Precious[edit]

sea anemones and outer garden

Thank you for quality articles such as Diadumene cincta, Hikarigaoka Park, Moro Heritage Site and Meiji Shrine Outer Garden, for moving photos to a gallery, for improving List of works by Vincent van Gogh, for being a shining light in discussions, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

You are recipient no. 2545 of Precious, a prize of QAI. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:34, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! It's been a lot of fun too.BrightOrion | talk 07:20, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

July 2021[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on AA Battery. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at AA battery. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Bbb23 (talk) 16:13, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. 85.255.237.114 (talk) 17:10, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Additional comment; whether you are "right" or "wrong" about an edit, it's ill-advised to immediately resume and edit-war that you just got blocked for. OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:47, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, so am I allowed to now do the referenced edit on AA battery regarding the fact that it is also known as an "AA cell," "double-A," or "double-A battery"? Thanks BrightOrion | talk 04:14, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

IP addresses[edit]

IP addresses are usually dynamically allocated. That means: that every time you connect to your ISP an IP address is randomly allocated to you. This means that an IP address that you or I have today was allocated to someone completely different in the past. You may have noticed that my address is different every time that I post. There is nothing that I can do about this. 85.255.232.109 (talk) 12:47, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense. You could register an account and use it. -Roxy the grumpy dog. wooF 09:18, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:46, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
