Pima Museum[edit]

I am not an expert on WWII US Army Air Corps units. When I was at the Pima museum, there was a very large exhibit to one of the bomb groups that set up shop in England to do runs over Germany. I don't remember which one, but it was almost like its own separate museum inside of the museum. Anyways, are you LDS? Isaac Crumm 05:25, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Utah Scenic Byways was featured on Wikipedia's main page yesterday under the heading "Did you know.... from Wikipedia's newest articles". They put a little kudo's on my talk page for creating the article, but it was actually your contribution that was mentioned (Mirror Lake Highway being the highest paved road in Utah). So passing along the kudo's. Thanks for helping with the article. Davemeistermoab 01:05, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Resurrecting the Utah State Highways Wikiproject[edit]

I have proposed resurrecting the Utah State Highways Wikiproject here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Subprojects. I think the decision hinges on are the editors currently working on Utah road article planning to stay, or do we plan to move on to other interests (which is fine, just need to know how many plan to stick around). You've done some great work on Utah roads articles recently, if you would like to opine, please do so.Dave (talk) 05:51, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have tons of pictures of the Uintahs[edit]

I have several pictures. None of them are as high resolution as what my Nikon D80 takes. I took a bunch with my Canon SD 750 at full res though. I will get them posted on my flickr account and mark them as CC Attribution Share-Alike. My flickr user account is slc_jm. (Note the same as my yahoo ID). http://flickr.com/photos/<user account name here> is the general format that I use. Climbjm (talk) 19:03, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When a page is tagged for speedy deletion as a copyvio, I follow the link to the purported source and compare it to the article. I'll also spot check by googling statements from the article, to see if I get exact matches. In this case, it looked like several paragraphs were added verbatim from this link, including some statistics. On that basis, I deleted the article. I'm looking back, though, and seeing that the violating text was in the very first version of the article, posted on 12 March 2006. What's interesting there is that, since it's three whole paragraphs that were copied, it's possible that the source (wilderness.net) copied us, which wouldn't be copyvio at all as far as this article is concerned. But I cannot determine a revision date for that webpage, and it was listed as an external link on this article, so it's unclear - which means, unfortunately, that we err on the side of caution and delete the article.

The Speedy criteria states that, if there is no non-violating version of the article to revert to, that the article should be deleted, which is what happened. Let me have a look, and I'll see if I can pull out some formatting or source information that might assist in rebuilding the article. I concur that the subject is quite notable, so we need something. Let me have a look. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 12:26, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I've restored some of the information, mostly the infobox and references. Unfortunately, there was no text that could be re-used, so I stubbed-out a simple lead. Hope this helps, and I apologize for any confusion; I could have made things simple and done this last night, but here we are. Please ping me if I can be of further assistance. Thank you for the Barnstar. I'm still working on Holy War (Utah vs. BYU). I'd like to expand a number of the sections so keep your eye out. Also, I cannot take credit for the infobox. Temple Graph[edit]

Hey Glennfcowan, you asked me to give feedback regarding your new graph for the temple article, so here I am. Overall, the graph is pretty good. I will say that overall, for a few little reasons, I prefer the look of the current graph. Here's my thinking: 1. The original graph provides a generalized look of progressing colors. In other words, the darker the color, the further progress along for the temple (with the exception of the endowment house). I like that look rather than a few simply different colors that show the different categories. That may just be a personal preference though. 2. I will also say that the new graph feels blocky. Again a personal preference, but with the old graph drawing a line in between the different years, it provides for a smoother graph. That's what I have to say. I have no idea what I am doing regarding graphical syntax, so I couldn't replicate it myself. Good luck with the designing! Rollidan (talk) 04:51, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback, Rollidan. I had tried progressive colors starting with yellow, which just got washed out. I have updated it to blues, which I like more. Thanks for the suggestion. I agree, the graph is more blocky. I don't know how the original author got the lines to be more smooth. It was done on an older version of MS Excel, so that may be why. I exported the file as a PNG this time, which made the image sharper. Another reason the graphs look different is that the axes are longer (150 temples vs. 225 and 10 more years) which shrinks the data. By the way, what do you mean 'the old graph drawing a line in between the different years'? Are you talking about the boundary line between the yellow, light blue, and blue areas? Or are you talking about the horizontal lines showing the number of temples? I tried a boundary line around each area, but even on the lowest line width setting, it dominates some of the smaller sections of the graph. Maybe I can do it at a much higher resolution so the line doesn't overpower the data. Take a look at the new file and let me know what you think. - Glennfcowan (talk) 15:31, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I just decided to go for it, I have added a version with an outline on the light blue section and at higher resolution. You should probably view the original file on the Commons to see the differences. By the way, I am graphing time by month, so the detail is pretty fine on the chart, for instance, the Nauvoo temple was used for around 4 months, so it appears as a blip on the graph where the original graph may have had it for up to a year.
