Your help desk edit[edit]

Hi, Jonscottcorp - I've undone your edit to the Wikipedia:Help desk because you somehow undid the last three days editing. Your previous question has been archived to Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2020 June 9#From Draft to Live_process / assistance. If, after re-reading the answers there, you need further help, please ask a new question at the help desk. -- John of Reading (talk) 18:01, 15 June 2020 (UTC) Hi, The previous name jonscottcorp was not in any violation including is not a business or aligned with any of the reasons for blocking. To avoid conflict I went ahead an created a new user name. User Orangemike is making decisions based on ego and ability to show power over others on wikipedia. Not everyone is a scam or unethical and should not assume so. If there is a concern it is best to have an honest genuine approach and discussion to better understand any concerns. June 2020[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Orange Mike | Talk 07:05, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My username is my first and middle name and does not represent a company. It is also my email address. The user name does not promote anything and is irrelevant to the article I wrote. Jonscottcorp (talk) 14:44, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

As you have created a new account, no unblock is necessary here. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 07:45, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

It is my personal user handle I use . I am not trying to be clever and i'm not sure what is causing you to target me . The username does not promote anything and is irrelevant to the article and in no way promoted. Jonscottcorp (talk) 16:53, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User:Orangemike I created a new username jonscott239 . I believe my jonscottcorp username does not violate the username rules however I wish to not argue. Now that I created a new username how do I move to publish the article when it is ready? Thank you jonscottcorpJonscottcorp (talk) 18:48, 17 June 2020 (UTC) , jonscott239Jonscottcorp (talk) 18:48, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'll just say that even if your old username does not actually represent a company, it gives the appearance of representing one and was likely to cause confusion - so thank you for choosing a new one. If you have a Draft and you are happy it is ready for publication, you can simply move it to the article title (without the "Draft" part) - you should find "Move" under one of the menus at the top of the screen (My menus are slightly customized, so I it might not be exactly the same for you). Alternatively, if you would like your Draft to be reviewed prior to publication, you can use the Articles for creation process. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 07:50, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
