ("nu dark swing") alternative name to it to article. Second reference is from german "Groove" magazine where it is mentioned about "dark 2step sound" as precursor to dubstep. Third reference is from canadian "Kick" magazine where both grime and dark 2step are mentioned as direct precursors to dubstep, btw dark 2step is called a "genre" in the article. Fourth reference is from australian "Cyclic Defrost" magazine, where dark 2step sound is described. Why they dont suit wikipedia?
So, please, stop unconstructive edits (like, adding nonsense template to article). By the way, there is no such thing as sub-subgenre. Thanks -- 86.57.139.141 (talk) 01:00, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, as the discussion touches at least two articles (Dark 2step, Dubstep), it hardly should be discussed at "Dubstep". Thanks. And, as seeing you are inadequate in calling citation from electronic music magazines "as point of view", and putting nonsense templates to the article, i am cancelling this discussion. See WP:OWN. Thanks. -- 86.57.139.141 (talk) 01:16, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Dark 2step, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks!

Please note that you shouldn't restore a PROD: whether it's removed by the author of the page or not (which it wasn't), if you want to see the page deleted, you have to go a different way. Nyttend (talk) 13:34, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

notability

Notable within the genre is a worrying phrase. WP:N exists to ensure notability outside of the genre, scene, community, etc. The second source you've added though appears to satisfy that though.--Crossmr (talk) 02:42, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Both you and User:Yaneleksklus have essentially violated WP:3RR here, so the page is now protected. Please discuss your dispute on the talk page. - filelakeshoe 01:33, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

I've declined the speedy request on Wonky (music), as per everyone else trying to A9 it. Not only is WP:CSD#A9 about recordings and not genres of music, but it is less than two weeks since this article survived AfD; a speedy deletion is clearly inappropriate. If you really think it warrants deletion, take it to AfD again, but I can't imagine much has changed in those two weeks. – iridescent 01:54, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Burial albums

Hi Kaini! Per WP:Albums, I believe all albums by artists should have their own band/artist cat. WP:Albums states "For album articles, there are three "top-level" categories: Category:Albums by artist, Category:Albums by year and Category:Albums by genre. Each album page should be placed into two categories, Category:<Artist name> albums and Category:<year> albums, which should be sub-categories of the respective top-level category. For consistency, the artist name should be the same as the title of their article (in terms of punctuation, "&"/"and", use of "The", etc.)." and "Previous discussions have formed the consensus that a category for an artist's albums should be created even if they have only released one album (irrespective of whether they are likely to release more in the future). Please ensure that every category you create belongs to at least one other category, otherwise, it cannot be navigated to and will be listed at Special:Uncategorizedcategories."

That should cover it if anyone tries to make a quick delete of Burials's important albums cats. :) Cheers! Andrzejbanas (talk) 23:53, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Ok, so I just read about the idea to redo the first para. of the Dubstep page. Re-Quoted below...

Dubstep - opening para

hey seckle/filelakeshoe... something i've spoken about with martin clark before - and that i am presently reconsidering - is the opening paragraph of the dubstep article. it could definitely use improvement. in a way it doesn't say much about what dubstep sounds like - instead, what it is busy doing is establishing notability, who coined the phrase, where the sound came from, and that sort of thing. here it is, broken down:

Dubstep is a genre of electronic music that has its roots in London's early 2000s UK garage scene.

this statement is fine - what this article is about, in a broad sense, and some context.

Musically, dubstep is distinguished by its dark mood, sparse rhythms, and emphasis on bass.

this could do with improvement - it's OK, i guess, and sort of explains the difference between, say, dubstep and psy-trance, but it could be a hell of a lot better.

Dubstep started to spread beyond small local scenes in late 2005 and early 2006, with many websites devoted to the genre appearing on the Internet and thus aiding the growth of the scene, such as dubstepforum, the download site Barefiles and blogs such as gutterbreakz.

this is where the problem becomes apparent - i'm reading this article for the first time. whilst things like sources, asserting notability, and the internet as a disseminating factor in the spread of the genre are undoubtedly important, a first-time reader of the article has no interest in this. his concerns are more along the line of "what is it?".

Simultaneously, the genre was receiving extensive coverage in music magazines such as The Wire and online publications such as Pitchfork Media, with a regular feature entitled The Month In: Grime/Dubstep.

same problem as before. i think i actually wrote this sentence :)

Interest in dubstep grew significantly after BBC Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs started championing the genre, beginning with a show devoted to it (entitled "Dubstep Warz") in January 2006.

and again, same problem... notability paranoia..
it's now a big, stable article. there is plenty of space to include all this stuff. the opening paragraph should include more references to other musics, more descriptive stuff regarding what this music actually sounds like.

I think the point about making it easy for new readers/people new to the sound is a valid one, and I think can be addressed in a few ways. The "What is it?" issue is the most difficult thing to nail down in one paragraph. There's the opinion that Dubstep started as a complete blender of genres, much further away from the UKG/2STEP foundation that is so often spoken about in regards to dubstep. Kode 9 and maybe even Simon Reynolds would tell you that dubstep is just a evolution of early hardcore, along with jungle. I think the critical point that we should all find a way around is how far are we going to go back when discussing the real foundations. For example..if we just think along the lines of BPM...137-140bpm was the speed of most 2step and quite a bit of UKG. Jungle was 150 to 170. Techno was a whole range of bpms from 135 to 160. Broken Beat was 145-150bpm. So...if we had to find a BPM partnership nearest to 140bpm, which is the most popular speed of Dubstep, its got to be UKG/2STEP. In my opinion that's the nearest direct parent of Dubstep. I think that should be our starting point in terms of the first paragraph. I think its also critically important to mention right in this first paragraph that UKG also had very different sub-genres built into its sound. UKG had tunes with sampled vocals, tunes with whole acapellas, tunes with most instrumental beats and some vocals, and then darker...more house driven strains by people like Zed Bias and Wookie. ALL of those UKG sub genres were directly influencing the early early start of this sound, especially the darker strain, which people like Horsepower Productions were into. Maybe the best thing to do is to have each of us draft up a re-write of the first paragraph and then we can maybe blend all three into one paragraph that nails all the objectives as per "notability". Incorrect Information relating to Limerick

Hi Kaini, I have tried to remove a sentence of incorrect and insulting text that someone has posted about Limerick. The sentence says that Limerick ia the murder capital of Europe. This is incorrect. There is a reference to a sensationalist newspaper article froma couple of years old. Also, this is many years old and it appears to the reader that the statement is surrent. Please inform me of the procedure for removing this text. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by IrishPatriots (talkcontribs) 11:07, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi Kaini, you will know that the title of murder capital was brought about due to the fact that in a 12 month period there were 7 murders in the city. This number of murders over a population of 90,000 people made the statistic 'murder capital'

Regardless of the merits of the article, the information relates to 2006. The statement in the Limeick article gives the impression that Limerick is 'currently' the murder capital.

You will also know that this year there was, unfortunately, 1 murder. Therefore, Wikipedia advertises to the world that Limerick is the murder capital due to 1 murder per 90,000. This is not the case. Can you let me know why you will not remove this statement?

In addition to the above point, I would like to know why there is a 'crime' section associated with the Limerick article and none assiciated with the Dublin article. I raise this issue because there were 13 murders in Dublin so far this year and 1 in Limerick. I realise that this may be beyond your remit.

Also, I know Garryowen very well. I don't live there but a lot of people I went to school with do. All fine people from my experience. I really don't see how Garryowen is better or worse than many other housing estate in Ireland. Also, would you agree that the problems in certain estates in Limerick are no worse than areas such as parts of Dublin or Corks north inner city?

I hope you do not think I am being a little cross. I am not and if I knew that the statement was referenced by timely data to back it up I would not query it. It does concern me that people may access this site and read information referenced by untimely data.

I hope you understand.

Thanks, Ed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by IrishPatriots (talkcontribs) 22:51, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Re: MythBusters

I saw it when I was browsing the USMC website for something else, and was about to upload it when I decided to see if it had already been, which it had. It's a shame that it's so hard to come by free images of the MythBusters at work, because the pages really could use some more images.

I've got some time off coming for Memorial Day, and plan to spend some time watching my DVDs and doing some work on the episode lists... I started this last winter, but wound up getting seriously sidetracked. If you're interested, we could collaborate on digging up some more images from Commons and dropping them in the articles. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 00:56, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Not really sure. I know that Flickr lets the uploader choose different licenses; I imagine Twitter has something similar. You could ask the folks at Commons, they would know much more than I. If the licenses are compatible, then Twitter could be a gold mine! bahamut0013wordsdeeds 01:10, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Partial vandalism reverts

Hi! Today there were two vandalism edits on the dubstep article (1 2). You reverted the 2nd one, but the 1st one remained. I've seen many cases like this where some vandalism gets reverted, but previous vandalism edits go unnoticed by other editors and remain in articles for years.

I'd suggest going to Preferences->Watchlist and enabling the "Expand watchlist to show all changes, not just the most recent" option — this makes it much easier to spot several vandalism edits that are made on the same day. -- intgr [talk] 17:50, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Dubstep article Links section abuse.

Dear Kaini, How have you been? Just looking over the Dubstep page recently, and noticed that not only have new, fairly dubious and promotional websites been added to the references/links section at the bottom, but Dubstepforum and Blackdown/Martin Clark's blog have been removed? Both removals make no sense to me, as both of those sites have been instrumental in the development of the genre. Is there an explanation as to why they've been removed and replaced with questionable links? Dubstepforum specifically, is the biggest net presence for dubstep on the internet at the moment. If you want evidence of this, please check Alexa.com. Looking forward to discussing this further. thank you. Seckle (talk) 22:30, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Re your message: Thanks. Though I do see that dubstep is still listed as a genre on his article's infobox. I defer to the editors over on the article to remove or continue to list it, though the inconsistency should probably be corrected one way or another. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 07:37, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Re your message: I was seeing how things played out. I had hoped that maybe this time, things would settle down, but I guess not. I made a WP:RFPP request as I would prefer that another admin set the semi-protection since I've been cleaning the list. That way I can avoid the "That admin is protecting the page to their preferred version!" argument. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:49, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Re your message: The page has been semi-protected for a year by Airplaneman, though I've asked him if he could adjust the protection reason. I didn't know that the genre was really that popular. I haven't heard of any of the artists listed, but perhaps I need to check them out. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:02, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

non-free image on dubstep

Re your message: It is indeed on Commons, so you will need to follow their deletion process. I haven't done a deletion request over there that was not speedy delete-able as either a blatant copyright violation or a personal attack image, so I won't be of much help there. You will have to follow the instructions at commons:Commons:Deletion requests. I'm not sure what the usual wording is over there for incorrect licensing, but I suppose you can try leaving something similar to what you wrote to me: Incorrect licensing, not his own work, the YouTube thing, etc. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:13, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

i recognize that i'm being a little unconventional, but what is "impressionism"? is it really just something that existed at the turn of the century and that we read about in history books or is it intimately tied into ambience?

excluding instrumentation, which i think is a trite differentiating point, what *is* the differentiating point between impressionism and ambience, or ambience and minimalism for that matter.

Re Julian Assange reverts

No problem - I've done the same thing myself. I'll check the article again later, but the important thing is to ensure that the alleged victims' names aren't added (per BLP policy, as already debated extensively), as the edit I reverted did - especially when accompanied with dubious speculation. AndyTheGrump (talk) 00:40, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the dialogue, however, I can't agree with either of you. I removed the alleged victims name from my entry, but I think that is completely ridiculous because her name is been published numerous times all over the world. So why are we hiding it now? I don't see the point. As far as Assange being the founder, I don't think that this topic has been clarified. The Wikileaks website does not identify Assange as the founder. It says various people from around the world founded Wikileaks. I have read the discussion and I don't think any of it addresses my concern. THC Loadee (talk) 02:08, 2 MARCH 2011 (UTC)

"as for the issue of Assange being the founder, I've provided a WP:RS reference that he is." Would you be so kind as to refer me to your WP:RS reference proving Assange is the founder of Wikileaks? I've gone through a lot of the footnotes and find nothing more than unsubstantiated assertions that Assange is the founder. I've read and listened to numerous interviews of Assange, I've listened to his lawyer interviews and I've read detailed research on his case by respected journalists, but none of it could lay out proof that he is the founder. So, I am very curious to see what you have. THC Loadee (talk) 01:20, 3 MARCH 2011 (UTC)

Alright, I am willing to concede that the CIA allegations are flimsy at best, therefore, I will stop the edit warring. While you may not consider it too important, I think the issue of Assange as the founder to be another example of lazy journalism. Your source for Assange as founder of Wikleaks was MSNBC.com. I don't necessarily consider MSNBC to be a reliable source most of the time. Corporate news does not do "real" journalism. They copy news from one source or they make stories up. It seems to me that the idea of Assange as founder is a meme. I have never read a quote from Assange whereby he states that he founded Wikileaks. This idea seems to be mostly promulgated by the U.S. corporate media. Perhaps to vilify him in the minds of Americans, so that later he can be lynched. This seems like Propaganda 101 to me. The Wikileaks site does not identify Assange as the founder. Where is the evidence? THC Loadee (talk) 04:08, 4 MARCH 2011 (UTC)

hey, shouldn't post-dubstep and ambient be lowercase? can't remember the MoS bit off the top of my head, but I think only first genre should be capitalised Doomgaze (talk) 23:01, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

WHAT WHAT WHAT. new This Will Destroy You leaked so i've pretty much been ignoring the rest of the music world, but i'm liking this so far, vocals are so chill. Doomgaze (talk) 23:22, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
if you're bleeping or youtubing it, chemical records are streaming pretty much all of it. i stayed up til 4am last night to hear the first play on BBC Radio 1. totally worth it :) Kaini (talk) 23:24, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
haha what the actual floosh is bleeping? cheers for that link, the one I was listening to had some guy chatting over it. first two tracks are great, listening to the third now. I might actually order this, my vinyl "collection" is pretty lacking. geez that's serious dedication! oh a completely unrelated note I like the lil "key matches" graph thing, i got a copy of VirtualDJ today and it's doing my head in! I've figured out the beat matching but things still mostly sound like shit, this might make up for my complete lack of knowledge of musical theory :p. Doomgaze (talk) 23:36, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
bleeping as in bleep.com - they have previews but you gotta click every thirty seconds to continue, which is a pain. and that 'some guy' is kode9 - owner of hyperdub and a pretty damn good musician in his own right! personally, i have all sorts of rare burial goodness on vinyl ^_^ - oh, and for DJing, traktor or ableton live are my go-tos. don't mind that virtual dj nonsense Kaini (talk) 23:43, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
aah I see, there's me a lil bit more educated now. kode9s awesome, got some of his stuff, didn't realise that was him though! I have a measly total of like 8 or 9 records, 5 of which are by This Will Destroy You (love that band too much). I guess i've gotta figure out how to work this thing before I try anything else. plus it looks pretty, which is the most important thing hahaha. you heard the new Distance? love it. nope - truth be told, there's only a few dubstep artists i still listen to (burial obviously - burial is the fucking man, also loefah, digital mystikz, mount kimbie, and the like); i developed a lot of the article along with two other users back in the day (good times :D), so i watch it cos otherwise it would rapidly become a massive linkfarm/promofest... i kinda wish i wasn't so invested in it, really. semtrangenic says that I can not call 12th planet the godfather of brostep even though he has the agressive metal sounding bass and is considered the godfather of US style dubstep which is associated with that style of bass.Matsuiny2004 (talk) 08:03, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

http://mixmag.net/words/features/united-bass-of-america

here is what I left on his talk page:

It says clearly in the article that 12th planet is the godfather of US style dubstep which we are calling brostep. Therefore he is the godfather of brostep. Bassnectar is called brostep and therefore can be considred a pioneerMatsuiny2004 (talk) 07:48, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

I read the first citation which in the brostep section which does mention brostep, but does not explicitly state or imply that skrillex is brostep so by your logic that should be deleted tooMatsuiny2004 (talk) 07:53, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

caps added to datsik and excision comment17:41, 31 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matsuiny2004 (talkcontribs)

p==rework of brostep== I am thankful for you including my writing in this section, but I am a little concerned that rusko is still viewed as the sole creator of brostep. I am accurate in saying this? I do know pioneer can mean one fo the first to do as well, but for some reason progenitor sticks out as the main creator to me am I accurate in thinking this? Matsuiny2004 (talk) 19:49, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

the mixmag article is an editorial piece - it reflects the opinions of the author. just because one author passingly refers to 12th planet as 'the godfather' doesn't make it so. also, and perhaps more importantly, rusko was making music in the style long before 12th planet was. what happened was that US producers drew inspiration from the style that caspa and rusko were using (perhaps most notably on their fabric mix). i wouldn't take the fact that one editorial article in mixmag refers to 12th planet as 'the godfather of the sound' in one sentence as a fact written in stone, it's just an opinion, albeit one we can reference. i think the section is much more neutral now, anyway, and reflects the fact that brostep isn't universally despised Kaini (talk) 20:01, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

12th planet or any of these other brosteppers has ever claimed to mainly be inspired by rusko and caspa. Actually the article says 12planet was inspired by mary ann hobbes and on his wikipedia page it says he announced in 2006 he would do dubstep which was way before cokney thug was released. Datsik only mentions rusko as a minor inspiration in passing in one of his interviews and nver even mentions caspa. coki and vex'd were around way before rusko was. Vex'd released an album in 2005. http://www.last.fm/music/Vex'd. Bar 9 is another influence on datsik so agian this shows it was not mainly caspa or rusko. If it was not for vex'd excision would not have even considered doing dubstep http://www.chinashopmag.com/2010/05/excision-death-or-dub-step/Matsuiny2004 (talk) 20:13, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

look, not *all* of the music any of these people made are an influence - what is the primary influence is the focus on midrange rather than sub-bass. this is a blog post so it's not WP:RS but it explains it all pretty well: [2] Kaini (talk) 20:23, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

My point is rusko or caspa is really no where to be found except as brief mentions and direct interviews point out other influences and acts that were around before both of them. This article has 12thplanet himself saying diorectly he was inspired by mary anne hobbes who was around before rusko http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/uponsun/2011/10/12th_planet_talks_dubstep_mary.phpMatsuiny2004 (talk) 20:28, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Kaini, and thanks for reinstating the entry to this article. Just to let you know, any redlink with incoming links is a valid addition to a disambiguation page. It should, technically, be made to clearly meet MOS:DABRL or MOS:DABMENTION, as it is now. If you want any further details, please see WP:DDD for a succinct explanation of the guidelines, or MOS:DAB for them in more detail. That'll save you having to check Googlle etc. Thanks for creating this page, it was clearly needed. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 21:43, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not remove citations or information sourced through citations simply because a link to a source is not working, as you did to Talking Heads. Dead links should not be deleted. Instead, please repair or replace the link, if possible, and ensure properly sourced information is retained. Often, a live substitute link can be found. Links not used as references, notes or citations are not as important, such as those listed in the "External links" or "Further reading" sections, but bad links in those sections should also be fixed if possible. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. The relevant dead link still exists on Wayback, with the quote: "I do still love David; I just wish he loved us." This dead link has been corrected. Peter Loader (talk) 11:46, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Hey, first thanks for helping out on the article. I'm planning on working it up to GA status eventually. But for your last couple edits, you should be careful with the phrasing. The way it's written now, you're using the Pitchfork Media source to back up things that it doesn't say. The line I'd originally had in mind with my version was "The production duo's energetic 12-hour online radio broadcast from earlier this month". The article was from March 22, and the CD release was March 23, hence my usage of preceding the album's release. But now you've got it supporting that the previous two albums had similar live webcasts, which is not in the source. Maybe you can find sources saying there were similar events for the last two albums and add those, then move the Pitchfork source forward a bit. Thanks. —Torchiest talkedits 21:44, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Jane Bainter edits

My name is Lee Bartolomei, and I was asked by Ms. Bainter to remove the comment that she was an addict. During the interview with Mullen you refer to, she never called herself that, and your stating in in a public forum defames her and has caused her a lot of distress. Removing those 5 words doesn't alter your article but will give her relief. Please make the change now so we can end the matter.

Hand-coding

Hey all :).

I'm dropping you a note because you've been involved in dealing with feedback from the Article Feedback Tool. To get a better handle on the overall quality of comments now that the tool has become a more established part of the reader experience, we're undertaking a round of hand coding - basically, taking a sample of feedback and marking each piece as inappropriate, helpful, so on - and would like anyone interested in improving the tool to participate :).

You can code as many or as few pieces of feedback as you want: this page should explain how to use the system, and there is a demo here. Once you're comfortable with the task, just drop me an email at okeyes@wikimedia.org and I'll set you up with an account :).

If you'd like to chat with us about the research, or want live tutoring on the software, there will be an office hours session on Monday 17 December at 23:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect. Hope to see some of you there! Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:59, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

cn tag usage

Hi, Kaini. I noticed this edit you made to the Aldi article. When giving a reason to the {{cn}} template, you should use "reason=" before the actual reason. This does two things. It properly displays the reason as a tooltip and it prevents the page being added to Category:Pages containing citation needed template with deprecated parameters. Also remember that tag templates and references usually should go after punctuation, the period in this case. See the {{cn}} documentation for details. Brian Eno

Hello,

I saw that you removed the sentence I have added to the Brian Eno article concerning the Pete Townshend lecture, which was properly referenced and a notable fact to be included into the article. Furthermore, you removed it under Wikipedia:Assume good faith, which is shear non-sense in this case, as it mostly applies to beginners and if you check my contributions page, you will find that I have been working on articles in the area of rock music here on Wikipedia for the past five years.

I will also ask for a second opinion at the article talk page and if other users agree I or someone else should return this notable fact into the article. Cheers.--Milosppf (talk) 13:47, 3 August 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:WeAreReasonablePeople.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:WeAreReasonablePeople.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 16:58, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

Please comment on an RfC about Living members of deposed royal families and the titles attributed to them on WP

Hello - I have opened an RfC about suggested guidelines in the Manual of Style for articles about living members of families whose ancestors were deposed as monarchs of various countries and the titles and "styles" attributed to these living people, at the moment often in a misleading and inaccurate way in my opinion. Please join in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Biographies "Use of royal "Titles and styles" and honorific prefixes in articles and templates referring to pretenders to abolished royal titles and their families"[3]Regards,Smeat75 (talk) 05:20, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi. I'm carefully copyediting this page because it was on the Guild of Copy Editors request page as a future GAN. Would you please hold off on your editing until I'm done with the copyedit (I plan to work off and on until tomorrow)? I'll tag the talk page when I'm done. Thanks and all the best, Miniapolis 18:09, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

Not a problem, I just made a small clarification to your edit to explain that both RDJ and GWC were DJing at the same venue when they met. There's a lot of unverifiable stuff in the article, it'll need serious trimming to make GA! Kaini (talk) 22:55, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your understanding, and I should be done tomorrow. Thanks also for that clarification; I'm unfamiliar with the subject, and sometimes the sources are unclear too. I don't think it's ready for GA either, but I've seen weird things happen there :-). All the best, Miniapolis 23:49, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

Re: Kobalt Music Group

Re your message: I reverted the article back to the last stable version in May. A lot of the additions from the last few days was copied directly from the cited sources. Following the citation links you can see that whole parts were copied over and just wikilinked. Trying to remove the copied parts with keeping the references intact would be a mess, so I just reverted the whole article. The odd wording, "...and royalties — and faster — than other publishers.", "said CEO and Founder Willard Ahdritz", "comments Ann Tausis" were immediate tip offs that something wasn't right. Sparkey925 started the copyright violations and 66.65.124.208 added the majority. It is probably the same editor logged out. I didn't look at the linking in as much detail as verifying the correctness would require a bit too much work than I'm willing to do at the moment. I'm way too tired right now to try to chase it all down, but I'll try to look at it later. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:06, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

I did a simplistic check with all of the artists that the IP edited. If the artist was not listed on the company's client list, I undid their edit. I suspect that a few of them might have been correct, but without proper references, I decided to lean towards the conservative side and undo the edit. Another editor can put the label back in if properly sourced and verified. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:28, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 24

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mercury(IV) fluoride, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mercury. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
