New pages patrol invitation

Hello, Beccaynr.
  • The new pages patrol team is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles needing review. We could use a few extra hands to help.
  • I believe that someone with your activity and experience is very likely to meet the guidelines for granting.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.

Thank you for your consideration. We hope to see you around!

Thank you, Hey man im josh, I have been interested in NPP for awhile, and I will look into it further! Cheers, Beccaynr (talk) 22:14, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

If you have interest you should absolutely give it a shot. We have a pretty good support system between the NPP Discord and the reviewers talk page. I always encourage people to check out WP:NPPSORT and start in an area they're familiar with (such as sports) and get familiar with the process, then branch out from there. Gender article

Hey. I'm very new to this Wikipedia thing with editing and I don't know how to exactly meessage you, but I'm going to assume this is how. As someone who's researched gender for qutie a while. I'd like to discuss with you your changes if possible. Please let me know if this is the right place or please revert my changes if this is the wrong place. I apologize if I'm using Wikipedia incorrectly, once again this is very new to me. Thanks! I noticed you had some disagreements with what I was writing and whether thats fueled by emotion or by non-anecdotal sources is irrelevant. The point is, the most important aspect of maturity is to make peace with the establishment. I'd like to know why you, overseer of "Gender", disagree with the edits I've made. I'm all about coming to definitive conclusions and making others happy and pro-utopianism! Please let me know your side of the coin so we can both become mature together! Thanks! -chumchumlol

Hi Chumchumlol, thank you for your message. I do plan to revert some of your changes to the article, and it would be best if you use the article talk page to propose your changes to the article. There are a variety of issues with your edits, including disruption to the lead, which was developed after extensive discussion on the article Talk page, and the addition of what appears to be original research. It is better to discuss issues related to the article content at the article talk page, so I encourage you to make suggestions there, and to include sources with your proposed changes. I have left you several messages on your user talk page about dispute resolution, edit warring, and an introduction to contentious topics, and I encourage you to review these policies as well. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 06:22, 27 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi Beccaynr, none of the sources provided are anecodtal or include edits which are "disruption to the lead" they simply just account for what has been shown in Eastern socieites and not solely Western civilizations. Often times, it's important to look at the bigger picture when looking into definitive definitions and it takes Merriam Webster[1] and for that reason it is non-anecodtal. Around 70% of the claims I make originate from National Institue of Mental Health which I do not understand why you invalidate such source. But by what you've told me. I have finally figured out how the citing of sources works on Wikipedia thanks to you.Thank you for that and I'll be sure to properly next time. Thanks! chumchumlol

Hi Chumchumlol, I have created a section on the Gender article talk page, titled Past discussions of lead and linked to past discussions so you and other editors can have these discussions more easily available as a reference. You can create a new section on the article Talk page to propose changes, and it may be helpful to review the past discussions as a starting point. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 17:08, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
