Printed circuit board merge

Graham, I don't see the point of history merges like this. Although on the same subject, they were clearly developed as separate articles. It would be better to keept the history of the abandoned article on the redirect page. The history belongs to that title and is not really part of the history of the article you moved it to. I generally approve of history merges so that past texts of a merged article are fully available to naive editors such as myself. The article about PCBs seems adequate on first reading, and leaving it alone is a respectable option. The sections are not balanced. It spends a lot of time on construction techniques and very little on design, but this may be OK because a consumer view of the process is pretty mysterious. I vaguely remember some historical information about design that has apparently been removed (I didn't look for it, and it might be entirely in my head). The article ought to have links to competing methods of electronic assembly (e.g. terminal construction and wire-wrap), so that people don't think it is the end-all. Why did you revert my edit?

Sorry I didn't mention this earlier, but why did you revert my edit in Wikipedia:Missing Wikipedians? If you say "then actually refrain from editing for 3 weeks are likely to have left Wikipedia", the reader will think that they have to stop editing for 3 weeks. Winnie-the-Pooh

I noticed that there is a protection level on the Winnie-the-Pooh entry, so I thought I would message someone who has worked on the page before.

I was doing some research for a class and wanted to add to the copyright agreements with Disney. I found this Guardian article from 2001 that states: "...Disney secures lasting rights to AA Milne's classic character Winnie the Pooh. The cartoon makers have spent $350m (£239m) to buy the honey-guzzling bear. Since they first bought the rights to the character in the 1960s, Disney has been paying twice-yearly royalties for the privilege. The new lump sum replaces that obligation, buying Disney rights to Pooh until copyright expires on the bear in 2026."

Nationality and Ethnicity

Hi, I saw your edit at Marco Polo and would like to see your point on view on a certain matter which experienced recently, ie., what I think is, general POV and double standard by (generally-speaking) editors on the matter of nationality and ethnicity. Currently there's a slow discussion (due to other editor (in)activity) at the talk page discussion. The editor User:Silvio1973 sometime edits non-Italian personalities, and recently met him for the first time at the article of Fausto Veranzio. We argued in the discussion Talk:Fausto Veranzio#Nationality?. Veranzio, actually Vrančić since other is the Italianized form of his name, is universally considered by ethnicity a Croat, but even then the editor Silvio1973 (on null basis) commented like "Italian... wrong as claiming that he was Croatian", and the exact resolution remained as it is - it was removed from the lead that he's a Croatian. The modern nationalities generally did not exist pre-19th century, but they claim their origin according the ethnical and cultural identity and history - thus we consider Johann Sebastian Bach a German, or Leonardo da Vinci an Italian, and so on even to the time BC. See your comment "by that logic, Johann Sebastian Bach wasn't German" - he was not nationally a German, but trace that through ethnicity. In the case of Faust Vrančić, we also don't have national identity, but his Croatian ethnical identity was absurdly denied by the editor Silvio1973. In the case of Marco Polo, there were previously some discussions, but without clear resolution, like Talk:Marco Polo/Archive 4#Venetian, not Italian or Talk:Marco Polo/Archive 4#"Venetian" or "Italian"? Maybe "Venetian (Italian)" is the best option. He was not an Italian by nationality, yet a Venetian (was it initally, for which we don't have any evidence, or later, since lived there), with which editor Silvio1973 agreed, but still did not forcibly edit like did with Faust Vrančić or simply because the discussion did not venture on this issue - while ethnically - see the revision in dispute at the sandbox. It's highly disputable Marco Polo was an Italian or belonged to this ethnic identity, it's only thanks to the Italian scholarship which all this centuries had primacy and authority in his case. They (intentionally) ignored or made very little mention that the Venetian historical sources (primary sources) did not consider his family originated from Venice, but from Dalmatia. @TheDJ: Nope, I have an iPhone but only use it for basic purposes (partly because the touchscreen is hard for me to use due to coordination issues, partly because I simply don't leave the house much). Therefore I'm probably not the best person to evaluate the improved accessibility in the app. However I'll let a couple of my blind friends who are heavy iDevice users know about the app's improved accessibility, and see what happens from there. @Checkingfax: JAWS reads out both the caption and alt text. Basically what I like to hear in an alt text is any information that would be important for somebody who can't see the image to know that isn't obvious and shouldn't be in the caption. Graham87 09:04, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

@Checkingfax: Until recently they read them out as normal text, but now with the introduction of the "note" ARIA attribute they note its presence that signifies the start and end of a hatnote. Graham87 07:38, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Image size in re: Accessibility

Hi Graham87. In the section Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility#Images there is nothing about maintaining image size to default thumb size whenever possible. Should we add something? If so, what?
