March 2024[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. SpencerT•C 10:30, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand that the article was seen as an promotional attempt and I will take all the measures to fix the same according to Wikipedia guidelines.

Hello I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to address a pressing issue regarding the indefinite block of our Wikipedia account for the page of a renowned NGO publication house. We understand and respect Wikipedia's policies against promotional content and assure you that our intentions were solely aimed at contributing valuable information to the platform, rather than promoting the organization.

Given the significance of having an accurate and informative Wikipedia page for our NGO publication house: "India Development Review", we urge you to take immediate action in unblocking our account or provide us with clear instructions on how to rectify the issue. We are open to making any necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with Wikipedia's standards.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and kindly request your urgent assistance in resolving it. Please let us know the next steps we should take to address this issue promptly.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Regards, India Development Review. India Development Review (talk) 07:53, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have not proposed a new username as instructed. You will need to designate a single person to exclusively operated this account- accounts are for individuals, not groups. Your real name is not required. Something formatted like "JohnDoe of IDR" would be acceptable. Regarding the block itself, not every organization merits a Wikipedia article, only those that meet our special definition of a notable orgnaization, and receive coverage in independent reliable sources, do. Wikipedia has no interest in promoting your organization, that's what your website and social media are for. Please read conflict of interest and paid editing. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your organization. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a more general contributor and editing about topics for which you have no conflict of interest, like your Prime Minister/other government officials or the history of India or science, please tell what topics you might contribute about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:14, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I fixed the formatting of your post- you placed some of it in a section header. Edits should be placed in the larger edit window, not the smaller section header/edit summary window. You can avoid creating section headers entirely by clicking "edit" and not "add topic" or "new section". 331dot (talk) 08:14, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
