User:WinterWarp People do not want to know about our nationality, our customs, our music and our singers, so why continue maintaining something if the majority votes to eliminate this article. I have worked on it 100% since its creation and the responses are deleted. This frustrates me. Acartonadooopo (talk) 21:17, 6 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
User:Acartonadooopo, at your request, I did some work to improve the Noam Bettan page (and also his Wikidata item). I then chose not to invest more effort there, but took part in the Deletion discussion. As a biography page it seems to lack the criteria detailed in Wikipedia:Notability (people). Those participating in the discussion are upholding consensus based on objective considerations. Note: Does Noam Bettan perform in a language other than Hebrew? Have his songs charted outside of Israel? To me he appears to be relevant mainly or only to the Israeli music scene, with one album and appearances on a television show and a festival. See the Category:Israeli singer-songwriters with pages in the English Wikipedia to see the stature of their careers. -- Deborahjay (talk) 18:53, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of subjects for bio pages in the EN WP[edit]

Note that the English word "notoriety" means being notable for bad actions or character.

The requirements for a biography page in the English Wikipedia are covered on the page Wikipedia:Notability (people). See also Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Before making extensive efforts to create and write a page, refer to similar bio pages with proven notability (such as those found in Category:Israeli singer-songwriters).

In regard to coverage of Israelis here in the English Wikipedia: the above standards haven't been altered by the events of October 7, 2023, in Israel and Gaza, and subsequent developments. Each proposed new page is first evaluated for "notability" - whether the topic (or biography) belongs. Then there's time to improve the page content.

You and I, and many other people, may strongly agree that a wide range of Israeli topics are worthy of coverage for an English-language readership - but we must accept that the English Wikipedia is entitled to maintain its content guidelines. -- Deborahjay (talk) 12:24, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deborahjay my article by Noam Bettan, Maor Ashkenazi is more notable than this article by this novelist Maan Abu Taleb with only one reference source and most likely autobiography My article about the French Israeli musician has independent and reliable sources, as previously mentioned, he may not be recognized in the US or Europe, but his artistic role in Israel is relevant, it is well-known, young people listen to him, his songs have appeared on radio broadcasting lists. and Israeli streaming, what else is needed for it to be sufficiently notable and notable.
I leave it to your discretion why there are other articles here without sources and no one asks that they be deleted and why an article written and most similar to that of the Israeli rapper Ron Nesher cannot exist Well, they have ignored many points of why they want to eliminate knowing that they have been improved.
