Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Joey Akan. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 15:52, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Joey Akan has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. 331dot (talk) 15:53, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Apart from the issues mentioned above, there were other problems with the article Joey Akan, which have led to it being deleted. Firstly, the contents of the article were copied from http://joeyakan.com/joey-akan-bio/, apparently infringing copyright. Even if you are the owner of the copyright, we need proof that you are, as anyone can turn up at Wikipedia and make false claims of owning copyright, and unfortunately people frequently do that. Also, are you willing to license it freely for anyone to reuse in any way they like, either unchanged or modified in any way whatever, subject only to attribution to Wikipedia? That is what you do when you post content to Wikipedia, and very few people are willing to allow such free licensing of the contents of their web site. Secondly, even if you were to deal with the copyright issue, the content would be unsuitable for a Wikipedia article, as it was written in a promotional style, as though intended to impress readers with how great you are. which is what is to be expected on your own web site, but is not suitable for Wikipedia, which requires articles to be written in a neutral way. Thirdly, I have searched for information about you, and I am far from convinced that you satisfy Wikipedia's notability guidelines. If you don't, then no article about you, no matter how it is written, is likely to survive long without being deleted.
