Proposed deletion of Gift sex[edit]

The article Gift sex has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references found, other than a forum post on RichardDawkings.net

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 16:25, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:39, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Gift sex, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gift sex. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 18:53, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Repost of Gift sex[edit]

A tag has been placed on Gift sex requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Removing Speedy at Gift sex[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Gift sex. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 13:58, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Gift sex, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. August 2009[edit]

Gift sex[edit]

Favonian, I have provided a reference. It is not a popular, well known book but it exists, how could you possibly know that it doesn't? Since I've provided a reference, what's the problem?? Also, why is it an "inappropriate" page? It's inappropriate simply because you don't personally like it??!

{[African2]}

The article in question has been discussed at a [[WP:AFD|Articles for deletion}} discussion. During that discussion, it was revealed that the original article's author (you, African2) had made the term up. Providing a "reference" this time around is a little disingenuous, don't you think? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:38, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have removed the reference. If you want it to be put back in, please provide the publisher's name, and preferably the year of publication and the ISBN. A search has not revealed the book being either currently print, or listed as out-of-print. Alternatively, if you can provide a reliable website selling it, give that instead. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 20:46, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just so that you know, I did a search for the Author ("Mutale Chiluba") as well - all the google hits returned were social sites (hi5, facebook). There were no other references to this person. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 20:47, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The edits by this IP [1] are the same as yours, and suggest that one person may be trying to add the identical unsourced text to different articles. If this is the case, please read WP:SOCKPUPPET. 99.149.84.135 (talk) 20:52, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
