Adoption offer

I've seen your username multiple times today at RecentChanges and I've noticed that your userpage boasts an adoption request template. Would you like me to adopt you? I usually check Wikipedia multiple times every day and I have over 5000 edits. I am also a rollbacker and a reviewer, which may appeal to you since you seem interested in vandal-fighting. I've also written two DYKs.

Either way, you can still contact me at my talk page if you have any questions. Good luck and happy editing! :) Guoguo12--Talk--  21:16, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to think about it. Baseball Watcher (talk) 03:15, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Okay, take your time. Guoguo12--Talk--  03:18, 15 December 2010 (UTC) Arrrgh, my signature is the same color as your talk page...
May I ask what your interests are? and do you grant rollback and reviewer or just have them? Baseball Watcher (talk) 03:21, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
I am mostly a maintenance editor, having worked in referencing, wikification, AfD, RecentChanges patrol, and general anti-vandalism. However, I do also write some new content, often for topics unrelated to my real-life interests (music, net games, Unites States history...). As for rollback and reviewer rights, these rights can only be granted by admins. You can request rollback and reviewer rights at WP:PERM/R and WP:PERM/RW respectively. I await your reply; no tb necessary. Guoguo12--Talk--  20:08, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
I noticed that Addihockey10 has also offered you adoption. In case you're worried, I'm perfectly fine with you accepting his offer. He's more experienced anyway... :) Guoguo12--Talk--  20:08, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
I'm so sorry but I would like to decline your adoption offer. Baseball Watcher Lets Chat 04:34, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
That's fine. Good luck! Guoguo12--Talk--  14:13, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Adoption

Sure :) What are you interested in? Anti-vandalism? I have to go, but just leave me a message :) --Addihockey10e-mail 03:50, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

So would you be interested in writing articles? --Addihockey10e-mail 13:19, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Sure. Baseball Watcher (talk) 01:12, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
If you could find some articles that you`d be interested in (I imagine alot of the baseball players and teams have already be created) then go ahead and make a draft in your userspace (example User:Baseball_Watcher/ARTICLENAME). If you need any help let me know :) --Addihockey10e-mail 01:29, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
would you still be willing to adopt me? Baseball Watcher (talk) 03:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Of course ;) --Addihockey10e-mail 03:07, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
By the way are intrested in sports because you have hockey in your username? Baseball Watcher (talk) 03:10, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
I`ve played hockey for a number of years actually. --Addihockey10e-mail 03:10, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Isn't there a Wikipedia page where people request articles to be made? If there is could you give me the link? Baseball Watcher (talk) 13:31, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
WP:Requests for creation? --Addihockey10e-mail 13:33, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
No its WP:REQUEST. Baseball Watcher (talk) 14:07, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
I would like you to adopt me if that's okay with you. Baseball Watcher Lets Chat 04:30, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Urban Meyer page protection

Greetings, Baseball Watcher! I noticed that you reduced the protection period on the Urban Meyer page from "indefinite" to December 22, 2010. The problems that prompted the original page protection were related to Meyer's resignation and the announcement of his replacement, Will Muschamp, and the subsequent flood of attempted edits by IP users who wanted to alter the "current" coach information before Meyer coaches his last Gators game on January 1, 2011. Would you mind terribly if we reset the protection period to expire on January 2, 2011, so we don't have to continually revert premature changes to the article before then? Thanks. Don't see why not. Baseball Watcher (talk) 03:28, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello Baseball Watcher. I am just letting you know that I deleted NR BMX, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 03:26, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

UAA Report

Hi! Just wanted to drop you a note that the last username you reported to WP:UAA was an established editor with 30000+ edits. I'm glad you're looking out for username vios, but be sure to check on each editor to see if it's an established editor or a new user that may not be aware of the username policy. If you have questions about usernames or just Wikipedia in general, feel free to drop me a line. Cheers! TNXMan 17:21, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Mistake?

Regarding your edit here, "Dick" is a common nickname for Richard. I feel this is in no way a WP:UAA matter, as the editor in question has been here four years, and using a real name is NOT a UAA violation. WuhWuzDat 17:22, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

I'm so sorry about that. I apologize for that. Baseball Watcher (talk) 17:58, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey there Baseball Watcher! It appears that you have received offers from 2 different editors involved in the adopt-a-user program. New Page Patrol

HI BW. Welcome to the murky but extremely important department of New Page Patrol. I'm just letting you know that your recent tagging of Pierson D. Petropoulos should have been G3 Hoax rather than 'nonsense' (admins are a bit sensitive about this kind of thing). I haven't changed anything because it will get deleted anyway. Hello Baseball Watcher, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of We Are The World--The Making of the Video, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not nonsense - there is meaningful content. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Dabomb87 (talk) 06:15, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Just a note; I've tagged the article as A10, since it doesn't meaningfully expand on We Are the World at all. If that gets declined, I/you can take it to AfD. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 05:15, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Dabomb87 (talk) 15:13, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Can you specify your areas of concern with above article, otherwise tags are not useful. Thanks Djflem (talk) 16:17, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

I just took them off. Baseball Watcher Lets Chat 16:32, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Debbie (disambiguation)

Hi, I noticed you tagged Debbie (disambiguation) for deletion under G1; I think this would probably have been declined, since it's clearly a clumsy attempt at a disambiguation page. G1 has a pretty narrow criteria, so I re-tagged it as a duplicate of Debbie. Feezo (Talk) 03:17, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

About how similar your userpages are (please respond)

Baseball Watcher/Baseball Fanatic/Baseball fan4541/Humor Guy, I find your userpages a bit too similar to mine. Would you mind changing that? Signed, Perseus (tc) 20:03, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Reverting vandalism

Hi, BBW, your work in reverting vandalism is valuable, but please take care when using Twinkle. In this edit, IP user 76.250.184.158 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) was actually reverting vandalism by 178.108.138.176 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). You not only reverted 76.250.184.158, thus removing the properly sourced content he restored, you also issued a warning on his talkpage. I really think you should strike your warning, and an apology would probably help to encourage his anti-vandal contributions in future. Regards --RexxS (talk) 01:35, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Page on spin bowling

I recently made some changes to the spin bowling page, tidying up a table I added a month or so ago. For some reason you reverted it claiming it was "vandalism". Could you please re-revert it and be more careful about what you identify as vandalism in future? If you are an expert on cricket and disagree with the changes I would be more than happy to discuss it with you on the talk page. Otherwise, please leave well alone. Thanks. 213.70.98.66 (talk) 13:44, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I also noticed that you reverted an edit by 188.221.246.173, stating that it was vandalism. I agree that their edit requires a source, so it was good of you to revert the change, but I don't believe it qualified as vandalism. I may be wrong, however, so I'd like to invite you to take a look at WP:VAN and decide for yourself whether 188.221.246.173's qualifies as vandalism or not. --Tanner Swett (talk) 22:14, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Your rollback request

Hello Baseball Watcher, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (such as by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. If you think an edit should require a reason for reverting, then don't use rollback and instead, use a manual edit summary. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 13:24, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Question about PLayoff brackets

Shouldn't it say Pittsburgh then NE/NYJ and if NYJ win it would say NYJ Pittsburgh? 71.233.89.24 (talk) 04:34, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Please excuse me for posting a response on your talk page, Baseball Watcher, but on the off chance someone's looking at this and it cuts down on the bad edits you keep having to revert on the bracket template, I post the correct answer: since home field advantage is not yet determined for the AFC Championship game, it is incorrect to post a single team name in either slot. The current (hopefully still current) edit lists all three teams in either possible slot - PIT/NYJ vs. NE/PIT. Tomorrow, we'll have the final bracket locked in, but until then, please do not enter a single team in either slot. Thanks. ☯.ZenSwashbuckler.☠ 04:42, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Igloo and/or Huggle

Have you tried Igloo or Huggle? They are much faster anti-vandalism tools than Twinkle. On another note, the revert here wasn't vandalism as as shown in the edit summary, it was a copyedit and therefore in good faith. I would appreciate it if you crossed out the warning.

P.S I think your edit notice is so right. Cliff shouldn't have gone to the Phillies! →GƒoleyFour← 00:31, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
