Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. If you believe that your user page does not violate our guideline, please leave a note on this page. Alternatively, you may add {{Db-u1}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's user page guideline. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 18:30, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have edited your user page, which is not article space. This is why the "User:" is in the title and it cannot be removed. Please see WP:USERPAGE for what is considered permissible user page content. If you intend to create an article about yourself, you should be aware of the autobiography policy(read at WP:AUTO) which states that doing so is highly discouraged. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not social media. All Wikipedia articles must be supported with independent reliable sources that indicate how the subject is notable. 331dot (talk) 19:01, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Ashtongleckman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 331dot (talk) 19:01, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for message. User pages are for you to write about your activities on Wikipedia, and are not for self-promotion, this isn't social media. I think you realised that you shouldn't have written there since you asked in an edit summary if "User" could be removed from the title. It would have been deleted anyway because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that you meet the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to you, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what you claim or interviewing you. You gave no references at all. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: he has had a number of achievements in the audiovisual arts... his true love was in a different realm of music... He is immersed in the academia... has a passion for film.
  • the article was created in a single edit without wikilinks or references, and looks as if was copied from an unknown and possibly copyrighted source. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial, and text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • The image you used is clearly copyrighted and can't be used here. It appears here on a page marked Facebook © 2017. See deletion request
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that you are notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also guidance for editors with conflicts of interest and writing about yourself.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read this important guidance and note the COI comment above

A tag has been placed on User:Ashtongleckman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
