You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Knight Squad; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Amaury (talk | contribs) 03:44, 14 May 2019 (UTC)

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from The Chronicles of Prydain into List of Disney live-action adaptations and remakes of Disney animated films. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Liz Read! Talk! 18:53, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Hello, BrookTheHumming,
I was trying to figure out why you emptied Category:Oliver & Company characters and it would have helped if you explained your reason in an edit summary. As it is, I'm not sure whether or not to revert your edits because it's unclear why you removed these characters from this category.
Please always include an edit summary stating what you are doing and why. If you go into your Preferences (Editing), you can even check off a box so you'll be reminded if you make an edit without an edit summary included (it states Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary). It has really helped me consistently leave an edit summaries, even short ones are better than nothing. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 18:57, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
Ok, I'll take it into account for future editions. It is true that sometimes it is better to give an explanation of why the change. Thanks for the warning. BrookTheHumming (talk) 20:26, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Copying licensed material requires attribution

Hi. I see in a recent addition to List of Frozen characters you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa (talk) 14:34, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Category:Disney animated cats

Hello BrookTheHumming. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Category:Disney animated cats, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A3 is for mainspace articles only. Thank you. BangJan1999 22:56, 19 February 2023 (UTC)

OK. So, in order not to make another mistake with the templates, if in the future I see an empty category, what should I add in the category would be the template {{db-catempty}}? BrookTheHumming (talk) 18:20, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
The CSD code for empty categories is C1. "A" criteria are only for articles in main space.
Also, please do not remove all of the contents of a category and then tagging it for speedy deletion. This is called "emptying categories out of process" and is considered disruptive editing. Your edits can be reverted. If you believe a category should be deleted, merged or renamed, please make a proposal at Categories for Discussion where your argument can be considered. This is especially important for categories as there is a hierarchical category structure. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:03, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

Edit warring

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Anastasia (1997 film) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:31, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

Yes, but it's not because of what "I think it should be" as I'm just removing personal speculation from the page, added by Callahankierankiki, who started the edit war by creating a Wikipedia user profile just to revert content from that page and from "Anya (Anastasia)" due to personal opinions and desires regarding the character, expressing personal reasons instead of impartial (saying as an argument for its editions things like "This should be so because the world wants this"). I apologize for this edit war as I didn't want to cause trouble. I think the best thing would be to maybe lock both pages for a few days or at least a week for admins only. Me and other users will not be able to edit it, but at least this type of war edits will be avoided for a few days. BrookTheHumming (talk) 18:56, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
Edit warring is not about whether you are right or the other person is right. WP:3RR is quite strict. If need be, leave the incorrect version and open the discussion. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:02, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
It is possible to do what I have proposed? Revert all edits made by Callahankierankiki and me on February 22nd on both pages to the last edit before this edit war started (moments that began: 1 · 2), and lock both pages for a few days. Since from what I see, Callahankierankiki continues with this edition war despite having received the same notice as me. I'm not just saying this for Callahankierankiki and myself, I'm saying this to avoid possible looping issues between other users regarding these controversies, at least for a few days. BrookTheHumming (talk) 19:42, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
The page has been reverted to the pre-edit-war state. Callahankierankiki has been temporary blocked and reported for sockpuppetry. That should calm things down for now. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:32, 22 February 2023 (UTC)

Cross-namespace redirects

You recently created Donald & Goofy and Donald and Goofy as cross-namespace redirects, as it's a link in article space pointing to a template. That's not considered a proper redirect, and can be speedily deleted. More importantly I wanted to let you know that it shouldn't be done in the first place before you wind up making more of them.

Also, I think a lot of the recent navboxes you've made are, frankly, of subjects too slim and obscure to need navboxes. Looney Tunes characters that appeared in like half a dozen shorts and then occasionally make cameos decades later are nit major characters and don't need navboxes here. Because this is not the Looney Tunes Fandom wiki, where those might be appropriate, it's a general interest encyclopedia. A list of appearances for such unsung Tunes (as they were once referred to in a famous poster) on each of their articles (if they have them, not all characters do) would be more appropriate.

Oh, and if a character doesn't have a separate article they definitely don't rise to navbox worthy. oknazevad (talk) 02:11, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

Pluto (film series) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Pluto (film series), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG. Also, please be aware that the sources need to talk about the film series, not just the individual films, and be in-depth.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Heads-up on Mickey Mouse redirects

For some reason, a bot recognized the "Mickey Mouse (film series)" as the same as the "Mickey Mouse" Disney Channel series, and has been breaking the redirects for the original cartoons that don't have their own articles. I'm not sure how to entirely fix such redirects to prevent the bot from making this mistake again, so this is a heads-up from me. Harryhenry1 (talk) 05:00, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Maybe we can make a movie..... Firstly what do you want? Yfdhxfbz (talk) 15:27, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
Please pardon the intrusion @BrookTheHumming:, it would appear:
  • @Harryhenry1: wants to be a better editor, and asked for your assistance in finding a solution-- obviously assuming some knowledge/talent on your part, maybe that was quite the stretch vis-a-vie your deflection with humor and incredulity.

Some bot may come along and undo your edit.
  • Harryhenry1 implies, I didn't check, this may also be true for the related redirects from the individual cartoons that should continue to redirect to Mickey Mouse (film series).
  • The question being: How does one prevent/inhibit these bots, and I presume future bots, from making further mis-directions?
In my brief research attempt, I did not find a solution.
Is there some generic preventive anti-bot tag that can be applied to these redirect articles??
Or perhaps some tag to flag when any bot changes are made-- to appear in some Category:Suspect_bot_activity that editors review???
Preferably with the ability to attach custom descriptive text prescribing what the reviewer needs to catch from such changes, in this case {{Flag bot|Please verify redirect actually refers to cartoon, not film}}.
Any help you may provide would be greatly appreciated. WurmWoodeT 19:18, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
I don't know the functionalities of bots to avoid that kind of thing. But apparently the problem was caused by this edit. A user added a redirect to the Mickey Mouse series episode list, and that caused the bot to automatically change the redirect on pages that were redirected to "Mickey Mouse (film series)" to that episode list instead. It is possible that the editions of those bots in "List of Mickey Mouse cartoons" during 2013 and 2015 were for something similar regarding the changes of redirects in other pages. BrookTheHumming (talk) 19:44, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Dangerverse requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
